She may have been on Colbert but she did not 'win'. People who watch Colbert did not buy into her bullshit.
How are you guys still so optimistic. Anita went on Colbert. I think she won.
Nah. Going for broader mainstream audience is a huge strategic mistake on their part. It means literally nothing because gamergate only concerns gaming community. They win sympathies, something they had no shortage of compared to gamergate. But sympathies don't turn into money automatically. People who saw Sarkeesian or ZQ on TV might donate to them, but that's about it - none of them will start reading Kotaku or any other site from our shitlist all of a sudden. Anita can drown in donated money for all I care (it won't last long anyway), as long as a couple of dirty glorified blogs sink and others start thinking about what their actual audience wants to read. Hint: not about Anita. And then Anita-Queen boat will sink.
I just hope TotalBiscuit gets invited to more places. We really need someone to represent customers on the mainstream media, like it or not.
Indeed, so far TB has been a fucking boss in regards to interviews. I couldn't help but giggle when Socks used the handle "BasedBiscuit" when discussing him.
On the debate of who's "winning" and "losing", I'd be willing to say that their fate is already decided. Even if the websites remain, all the (shreds of) credibility and money they once had are dropping like stones in water, and the ones which will not collapse under the weight of the internet will be those that adjust to the complaints created over the past few months rather than fight against them.
also that i don't think it is as easy for the gg side to lose supporters as compared to the agg side
I'm sorry but apparently I missed the memo that said apologizing for unintentionally upsetting someone is considered harassment. If your feelings are THAT easily hurt, the games industry is DEFINITELY not for you.
Indeed. AAA development is a harsh mistress, and you are literally at public whim. EA and UbiSoft made this big pitch about becoming "multiplatform entertainment services", which was an absolute load of bull; anyone whose spent any time in the real service sector has an implicit understanding that your business has gone as far it can go under the normal operating procedure and now you are selling customer satisfaction through your product's venue as well as the product itself. What does that mean? Well the first thing it means is the customer is always right. Period. Doesn't matter if you'd had a bad day, doesn't matter if you're in the middle of a horrendous divorce, doesn't matter if your kids/parents/dog/significant sexual other hates your guts/is dying in hospital somewhere, the customer comes first. That's how they stay in business. That's how Xerox survived the death of paper, and have growing sales year to year; they took on women and minorities, then asked how to SERVE underutilized areas in their professional spheres, and then they did it. Refunds with no questions asked, free and responsive service/support after the sale, and building public trust by owning up to mistakes and missteps and then fixing them on their own dime. EA and Ubi talk big about stuff like this, and then you get the "peace missive" from Chris saying "oh golly guys, it's so hard to decide who's right on the two sides to this super complex and convoluted issue"... except there aren't two sides, and it's pretty clear EA is up to its ass in "journalist" payola and that there's no way for them to back out now without them getting shithammered with sudden exposes on their work conditions, game build quality and back room deals, not to mention two of their studios are essentially SJW central. The other slant on that is "it's so hard to communicate to our customers, we should probably not look at them as ##" Umm, you've been doing that for years, why stop now? See in a service venue when a customer says "hey simcity needs mp", you don't see how much SP dlc you can tack on to your creaky ill-launched sequel until your customers start permanently leaving, you give them what they asked for. That's how service industries survive.
i wonder how many people will decide to have a blank spot on their resume instead of gawker anything on it once this whole thing is done
Riot games employee takes stance on GG. can you guess which side? http://i.imgur.com/ohoitxr.jpg
Riot has always been a shithole. It was created by a bunch of guys who leeched all their ideas off of others and it has honestly continued to do so. I remember I got permabanned from LoL like four years ago or so because I was smashing the shit out of Pendragon (if I remember correctly that was his name) on the other team and called him an 'inflatable dolphin fucker.' He didn't take that quite well :v:

Something else which people should point out to Amazon regarding gawker and some of the behaviour towards gaming. Guess who purchased twitch for $970 million?
Something have always bothered me about Riot in the past. It was just something about their general behavior that always rubbed me the wrong way and kept me from ever wanting to associate with them or their work.
And then anti-GG praises Riot Games despite the fact that a lot of the female characters in League of Legends wear a lot of revealing clothing.
And then anti-GG praises Riot Games despite the fact that a lot of the female characters in League of Legends wear a lot of revealing clothing.
Remember when they tried to call DOTA 2 sexist? It was fucking hilarious back then too. :v:
I find it interesting how the arguments always go the same way. Arguing with anti-GG people involves getting them to first stop talking about GG as a whole and to talk to you as an individual. Most of them can't seem to do that.

