Its only small because you want it to be small and thats wherein lies the major problem, these people form bubbles and then use those bubbles to shield themselves.

I don't think gamergate's going to go far anymore. The discussion is so polarized, and people on either side, the extremists of both sides have created so much animosity that it's hard for there to be any way for either group to talk to each other without yelling 'Fuck off'. maybe i'm just getting disheartened

AGG have a huge issue with actually sitting down and talking things out in an indepth and reasonable manner because that's when their arguments begin to break down. Most of them are hanging around on twitter because it gives them the ability to get their points across in sparse, easy to digest sentences while keeping their opponents at the same level. Vulgarity is basically a weapon for them to use in order to deflect actual discussion and subsequently losing the debate if they even try to get involved in one.
