The only reason people used it against anti-GG was because those were the rules anti-GG set up and to point them out as hypocrites, even if they're so entrenched in the idea that they're absolutely right that they deny it. My experience in all of this has been that no matter what language you use, no matter how you argue, if people want to believe that you're misogynistic/ableist/racist then they'll find something to support that belief. People would only find it ableist if they already believed we were ableist, and if they didn't find us using ableist language then they would find someone who did and project that onto everyone. No point worrying about that kind of useless scenario.

In some sense it's asking people to self-censor... i said this previously in reference to the issues of guilt by association but it's somewhat applicable again here. The question you need to ask yourself is whether or not it's ok to dismiss an argument based on the tone/type of words used rather than through the central point. Im not disagreeing with your central point, yes for strategic PR purposes it's better to be polite and avoid triggering the ever loving shit out of people because they tend to focus on that instead of your point. But at the same time, one of the things worth arguing against is the idea that it's OK or acceptable to dismiss an argument, in a realm of public discourse, for only tone. But it's not an ideal world is it and we're not really at the point where we can make vulcans out of everyone. Yet. And yeah lots of sites don't allow you to use certain language. Thats fine, FP is the same way, but at a certain point it becomes an excuse for actual censorship, aka banning people or dismissing their argument because of tone, see neogaf for the worst example of this(boogie in particular).