Most of them can't seem to do that.
I refer to my previous post. They don't want to discuss things, their minds are already made up regarding us. There is no use arguing with what you cannot change. They only want to side track us, so ignore them, and focus on the task at hand. EDIT:
This is why more and more I believe we shouldn't give them the time of day. They clearly don't want to reason with us. Why should we put in the extra effort to reason with them when they clearly don't want to? We've proved to hell and back that GG is not about misogyny but rather a consumer revolt against shady and corrupt practices, but they keep bringing it back to that. At this point, we should just shut up and ignore them, and continue taking the fight to shitholes like Gawker and their ilk. Report, and move on. Don't give these assholes the attention they seek. Show them that actions speak millions of times louder than words.

i drink to forget and then this happens
Con artists chumming it up, who would have guessed? She can't name 3 games and he can't make a game with 3.3 million.
Tim Schafer was part of what made me want to make games. Feels kinda weird, all this.
Take lessons from the good things he did.
No one is the sum of one sentence.

Tim Schafer was part of what made me want to make games. Feels kinda weird, all this.
Remember the phrase "Never meet your idols"? That still holds true today, only now because of the internet the behaviour of your idols is shoved in your face 24/7; with no way to avoid it.

Yes, asking a side about what their side is about and attempting to do the same with the other side is an egregious crime against humanity. David Pakman should have just instantly "known" which side is right. http://i.imgur.com/QHMQjU3.png?1

This perfectly exemplifies how deeply entrenched she and everyone who sympathizes with her are in their own perfect fantasy. Ugh this whole thing gets so tiring to follow sometimes.
from 8chan
Guy that works for Viacom here. Just got a tip in my email. Due to the overwhelming popularity of a certain Cobert Report segment, Gamergate is going to get another airing on tv. And, you've guessed it, it's been deemed worthy enough to hit prime time. The Daily Show is going to be doing a segment on it. They're looking for a Gamergate supporter this time. I'm here to give you a warning. IF YOU GET CONTACTED, DON'T FUCKING DO IT You may think that you're educated, and can beat them on their own turf. Sorry, but it will NOT happen. Those guys are professionals at making anyone look like a complete idiot. They run their interviews the same way every time. They're always much longer than they appear on the show. They're also a lot more neutral or critical. But of course, you never see that. Anything that doesn't make you look like a bumbling idiot is cut. Don't think you can beat them on their home turf. Every week they always get a sucker that says to themselves "I'm gonna be the one to take down John Steward!" only to end up being turned into a laughing stock like all the rest. The show isn't suppose to be "Fair" or even factual at all. It's intended to be funny to our target demographics, which is staunchly in the anti-gg camp. The reason I'm posting this here is because I know our "faces" are smart enough to stay out of this. Thus, their staff are going to be hitting you guys, the average twitter warrior. They know you guys won't have the same experience with this crap, and can easily turn you into a giant fool. tl,dr You've got the eye of The Daily Show. They're looking for a pro-GG person to bring on and humiliate in front of the entire world. Don't take the bait.= Best case scenario is they get an obvious shill or troll, and you guys can debunk them and prove they were never a part of GG.
yeah i dunno. thoughts?

She is makes this into a case of Us VS Them without hesistation
from 8chan yeah i dunno. thoughts?
I think it's pretty obvious if you bring the factual information in, there's not really any way to spin "circle the wagons, get a lawyer, YOU FUCKED UP MY BRAND and a magic time traveling harassment chart. Implying that a consumer advocate is too stupid and can't defend themselves cooly and cleanly in an actual debate is absurd.
