I've been away from this whole ordeal for about a month, I was wondering if I could get a couple things cleared up. I thought when I stopped reading, the whole controversy was called Gamergate. Like, whether you wanted to talk about corruption or whether you wanted to talk about harrassment or whatever else. Did it become pro-GG vs. anti-GG because the "anti" side has made so many attempts to say "Gamergate is over" and "gamergate is dead" and "gamergate is not even a real thing" and "stop using #gamergate"? Also, what is LW1, LW2, LW3, etc.? And is it connected to the pissing contest i saw a few pages ago where quinn and wu were fighting over who is the biggest victim?
Anti gamergate is just an easy way of saying anyone against gamer gate LW is short for Literally Who, it's incentive to not talk about certain people because they thrive on attention and it undermines GG.
John Carmack isn't exactly irrelevant considering he is on board with Oculus Rift VR considering VR is getting bigger in the gaming industry.
the dude had a 28 inch 1080p monitor in the 90s do you think he cares at all about something like this. he is more code than man at this point
LW is short for Literally Who, it's incentive to not talk about certain people because they thrive on attention and it undermines GG.
Which clearly doesn't work when Brianna Wu makes it part of her twitter handle.

Anti-#GG is basically mostly people trying to shut down the hashtag/outrage/whatever by deflecting everything as misogyny. If anyone actually does reasonable reporting they get hardly branded as anti-#GG even if it's critical of the proponents.
Also, what is LW1, LW2, LW3, etc.? I think people also use it on Twitter because it's short. (That and it's technically a bit more difficult to paint out-of-context statements as harassment if you're not mentioned personally.) I think it's silly, so I'll just stick with last names (idk if that's really the norm in English, but using first or full names would feel weird to me and using initials is ugly in text).
in situations like this last names or online handle are most appropriate
Which clearly doesn't work when Brianna Wu makes it part of her twitter handle.
I actually haven't seen her effectively frame any LW tweets as harassing. Almost all the stuff she tweeted had her name, the rest was just complaining about getting a codename or something.
I actually haven't seen her effectively frame any LW tweets as harassing.
She's clearly aware of the title, so its not like she's disconnected from it somehow or its avoid giving her attention.
Yes, but she can't use it to frame anything to outsiders that well (which she may be negatively good at in the first place but that's besides the point).
To be honest, I enjoy listening to Sargon talk more on GamerGate than I do with InternetAristocrat or KingofPol
jesus christ what is happening to phil fish he's looking more and more like a sad john lennon
I guess he's preparing to end like John Lennon.
Just asked the lead client engineer of Riot Games on skype about this. This guy is a no-name player-support and doesnt represent Riot Games at all. His 'colleagues' are people who dont care enough about gg (which a majority of the internet doesnt either) Good job finding some some stupid shit to bag on a company of over 1000 people you know nothing about lmao. oh, ps kane. Tell me your league username and I'll see why you were banned personally. They dont permaban people for flaming/threatening others. Unless ya feel like your little anecdote is enough? :^)
Ive seen people get banned from just randoming a champion with pics/posts of the offense, not really surprising since how childish the mods are in LoL.
To be honest, I enjoy listening to Sargon talk more on GamerGate than I do with InternetAristocrat or KingofPol
I only found out that Sargon existed because of Gamergate. I really enjoy listening to a lot of his stuff as white noise while playing single player games or doing other stuff.
All of this makes me glad my "gaming heroes", like John Romero, John Carmack, and Warren Spector, either crashed and burned a long time ago (Romero and Spector) or became irrelevant years ago (Carmack).
All I have as my "Gaming heroes" at this point is Miyamoto... [t]http://i.imgur.com/xvS4gUK.jpg[/t] Its a shame he is getting pretty old but hey, he's enjoying the hobby!
Kazerad writes a lot of interesting things about GamerGate in general, but I wouldn't be surprised if most here disagree to some extent. It's likely that I think more highly of what he writes because I have a very similar stance in all of this: I'm actually more appalled by how unprofessional these journalists are than by the corruption (though that's a close second).
Wu is complaining about running with sensationalism. I just can't handle this anymore. I can seriously feel myself getting dumber the more I read what they say. My brain just wants to shut down.
I really enjoy listening to a lot of his stuff as white noise while playing single player games or doing other stuff.
Wow I'm not alone.
Ive seen people get banned from just randoming a champion with pics/posts of the offense, not really surprising since how childish the mods are in LoL.
That's the literally, #1 most shared around img and given without context The stupid fuck was trolling and playing ranked mode, and needed a champion, so he just randomed something. It's against the ToS to 1. Troll 2. Not try your best in ranked 3. Purposely attempt to undermine others. Dont bring up 2010 old stupid shit thats been spouted again and again edit: If you dont play league, its much harder to see why he was banned.

It doesn't have anything to do with GamerGate.
Now playing - Chokingonit.mp3
Funny enough, this was on 8Chan as I was browsing the thread [t]http://i.imgur.com/7QMWir2.jpg[/t] Anyhoo I'm gettin distracted, back to e-mailing!
Now playing - Chokingonit.mp3
I heard he canceled the gig after playing that song. [editline]2nd November 2014[/editline]
She's clearly aware of the title, so its not like she's disconnected from it somehow or its avoid giving her attention.
it's the same thing as how Zoe adopted "quinnspiracy" it's to make them seem like they're in on the joke and taking the power away from the words.
Welp, they failed.
No, don't do it! Think of your registry...

I took some small issue with TB's dismissal of the SJW label... but i didn't think it through. to be frank, it is often misused and thrown as an insult rather than an accurate descriptor. It is correct to denounce this usage, but just as with gamergate the uninformed picture of the worst does not always describe the full story, i guess. I have said before and i will echo the post's sentiment, SJW has a specific meaning with a valid usage. You could probably convince TB with an extended discussion but dunno. He is focused mainly on the ethical issues, and perhaps not enough on what's shielding these ethical issues from examination, which at this point is also quite important to understand why and how this is even happening.
No, don't do it! Think of your registry...
Fuck the registry! :v: [sp]Even though I didn't follow through with it because of the registry shit[/sp], it would still deserve the extremely nuclear way of uninstalling. But, there's an uninstaller which makes it not as nuclear as it can be.
For fucks sake Did anyone else listen to the latest livestream? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjXBLs5WxWQ What a fucking trainwreck Heres a summary for those who dont want to listen to the whole thing: The two chicks on the stream spend an inordinate amount of time discussing the taste of cum, IA is drunk and starts fucking his girlfriend, cue loud moans occasionally cutting in for the remainder of his podcast as he occasionally forgets to turn his audio off or doesnt realize his mic is hot, and worst of all KingofPol goes full retard and starts sperging out about and screaming "I want to redpill you man i need to redpill you man" and starts spouting holocaust denial shit and aliens while people nervously laugh in an attempt to get him to shut the fuck up, with even Sargon finally reaching his tether and telling him to stop talking, but like the awkward retard he is, he can't take a fucking hint. Jesus christ, the antiGGers are going to have a field day with this. Kingofpol just couldnt contain his retardation.
What the fuck.
Even if it was meant to advertise as a lazy & unrelated stream for GamerGate, thats kind of why I have been distancing myself from InternetAristocrat & listenin more to Sargon. (Especially considerin that IA says "Hes been out the loop of GG") I'm stickin with EventStatus & a newcomer named "Logical Black Guy" (Who does #Notyourshield streams)
