what does redpilling even mean. Is it literally like, the Matrix?
The name is taken from the Matrix, but it means that the person wants to know the truth no matter how painful or hard to hear it is. I honestly don't know why people throw it around as an insult.

I mean, I guess this is why, but still.

I only ever seen it used by nutters like reddit's redpill community (the one where all the alpha-males reside fucking all of the women) or now this.
I think it's because it implies a conspiracy, thats what it is. Cold hard truth in a sense that "the government covers shit up and the world is actually controlled by alien jews with lasers in their eyes", and cultural marxism (which I personally have no problem with as long as it's used like the patriarchy is, rather unfitting term for something that doesn't otherwise have a name) committee and shit".
So I heard you guys like hearing about harassment on the gamergate side?
Prepare to get assaulted with it.

mostly why its an insult may relate to r/theredpill its a sub full of cringge worthy accounts of how men make their SO into a low self esteemed servant waiting on them hand and foot and providing sex at their beck and call by degrading them and systemically abusing them.
What's with conspiracy theorists and "I'm not implying that, but you can go look it up for yourself!" Isn't it the same as "make your conclusions for yourself!" stuff that is used by every manipulative ideology to ever exist?

«I had sex with my wife once without her consent, that'll show her to deny my glory... what do you mean "rapist"?»
Im not sure if that is a direct quote or not from what I have seen it could very well be.

Almost. I read r/TumblrInAction and there was a link to a thread in TRP with a discussion that went almost literally like this. No jokes. A guy couldn't understand what the problem was - it's his wife after all!
Frankly, as long as CH Sommers and TB keep it up with their awesomeness, GG won't be failing anytime soon.
And here's journalist Cathy Young commenting on Anita Sarkeesian's style of critiquing, retweeted by Based Mom herself (spoiler alert: Young thinks AS is full of shit): http://cathyyoung.wordpress.com/2014/11/01/anita-sarkeesian-book-film-critic/

those are clearly two white hetero males in the video, so obvious
kingofpol is talkin about last night on stream and i think he is apologizing for it but im not sure (got in halfway into him talkin about it)
fucking LOL and KOP called me too "trolly" when I went on his show
This is hilarious
Who cares though? If a reasonable, well spoken, and intelligent person supporting GG doesn't make us right, why would a crazy nutcase supporting GG make us wrong?
I always new KingofPol and IA were creepy nuts but hoooooly shit.

How the fuck is IA creepy? He fucked his girlfriend and left his mic on by accident. It was stupid drunk fun but it wasn't "creepy", I'm not sure what extraterrestial society you come from but normal people here engage in sexual relations with people they are attracted to.
KOP is just a fucking idiot, but again, creepy?
Denton: I think technological change is going to be great for the rejuvenation of decrepit economic systems like that of the United States. This country is encrusted with privilege, mediocrity. It has early signs of sclerosis. This society needs a big jolt. It needs a big cleansing.

I don't know, I guess IA always seemed creepily obsessed with whatever he talked about during his videos, but it may just be me.

I've only watched parts of the stream, but if that's true, calling him creepy isn't that strange. Ontop of that, the fact that he haven't removed the video yet is just weird. I'd personally remove a youtube clip with recorded audio of me having sex. Maybe that's just me.
Anyway, as many already have said, this doesn't really affect the arguments put forward by gamergate. Still fun to talk about though.
-meh, snip.-
Deleting it would probably incur streisand effect.
That's a good point. I'd probably remove it in a state of panic as soon as I realized, maybe IA is better than me in that regard.
Deleting it would probably incur streisand effect.
Which gamergate is all too familiar with, on multiple examples of our opponents. I believe that this is the reasoning.

On the other hand, he appears to be making light of what happened. This event made him look like a incompetent buffoon and exacerbated his alcoholism. IA spends most of his time in the videos making others look like idiots, yet it's okay for him to do something gross and stupid because hey, why not?
If anyone in gaming journalism or the like did something like this, it would be career suicide. This is not acceptable behavior.

This stream thing got me a bit conflicted;
On one hand we have, the transparency aspect of GG, which makes me support IA for having the decency to own up to the stupid shit he did, and, not pretend it didn't happen.
On the other hand, what he did on stream was stupid, really stupid, letting his private life interfere with a stream, the way it did, knowing he is a noticable figure of this whole shit storm, and going out and doing what he did.
And then we go back again to judging someone's work based on their merit alone, and not on the actions of the creator, ad hominen.
I really don't know, I like Jim I really do, but this was so completly out of the norm for him.

An imagined instance is more impactful than an explained instance.
Deleting it means the other side can make up what happened and exaggerate what happened.
Frankly from what I've read he accidentally had sex, with a microphone on. I fail to see what is inherently gross about that. And "exacerbated alcoholism" is laughable at best.
IA is hardly owning up to it. Like, sure, he acknowledges that it happened, but his responses thus far could be summed up in "yeah I just embarrassed myself in front of 2500 people, what of it? it's not a big deal", which is almost the same as pretending it didn't happen in my book.

Then he "accidentally" uploaded it to youtube and then made a joke about it on twitter
