people found out the colbert interview is edited

I know its probably stupid & off-topic but I couldn't resist
GamerGate has sort of reminded me of that episode in The Simpsons titled "Homer Badman" where he is falsely accused by the mainstream media for "Sexually assaulting Ashley Grant" (Even though he was trying to get a gummi Venus deMilo off her pants since it was stuck). The protestors harass Homer on his way to work & even at work, Bart & Lisa begin to believe the media's story over their father's, he gets a call from a news agency that wants to hear his side of the story, he delivers his honest testimony, said news agency edits his testimony to make him look like a monster, he is eventually exonerated by video proof of his innocence, & the news agency apologies but make no changes to their actions at all.

Was it not obvious? Colbert didn't walk over to another table she was already sitting at before he started the interview like he does with his other guests.

A redditor who claims to have been in the audience says he was much harder on her than was shown.
At one point Colbert asked if she thought that video games cause violence, she gladly said "no i don't believe they cause violence" and then he asked "then how do they cause misogamy?". (paraphrasing)
He included a photo from the audience as verification but I'm pretty skeptical about it. These sort of shows get edited into oblivion all the time, not really proof of anything.

Just saying, he has people at his desk all the time in the same fashion like Anita
But yeah, Colbert edits interviews all the time, I tend to notice it a lot but i never really cared until now

wait a sec
"misogamy"? As in "the hatred of marriage"?

Ooh, on the plus side of looking that up I found out Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale made a Spider-Man comic! God damn their Batman comics are fucking awesome.

nope
just the result of polygon switching to adsense instead of revealing partners
I wonder how sjws will react over such sexist ads that polygon has now.

Polygon tells them what to think,so they wont say anything.I am beginning to think this is nothing but media all the way down orchestrating everything.

Prob. just gonna overlook and live under a rock and screaming totally unreasonable stuff.

It's pretty common for interviews to get edited for TV. Mostly because interviews tend to last a long time, and there's simply not much time to air it all.
I don't like generalising but I really do think that SJWs don't really care about the minorities they claim to support, it's more an internalised will to stay relevant as a white majority. I'd argue they're the MOST racist people of our time.

Especially considering it's apparent that pretty much every "social justice" clique is dominated by whites
There was a good piece linked here or somewhere else about this, can't find it unfortunately

Gotta love how most of these people who call for social justice are actually white, mid/upper class, who never do, or did real work because mom and dad paid for everything.

I scored 105, telling me that I am privileged even though I'm poor, and a student... I wouldn't say that I have privileges, because if I did I would totally use them, but I don't want my parents to pay for everything.

Being a straight, cis white male already gives you a massive 'privilege' rating according to that thing. :v:
Being a straight, cis white male already gives you a massive 'privilege' rating according to that thing. :v:
It's completely America-centric

And OTHER choice in Races must give you massive negative privilege.
Lol choose closest country
[editline]31st October 2014[/editline]
Yes, OTHER choice does give you massive negative points. I went from 55% to 17% by changing it from White to OTHER.

That's standard for US media afaik, (almost all of) German media has the decency to fade over white whenever there's a cut like this.
It's quite likely they did it just to reduce pauses and possibly drop a question that wasn't interesting.
Unless either of them speaks immediately before and after the cut I wouldn't worry about it.

Apart from that they are going to be heavily bubbled in terms of the ads they see, unless they use privacy addons that disable tracking.
It's relatively unlikely for them to see this ad while browsing the site.

The tweets are real. The bragging? Nobody knows.
Definitely not bragging, one of those is entirely reasonable to mention in that conversation, the other is only to illustrate a different point.
Seriously, this is even more harmless than Garry's "[iMacs are too expensive for most people because you can't upgrade them but I'm super-rich so I don't care]" interview.
(That said, I think we can safely assume she didn't exactly experience hardship based on that statement. For the current discussion it doesn't matter whatsoever though.)
To be honest I'm a bit disgusted by the whole situation
I said right from the first time that she (anita sarkeesian) was talked about on facepunch that she was a scam artist, having something of an interest myself in the fringe or "dark" disciplines of human interaction, and I was called a misogynist bro-dude or whatever the cool kids are calling it these days.
Then we had video footage of her not only attending and promoting teleseminar (literally a pyramid scheme scam, by any other name), but also footage of presumably a university class she was enrolled in, wherein she states she is not a videogamer and had to learn extensively about videogames. Several years later "ive been gaming since i was 9" or whatever the fuck.
Now shes appearing on a mainstream TV show with a wide audience and her income is probably enough now that she never has to work another day in her life. Its fucked up. Anita and her boyfriend Mcintosh found a vulnerable issue that generates controversy (gender/identity politics) and exploited it for personal gain.
Very few people are talking about this. She gets richer by the minute. Its willful ignorance at best, simply because she furthers the agenda.
my mother asked if I knew that 4chan says "faggot" liberally
I wanted to call her a newfag so bad
I really did
- this persons personal information is not relevant -
While I understand the reasons for snipping out this post, I don't agree AT ALL with snipping out information because someone else on the mod team marked it as not-relevant.
I'd rather decide for myself if it's relevant or not, and knowing the backstory of Brianna made me understand a little bit better all her actions thus far (not the fact that she's transgender, that's tangentially relevant, but all the comments on the previously linked thread painted a picture of an emotionally unbalanced person, which to me explains Brianna's victim complex over the last few weeks).
I don't want to go around screaming CENSORSHIP, as the information is freely available if searched for, but I'd like that not to happen again in one of the last bastions of discussion about this topic (am I alone in thinking this?).

