it's official, IA is out of gamergate temporarily due to the saturday stream and because he didn't want to become a e-celeb.
he might come back.
Huh,I never saw any of his stuff.
I know we should be better than gossiping about appearances, but this was just too funny to pass.

so from what this reads is that some journos on the games journos pros list didn't all exactly see eye-to-eye.

Pure evil.
I feel like we're finally reaching a turning point.
Oh no.
This is one long haul.
Very long haul, and the hate parade will retreat before they get completely demolished, only to return later.
I feel like we're finally reaching a turning point.
If you haven't learned by now, there are no turning points. Its more like a pair of ships at sea, fighting each other in the middle of a raging storm. This is more of a swell coming up.
-debunked, thanks for all da stars-

Oh don't worry, it'll go on, and on, and on.
Best guess within 3 months another random indie dev, who is about to release a game~~ comes up and says she is getting death threats too. It's gonna be about attrition, unfortunately.
Man is today quite a good day, eh?

That is an interesting thing. They've all seen that it will work. Put on an innocent, weak face and shout about evil gamers coming after you. You'll have storms of people coming to your rescue. But the problem with that is quickly people expect more, just saying you've been harassed or threatened won't draw as many people. So you have to up the stakes, the claims have to be more shocking and grand. And as more people try this and the cons get more complex, the potential for slip ups and errors will escalate quickly.
We've already seen it beginning, what with Brianna Wu when she posted that image on her twitter supposedly from 8chan, and people quickly showed it was created before she even went public about her threats, and it couldn't have come from 8chan. She slipped up, but caught it quickly and it was benign enough that it didn't do much to people. But as the stakes get higher, the consequences do as well.
The trick will keep getting used, but once someone slips up, the whole thing is going collapse.

Direct evidence of Gawker paying anti-GGers, Cernovich reveals his ace and the FBI with the FTC are on the case!
Starting now, on this very exciting episode of Gamergate!
Remember when cameralady or whatever claimed to have evidence of racketeering? Remember when Milo dropped that "bombshell" that was just waved off like it was nothing? Why is this any different?

Cernovich has a snitch for his upcoming legal case.

FBI is actually investigating the racketeering. Government agencies take a long time to actually get stuff done.
Cernovich has a snitch for his upcoming legal case.
doesn't mean anything will come of it really.
Gawker is clearly one of the chief antagonists here, the only solid thing that can be done is weakening their site until it slides further into irrelevancy. Just keep poking the bear and using the outbursts as ammo to pull advertisers from any AGG sites.
If I recall correctly, the Cameralady lead was "dropped" in the public eye specifically because they were told that publicizing any more could compromise legal investigations.
