And why the fuck should we be donating to Felicia Day who I quite frankly have no idea what she is famous for?
I think she was in some machinima series back when World of Warcraft was popular. All I remember is a song about how you want to wingdangdoodle her toon.

That first tweet makes me angry. So fucking angry.
Yes, Brianna is a trans woman.
Yes, she should be treated with human decency and respect, and treated like any other human being.
Yes, that includes acknowledging when she's fucked up.
I still don't know if she really did fake any of this stuff, and I don't want to assume that somebody faked death threats without absolute, conclusive and unfalsifiable proof. However, her tweeting her own location after receiving one is at best woefully naïve, and at worst a suggestion that these threats may have, in fact, been faked.
I can't believe that we were accused of 'weaponising minorities' and yet people are using her minority status as a reason for her to suddenly be infallible. I am disgusted at anyone, supporting #GamerGate or not, who raise Brianna's gender identity as anything other than an irrelevant piece of information unless she has received abuse directly related to it. But as a trans person myself, I would much rather that if I fucked up, I were treated the exact same way as any cis woman, man, or indeed any other human being.
man i'm glad i never bought overgrowth
Its a skewed statistic.
It comes from a study that says that 4 out of 5 women who live on college campuses claim to have been sexually harassed.
[editline]7th November 2014[/editline]
The media took it and said that 4 out of 5 women in america have been raped.
Oh, the 4 out of 5 things is stupid too. Because...
college women is not high; “only” about 1 in 36 college women (2.8 per-
cent) experience a completed rape or attempted rape in an academic year.
Such a conclusion, however, misses critical, and potentially disquieting,
implications. The figures measure victimization for slightly more than half a
year (6.91 months). Projecting results beyond this reference period is prob-
lematic for a number of reasons, such as assuming that the risk of victimiza-
tion is the same during summer months and remains stable over a person’s
time in college. However, if the 2.8 percent victimization figure is calculated
for a 1-year period, the data suggest that nearly 5 percent (4.9 percent) of
college women are victimized in any given calendar year. Over the course of
a college career—which now lasts an average of 5 years—the percentage of
completed or attempted rape victimization among women in higher educa-
tional institutions might climb to between one-fifth and one-quarter.

That quote about 4/5 women in my life being raped riles me something good since it's so obvious a skewed statistic.
Also there's something about the idea that you can wash yourself of all sins by donating to a patreon that rubs me the wrong way. That's such childish beliefs there. That's Fallout 3 levels of logic.
did the fucking guy who runs blizzard just take a shot at gamergate on the blizzcon main stage?
That's Fallout 3 levels of logic.
I always crack up when people use Fallout 3 to explain things like that.
I think Blizzard's CEO just attacked Gamergate without saying Gamergate at the opening ceremony of BI'm Blizzcon.
Hey guys, if you donate to Anita Sarkeesian, Brianna Wu, Zoe Quin, Felicia Day, and Arthur Chu then all is forgiven.
That is all it is about, money. And why the fuck should we be donating to Felicia Day who I quite frankly have no idea what she is famous for?

Just wanted to point out something that I stupidly just realized.
Donate to an actual charity - "They should be ashamed, weaponizing charity/ the charity taking blood money"
And the solution that he provides is to donate our "e-blood money" to Anita, Brianna, and Zoe instead.
The more i think about it, i think blizzard is just Anti-harrassment in general, they didn't pick sides and was just saying "hey fuckers quit being dicks to each other"
edit:
or it could be for something like this

yeah i don't think he was referring gamergate when he said that
Yeah I'm not going to associate with GG anymore. Especially with people like you. Good luck to those who aren't being shitty about this.
PS the part I bolded is blatantly wrong and you know this.
Those words in a large amount of the world aren't used against any specific gender, and insisting that they are does nothing helpful, what does anyone have to gain from making sure that those words end up being seen as implicitly sexist?

It's called "Paid Indulgence". Popular in the Catholic Church before the Lutheran reforms and counter-reforms, it was designed as an easy method of supporting God and repenting for your sins by offering the bishopric(or the Pope himself) money in exchange for forgiveness of sin. Needless to say, it was abused to Hell and back in order to fuel personal funds of the Church.
I don't think I need to point out the parallels.
yeah i don't think he was referring gamergate when he said that
well what he said was vague enough for people to assume that
-Past couple of months, Gamergate is goin on month 3.
-Anti-Harrassment, which gamergate is accused of
-"We are gamers." Line
But yea, I can see it as a anti-harrassment thing in general.
Looks like Totalbiscuit is in an argument on what he meant right now on Twitter.
@bmkibler @day9tv @mikemorhaime He spoke out against harassment, not #Gamergate - conflating the two is a fallacy.
it's probably best to ignore what he said unless he decides to clarify
i'm just watching for the SC2 finals
it's probably best to ignore what he said unless he decides to clarify
they are going to clarify it because everyone is taking it out of context on twitter right now
they are going to clarify it because everyone is taking it out of context on twitter right now
they'll probably reword it to be as inoffensive as possible once they realize the shitstorm they just dipped into
my mother who's never held a controller but is vehemently anti-gamer gate today was talking about how that guy that strangled the woman is totally a part of gamergate because it shows how serious death threats are and how brave brianna wu is
I get that that was a serious tragedy but can we not lump that as part of gamergate when it's so obviously irrelevant
He just confirmed post Opening ceremony that he was talking about Gamergate.

Why do clueless companies feel the need to butt in?

*facepalm* God damnit, is it really too hard to just say "harassment is bad, mmkay?" and just walk off the stage?
Why do clueless companies feel the need to butt in?
Well, there goes another drama-bubble.
(Personally I don't care about Blizzard in the slightest, since I have zero interest in their games. It's still disappointing if they don't do research.)

It is behind a pay wall for the Blizzcon Virtual Ticket. It was during the post-opening ceremonies interview with Geoff Keighley.
Also, a topic relating to this just popped up on the Blizzcon Forums.
Wonder how long until it gets locked or a blue responses.

According to TB that was Geoff Keighley, not Mike
I have no idea who these two are but there you have it