yEah, so here's the snip
well there goes my whole fucking post thanks edit
anyway so apparently brianna wu used to be john flynt. said her maiden name was that of a famous pornographer, people did the research.

was a senior at a campus in 2006.
whats interesting are the things people said back in 2010 about john flynt/brianna wu.
http://nafoom.yuku.com/sreply/235863/When-I-saw-bluejean-bandit-I-thought-you-were
thread also confirms her change from john to brianna. renamed herself after a guy she had a crush on named bryan.
The first time I met him, I was the opinion editor at The DM, and I turned to see this creepy fuck standing behind me… About this time my phone started ringing, and I politely ignored it while I talked to this guy. Then it rang again, and again until I answered. It was the managing editor, who had ducked behind the front desk and was whispering, "stay calm, and don't react to this, but this guy isn't supposed to be here. He has a restraining order. Get rid of him." By this point, I was concerned the guy might knife me at any moment; so I told him to write me three columns and that I'd evaluate them and get back to him on whether he could write for me. (I'm still proud of my ability to remain poised and convincingly pretend that the dm had any fucking standards.)"
Turns out, a year prior, he'd come in wanting the dm to run a comic strip that he was doing. When he was told they weren't interested, he flipped out. He called one of the workers a fat dyke, and when Dr. Husni came to her defense, he called him a "raghead" and a "sand n****r." They got a restraining order to keep him away from Farley, but when they moved to Bishop, it no longer applied, and he was actually able to weasel back in to working for the SMC.
For the record, he lives in Boston now and likes to brag about his vespa, and he's married to some dude. He used to brag about going hooking up with men without them knowing he wasn't a woman, which is fucking sick and obscenely immoral, no matter how open-minded you are.

I find it hilarious how anyone who knew Briaana back when he was a man, recall briana s being extremely sexist & racist he actually is towards minorities.

He lived in the building behind mine and would blast Madonna constantly and would leave all of his windows and balcony completely open while he danced. I remember he had some sort of girlie looking dog that always had a "someone please rescue me from this freak" look on its face. We called the dog Precious because of its similarity to the dog in Silence of the Lambs and Flynt's similarity to Buffalo Bill. I remember he went through rush in either '02 or '03 and told us some off the wall story that he used to live in DC and that he had gotten stabbed in the back of the head during a mugging and had completely lost all of his memory, including his name. Totally not surprised that he ended up having a sex change.
On one mysterious occasion, the apartment building was slightly shaking and extremely loud music could be heard. Weren't really sure what was going on. Ends up, John was dancing out of control in his living room. This was at like 4 a.m.
do with this info whatever you like.
[editline]30th October 2014[/editline]
tl;dr brianna was always fucking crazy and embraced the crazy but was also extremely racist and bigoted.

more related to gg here is an article from gawker entitled "What Are The Odds These New Media Brands Will Survive? A Power Ranking"

Welp, talk about a info-bomb.
ty crap you're the reason I still post once per decade <3<3<3
After listening to TB with Totilo and Pakman I wonder why he doesn't get invited to more mainstream shows. The man raised some great points and is a pretty great speaker all-around (which makes sense cause of his trade, also his voice). I wasn't a fan of him until he started speaking up for gamergate but I now hold enormous respect for the man.
Milo too has an incredible grasp of the whole scenario. I remember that in his AMA on 8chan when asked how many main "strands" of discussion there are in gamergate, he singled out the 2 main ones in his view (ethics and 3rd wave feminism media narrative) with just a question: "Does Anita Sarkeesian have a point?". Say what you will about the man and his views outside of gamergate, but the man shows a keen insight on the whole thing considering he decried gamers as social outcasts a few months ago.
