Hey look, New York Times says "Game Over for Gamers"....again :suicide: https://archive.today/H4zUs vaasdefinitionofinsanity.mp4
Expecting anything but vapid appeals to emotion from Anita?
Frankly, I don't care if GG is remembered as a terrible harassment campaign of terribleness. It does not matter. Most everyone involved were 'faceless masses' who, by virtue of them being one among many, did not make themselves look like fools like many AGG journalists did with their tantrums. When all is said and done, we can all discard the hashtag and the whole movement and move on with our lives. They cannot redact the words they said, and cannot wish back the lost ad revenue in their wallets.
Writing brilliance. How are they not ashamed of themselves, god. That's rhetorical question. The real would be WHO THE FUCK READS THIS STUFF
That smiley is painful.
I've seen interviews with fucking KKK members that were longer and less biased than this. No, seriously. Check it.
Watching that video reminds me so much of this video where a guy from Buffalo talks about race issues in the town. It's fucking incredibly weird how steady and professional people can come off as when saying stuff like that. [editline]28th October 2014[/editline] Also outside of VICE being a bunch of tards, what's new right about now?
blank
That makes me sick.
I looked at the comments and a lot of them are actually challenging what she's saying. The Ones voted to the top are ignored.
time to save all archived material https://mobile.twitter.com/thehat2/status/527133997747683328
Archive.today doesn't even publish contact info, and the whole site is pretty blatantly illegal in terms of copyright law. I somehow doubt that they'll easily manage to make them take down stuff. The Wayback Machine on the other hand makes it very easy for site owner to remove content.
He was the guy that said it was stupid to insult your audience waaaay back when. I think he's just using a-gg language to maybe get some of them to actually play ball.
I didn't even remember that article from way back when but reading THIS article I just see venomous anti-anti-gg sarcasm absolutely OOZING from this article, and it's just too rich. I'd personally prefer to think of it that way, if that's fine with everyone else. EDIT: Seriously, I honestly think this needs signal-boosting.
Jesus Christ that's disgusting. How can they justify saying that when they dox it's completely fine, but when GG does it, it's worse than auschwitz?
It's true that it's not a problem unless someone publishes or makes use of the information though. Besides that, I vaguely remember IA challenging people to find his real info on one of the early streams :v: I don't think he'd care that much. [editline]29th October 2014[/editline]
We're Winning
Still really slanted in ignoring the harassment flung the other way, but at least it's a constructive article that isn't batshit crazy for once. [editline]29th October 2014[/editline]
Damn, so when people don't want these games on steam the developers decide to forgo the democratic process and stuff the ballots with their own votes? These assholes are so full of themselves.
There's no way they'll actually have an impact, unless there are more than 5000 or so people in that group. Steam is too large to be manipulated like that, and they definitely have botting prevention measures in place. (Can you even vote before buying something?) [editline]29th October 2014[/editline]
The bargaining begins. This reads like terms for a cease-fire when most GG supporters wouldn't even accept terms of surrender.
I'm definitely not going to suddenly trust them again after that amount of slant and blatant lies (which are pretty much the only reason I even care about this stuff). [editline]29th October 2014[/editline]
He was the guy that said it was stupid to insult your audience waaaay back when. I think he's just using a-gg language to maybe get some of them to actually play ball.
Yes, it really does read a bit like a bait-and-switch. The second half is pretty much "start taking responsibility and get it over with" at which point GamerGate would have reached its intended goal (if it was done honestly, but I think the mentioned inertia is enough to take the air out of any dishonest attempt).
Twitter has new reporting features pandering to a certain group.
The bargaining begins. This reads like terms for a cease-fire when most GG supporters wouldn't even accept terms of surrender.
I sure as fuck won't rest until every single one of these abusive, lying, asshole shmucks are out of a job. I can't tell you guys how many calls I've made to gamer friends of mine about all of this. One of them is a lawyer and he tells me he found out there's a few lawsuits being pursued at the moment. He doesn't know much about them, but expect a few of the websites to get hit.
Still really slanted in ignoring the harassment flung the other way, but at least it's a constructive article that isn't batshit crazy for once.

Endless ridicule and antagonism of Gamergaters on Twitter.
It briefly mentions it in one of the points that it shown.
The KKK has allowed black members for quite a while now too. They're not evil or stupid, just fucking insane.
Well it's not wrong. "Debunked" is a success verb that implies more than simple denial. Having looked at the leaked emails, I would say that the allegations of collusion are largely and obviously true. So there's not really any justification for us to go further than "denied".
i think the funniest part is NorthBySouthBaranof is trying to list Wiki Guidelines to the guy who created the fucking site.
Twitter has new reporting features pandering to a certain group.
Half of those options will just give you a "thanks for the report but we won't do anything" mail. Well, the harassment patrol will be able to report a bit more accurately now. Is the "against a group" option new? [editline]29th October 2014[/editline]
Twitter idiot cull please.
I wouldn't be surprised if the "this opinion is offensive" option actually reduced the urgency of checking that account.
Archive.today doesn't even publish contact info, and the whole site is pretty blatantly illegal in terms of copyright law.
If it is, then why is the Internet Archive not already shut down, after more than a decade of operation? The Internet Archive offers removal of legal content, they even have a form for it.
It briefly mentions it in one of the points that it shown.
Still ignoring the IRL happenings. Then again I suppose the AGG journalists aren't stupid enough to personally call the police on someone, so it doesn't concern the topic of the article quite as much.
Then again I suppose the AGG journalists aren't stupid enough to personally call the police on someone, so it doesn't concern the topic of the article quite as much.
Honestly, nothing would really surprise me anymore.
I just looked up the whois info, archive.today appears to be hosted in France (but that could just be a proxy). However, the domain seems to have been registered by a Czech. It really depends on what they want to do, but nowhere in the EU has a DMCA clause so they can't nuke content without sending them a formal request manually and having that processed manually and then possibly executed manually. If they manage to remove something it's going to take a while.
Even if you wanted something nuked, that already shows bad intent/trying to cover something up.
That's one of the reasons why I love hosting in the EU. We get to have time to remove any offending content or appeal to the request.
Even if you wanted something nuked, that already shows bad intent/trying to cover something up.
Not necessarily, I mean in this case there is a copyright infringement issue coupled with revenue loss. Also they are keeping the articles up on their own sites. [editline]29th October 2014[/editline]
That's one of the reasons why I love hosting in the EU.
Doesn't Australia not have DMCA either?
I'm pretty sure we're sucking America's dick when it comes to DMCA. The only servers worth using here are game servers, otherwise you're just paying a fortune for hosting.
