He condemned harassers, not Gamergate as a whole. That sounds a-okay to me. It's the same thing we have been doing since the very beginning. Unfortunately that doesn't mean people against GG won't spin his words into whatever they want them to be. As expected Kotaku was very quick in that regard.
respect for rogue star. he gives great advice.
when emailing advertisers, copy and paste the body of the email into a twitlonger and tweet it to that company as well. saturate the twitter feed because it's harder to ignore. also don't mention #gamergate in the email itself. keep it to the violation of terms.
just a reminder!
is dorito pope finally joining the battle?
I was hoping he'd stay neutral forever
It is behind a pay wall for the Blizzcon Virtual Ticket. It was during the post-opening ceremonies interview with Geoff Keighley.
Also, a topic relating to this just popped up on the Blizzcon Forums.
Wonder how long until it gets locked or a blue responses.
Allow me to remain skeptical, then.

Good thing I did.
Confirmation bias, people. Don't buy into things just because they support your argument even though there's no evidence.
Well, there goes another drama-bubble.
(Personally I don't care about Blizzard in the slightest, since I have zero interest in their games. It's still disappointing if they don't do research.)
Nevermind, seems like I was wrong.
According to TB that was Geoff Keighley, not Mike
I have no idea who these two are but there you have it
I could have sworn that Mike said Yep to it after Geoff Keighley said it, but Totalbiscuit said otherwise.
Going to have to rewind it.
EDIT: Totalbiscuit is going to reupload the clip.
TB also said the accusations are actually false. Move on.

Bad wording on my part. However, this is still confirmation bias, it just "confirmed" that Geoff was against GG, so people took that info and ran with it without checking for evidence because people love to have excuses to hate Geoff.

I'm more inclined to think that if he did it was to reference the whole "gamergate debate" than gamergate itself, I haven't seen the clip but from what I heard it was just mentioned really quickly and moved on right affer
I mean if he wanted to take a side he would have done so on stage
Here is the clip in question:

Doesn't work at the moment for embeded. Open it up in Youtube.
He just remained silent while Geoff tried to tie it to GamerGate. Mike couldn't respond to that without interrupting him because Geoff then changed the subject to Blizzard, which he'd much rather talk about.

I said this in the /gg/ thread about this, we should send a few e-mails to Blizzard explaining to them that Kotaku is twisting their words, that GG condemns harassment and has produced positive results (Escapist changing ethics policies, etc.), and call for the CEO to make a clarifying statement that his words were not directed toward GamerGate.
The article would then not only be narrative spinning garbage, but exposed to the public as blatant lies and possibly even libel.

Not even that is exactly against gamergate, nice.

In the comments Totillo said that the article is only referring to harassment during the "GamerGate saga" and not specifically harassment caused by GamerGate, but then the article says this:
He didn't call it GamerGate, but come on: we all know what he was talking about, right?
Which is a comment obviously talking about GamerGate.
If they wanted to talk about harassment during the "GamerGate saga" they should have just generalized harassment.

I don't know the guy but as an ubiased watcher I didn't feel like Geoff tried to maliciously pin it on gamergate, "address" is a fairly neutral word.
Again I feel like a lot of people use the term "gamergate" while meaning "the gamergate matter", given that the two sides are often referred as "pro-gamergate" and "anti-gamergate".

Fair enough. I see what you mean. Yeah, I could've done a better job wording that first sentence.

It's the same bullshit argument they used to defend the gamers are dead articles.
"No guys! When we said gamers were fucking dead, we just meant the mean kind we don't like!"

I love that argument. It just reminds me so much of "Now when I say 'I hate niggers', I don't mean every n- BLACK PERSON, I just mean the ones who steal and scrounge off taxpayer money!"

But when people say "we condemn corrupt gaming journalists" the go "OMG DON'T CALL ALL JOURNALISTS CORRUPT! #GamerGate #NotAllJournalists"

They say both. First tries to unite all of gaming journalism under their banner (which is actually a torn strip of dirty used toilet paper strapped to a rusty piece of rebar, but they don't seem to notice), the other is just old solidified bullshit with no thought put into it at all.
You're talking about the Liana K interview right? Those are not her words, she simply said "that is how it is", she never said it should be done that way and neither that it has no effect on your decision. In fact she said the current system is bad for newcomers
If anything she simply said that you can be offered the hardware needed to review a game without the company's intention necessarily being of bribing you, and I tend to agree with that reasoning even if I don't agree with the actual practice of doing so.
No, she equivocated flat out, essentially saying "well everyone else does it that way so it's gotta be that way, and here are things I like about it and things I don't."
That is not remotely the same thing as objectively critiquing it. It's entirely "muh feels", and as we can see after twenty years of this, "muh feels" leads to shit like Halo 2, and A:CM and Watch Dogs/UbiSoft in general and Human Head being hung out to dry with no support from the reporters they chummed up with to get Prey 2 on the map in the first place.
"muh feels, yours should be like mine, kk?" is not fucking working. All it's doing is harming people who have questions by giving them a blanket monolithic answer based on OVERT social pressuring. That's not any better than the assholes fucking with people online based on their gender, identity or political/social/logistical background.
Someone happily smiling as they kick you in the nads is still getting kicked in the nads.

It's a better one than I could come up with. :v:
First, five syllables.
Second, seven syllables.
Third, five syllables.

What the hell are you talking about? That game was produced 10 years before any of this was a problem.
uh-oh, I don't know how much if this will impact, or at all.
