Time to splinter off and form our own grassroots movement keeping the original spirit of GG while trying to avoid the stigma?
The entire idea of criticizing an open movement based on a death threat that allegedly came from a supporter is that if you allow that to be seen as valid, quickly anyone who wants to can just false flag. In other words, the problem is anyone who sees this as a problem. it will happen regardless of what tag we run to or what name we use, that's important to realize. it's a fundemental "problem" with open movements, not gamergate, and anyone who doesn't realize this is and echos the idea that you need to rebrand isn't being helpful or having thought this out to a basic level. Saying we should split up would only have the effect of dividing our steam, it's directly counter to the goals in every way possible.
should be doing
Finally decided to do some audio blabbering over the subject's four facets. As for "doing something" you should be emailing parent companies and sending in complaints, with screenshots of asshattery preferable. At the base level this is about cultural takeover of the biggest business in entertainment and the future of commercial storytelling. The more people ask for money to spent wisely and fairly on good people, the more likely it is to happen. Businesses without customers do not survive.
Do anyone else find it slightly funny that it seems every character in Revolution 60 (Brianna Wu's game) is a female except for the enemies?

It pisses me off so much how the media doesn't listen at all. Gamergate is and was always about corruption, but somehow it's now seen as hating women. They need to separate the issues. They can talk about women in video games if they want, but then they need to leave Gamergate out of it. They can also talk about Gamergate, but then they need to leave women in video games out it. Just separate the issues dammit. Because they are separate issues. We have the facts, but nobody is listening. They'd rather hear the denial, hypocrisy, and crocodile tears instead.

That doesn't make it right, but that's what the media does.
Honestly, they'd have more of a story if they worded it right, although in our favor in the end. I mean, they could just be super click-baity like all news are.

Well shit, I just hope he realises that there is no one leader that can just say "guys stop the death threats, they're not us". All the big people have denounced the threats anyway (TB, jontron etc).
nyt news paper gonna have a smear article tomorrow in paper, possibly front page. just a fyi article in question: https://archive.today/0EBcN
he also posted this, woo.

Also, on the subject of Anita's death threats, take a look at this.
Anyone have those examples of anti-GG doxing GG people and threatening them? It really helps prove a point to people who spew the apologetic "GG was good but is so rotten at the surface hurr"

I missed capping it but they also claimed they hope someone makes an example of my cousin, a 7 year old girl, so I can see what kind of acts I’m supporting. However, an important follow up, after speaking with the friend I had the discussion with it turns out the one who doxxed me came to them and told them that they were going to send me a message and make sure that I no longer bother anyone, etc. After some more talking and some relaying of messages I ended up actually speaking to the mother of the 16 year old girl who doxxed me and sent threats, and then to the girl herself. I wrote up a summary here. http://hokuto-ju-no-ken.tumblr.com/post/99774092444/well-that-was-a-surprisingly-real-phonecall [quoted below] I feel that with the unique nature of how this harassment turned out and actually having been able to confront the person who did it that people should see that people are being conditioned into thinking that this is an acceptable way to respond to people with different opinions. Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t excuse it one bit, but it does highlight another huge problem in the internet social justice culture. Impressionable young minds are being mislead and manipulated.

Well that was a surprisingly real phonecall. Talked with her mom about what happened and what she did, then her mom made the girl herself get on the phone and apologize. I just asked her why she did it and she didn’t really have an answer. Talked to her for a little bit on how this can really hurt people and ruin lives. She said she just wanted to be a good feminist Talked a bit on what it means to be socially responsible, and how if she really wanted to make a positive change she wouldn’t do stuff like this Her mom was terrified I was gonna press charges or something, but I said nah, I’m not gonna ruin anyone’s life like that. She did get grounded from the internet for a couple of weeks, though. She doesn’t seem like a bad kid, just really misguided and very impressionable. Last thing I said to her was that if anyone ever makes her think that helping someone ever means hurting someone else, they’re not interested in helping anyone and they probably don’t care what happens to her. She said she was sorry, cried some, said she’ll never do it again and then she said something that really kinda just… I dunno, shocked me? She asked “Do you hate me?” and I said “No” and she just cried more and said she was sorry. I asked her to remember that there are real, living people with real feelings at every computer and she said she’d try to. I feel bad for her, really. People really lead her to believe what she did was an appropriate thing to do. That’s a failure and lack of social responsible on the fucking internet and its call out culture. She’s just as much a victim as I was.
Yeah I'm pretty sure even suggesting you're involved in a raid is bannable on SA.
They aren't terribly bright.
They are pretty dumb.
Goon indirectly admits that the Anita shooting threat was their doing.
If we're sure he means that goon sent it by saying "goon-started drama" we need to put this out everywhere.
I'm pretty sure the whole post implies that they rather started the whole thing At least that's level of intelligence that I'd expect from them.
Well it could mean one of several things: 1. Zoe Quinn has apparently posted on SA, meaning she could technically be considered a goon. If this is the case I have no idea why any goon would be proud because Zoe hasn't represented SA at all since this started. 2. Some goons are trying to stir shit up. Again, I'm fairly certain this is bannable, so this would be pretty stupid. 3. Some goons are false-flagging. Not only is this bannable but I'm sure Lowtax would not appreciate the attention the could potentially bring. Regardless, goons have been involved in GG-related raids before, most notably on 4chan after moot's GG ban.
If you need a laugh you need to read this guy's Twitter. Brianna Wu tried to accuse Dice of only having white males as presenters and speakers, but she tweeted a fruit produce importer instead. The produce man is now for Gamergate, is talking about how someone should make a produce based videogame, and started the #Gamerfruit movement where you place a piece of fruit on your gaming systems. It's too funny hahahahaha https://twitter.com/diceeurope/with_replies
I have no idea what 8chan is but apparently this happened [t]http://i.imgur.com/TX6m0HK.jpg[/t]
Damnit, I wish I wasn't asleep at the time. I've gotten really good at repeatedly spamming fur porn.
I have no idea what 8chan is but apparently this happened [t]http://i.imgur.com/TX6m0HK.jpg[/t]
The magnificent bastards, more work to stop doxxing here than anything done in the anti-GG side. As much as it doesn't matter, that everyone follows only their cognitive bias and all that effort is meaningless because people were already invested in the opposite narrative, it's still good to see them making an effort.
I found this excellent post i thought i'd share with you guys on 8chan. It's on the oftentimes strange reactions of the anti-gg and traditional media. [editline]16th October 2014[/editline]
Oh god, just saw CBS this morning and I see Anita Sarkeesian talking about how Gamergate is a movement made to oppose feminism and basically implied were all males who hate inclusiveness. They also had a quick word from Brianna Wu. It was short but extremely biased where they never even mentioned games journalism. That's how manipulative people like Anita work I suppose, they'd rather have everyone listening and believing their fabricated story about the movement.
