Do we have any figures on how the readership of Kotaku, Gamasutra and etc changed since Gamergate began? That should be one of our objective measures of success.

Man, I almost wish some anti-GG folks would stumble upon this thread... It'd be a little break from the monotony of bad news.
patrick klepek believes 8chan was created solely for gamergate.
Well it wouldn't have grown if it weren't for gamergate
Anyone have a source for this?
"I work for Reuters. I’m a journalist in the media business.
Back in 2008, I sat in a conference and reviewed some proposals to integrate news sources focused on electronic gaming into our RSS service as niche content providers.
We considered IGN, Gamespot, and a few other syndicated online info feeds.
Now, in order to white label a source as affiliated with Reuters, you need to run through a checklist of ~100 items that are necessary for journalistic integrity. The source and its organization has to score at least a 60 out of 100 for it to be considered fair and unbiased.
These tests are carried out by senior journalists, editors, and investigators.
NONE of the gaming publications scored higher than a 15. For reference, the National Enquirer scored a 38 and the MSNBC blogosphere scored 44.
Some failures included:
- Economic ties with publishers
- Acceptance of favors
- 0% of staff held journalism degree
- Very small percentage worked in other major publications
- No real editing process
- No accountability
tl;dr: Gaming “journalism” is a joke and the laughingstock of reporting media. Continue to read these publications if you want, but assume that everything you read is biased or an outright lie.”
I recall it from Reddit a few weeks ago but I didn't keep that source on hand.

I've seen this around a lot, on YouTube usually. I'm assuming it's false until convinced otherwise.
Kotaku is the only one that hasn't seen a drop in traffic. RPS and Gamasutra, on the other hand, have been hit very, very hard.
I would assume Kotaku's resilience comes the fact that they're all sort of competing as tabloids now, and most people who want to read tabloids go to Kotaku.
their readership has made up it's mind and is steadily only being fed one side of the story, and they're happy about that.
Engaging in Kotaku comments is a bad idea, they don't care about facts or evidence or reason or rational, they just have a raging hateboner for what GG has been misrepresented to be on that website.
Guys, Reuters is our only journalistic safe haven.
Looks like we have allies after all!

Don't believe everything you read on 4Chan.

Wait, what'chu talking 'bout, Boxes?
Idea: consolidation.
Take any tweets or texts or evidence of both GG and AGG people claiming they've been doxxed. Consolidate all this stuff into one post or image or info poster to show the volume difference of people who have been hit by either side.

Alrighty, the desperation of this is really getting to my head.

pro tip: 8chan uses IDs to identify who is posting what. you do the math.
While funny, it's important to take away from this image that it could be from an anti-gg person who is an idiot, or a pro-gg person trying to fake it.
What is brianna's game again?
Article just posted on Polygon about Utah State getting a school shooting threat if Anita shows up. I don't have a link, saw it on Twitter.

Probably the most transparant attempt to co-opt the movement i've seen.
He's not wrong it's all interrelated, but the only way we "win" is by tackling one problem at a time.
Friend of mine made this graphic. How accurate do you guys feel this is to the state of GG?
Even if you leave out the whole postmodernism there's no way you can graph it properly with less than three dimensions.

The part about Baldwin is definitely a lie, I saw it unfold on Twitter and he agreed.

Woo, I can tell this week's going to be a fun one to watch.

I am more offended by how shitty that drawing is.
Study your Loomis then you can go fight the man.
I found it funny how WU was so threatened from those death threats that she left her home for a whopping 2 hours. That's like going out for dinner and coming back saying you're safe.
I can't be the only one that had never heard of Brianna Wu or whatever game it is that she'd making before all this happened, right?

That picture was being passed around on my tumblr dashboard.
I was considering writing my own words about my thoughts on Anita's videos, but this just made me decide it wasn't worth it.
But we're not reaching the public with the ad campaign. That's not getting any message out whatsoever. That's literally doing nothing to promote the movement. Its just cutting funding to certain sites and that is it. That doesn't spread any message at all.
Not really. A huge company like Intel pulls ads, they scream about it, then look bad because people know Intel wouldn't do it without good reason.
[editline]15th October 2014[/editline]
This is why I'm not very hopeful right now and why I'm losing faith in the movement. Its not because Brianna Wu got on the news and said mean things about us. Its because she did this and now we just want to bitch to ourselves about it and not do a goddamn thing. Its a fucking pity party! All we want to do is feel sad about ourselves because our side isn't getting heard, then jerk off to pictures of them being mean to us until we feel better about ourselves. Or we go on twitter, confront them for a bit until they block us and go "Hah!"
You are the pity party, I for one have a lot of fun with this.
Even the crazy-biased TV interviews have surprising comedy value.
