Corruption in gaming journalism discussion and update thread. - General

I found this on facebook [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/s1JRBWh.png[/IMG] I'm not quite sure why gamergate is always equated to woman-hating. I don't see any of it, but that seems to be the only complaint about the movement from level-headed people. And unfortunately it's not the kind of thing we can prove is wrong; thousands of dollars have been donated in the name of gamergate to support women in gaming, yet gamergate apparently still hates women. How can this be solved?

So, this thread has been going on for 8000 posts now, in addition to the stuff from the sensationalist headlines thread that was locked a while back. Anyone expect it to last this long? It's kind of sad really. Had every website just out there even the simplest of ethical standards in place, or even just ignored it, it would have never become as big as it has.
