I'm honestly not surprised Tumblr's Social Justice™ side agrees with Anita's posts and are using the recent school shooting as a prop for their agendas. It's not like Brianna is the only human being in the world who looks a bit different in her profile picture from how she looks when she's midway through speaking during an interview on the news. I still think she's a royal arsehole, but shit like that is the reason why Gamergate gets a bad name.
Also, in reference to the point she raises, whilst I agree that diversity in gaming is important, quoting a global statistic (where about a third of the world's population live in one of two non-white. relatively homogeneous countries) is ridiculous. I expect the actual amount of white men in America, where most of the games she's talking about are made, is at least 30%. Shouldn't this be a complaint she aims at Japan, where most games feature white men or women despite coming from an almost entirely non-white country?

You're missing the point. Based on her name and her profile image, you'd think she's something like half-Asian, not a white girl with a giant jaw. Her looking like hell warmed over in the second shot means shit.
TB makes a lot of great points that nobody on the anti-side will read, and that even many on the pro-side will completely miss.

Apart from Gawker still promoting bullying, not very much.
Although people are now suspecting Gawker of committing sponsorship fraud. Plus Gawker having a pretty huge history of doing unethical things, like doxxing every person with a gun in the state of New York, leaking the script for Hateful Eight (Tarantino shelved the movie for two years following that), and leaking sex tapes of Hulk Hogan while Hogan was in a rough stage of life, and the list just goes on and on. It is also implied that Gawker might be involved in other shady stuff like tax fraud and other monetary fraud. It's kinda hard to believe that they are a 300 million dollar concern with how terribly they are handling things.

Right now the only thing that image accomplishes is a Gamergate-branded version of the unfathomable stupidity of pictures like this

Um, i think your missing the point somewhat. It's not about her looking worse, people do touch up pictures, it's about how her skin is a different color in her twitter profile picture. The idea is that she had her profile picture made to look more like a minority in the US to further her professional victim career. the post was more than just that picture too.
