I don't blame Pakman for saying "it's just video games", he actually has a job outside of video game journalism. Nonetheless, he's been a fair guy in all of this, and for that, I respect him.

"just vidya games" is the literal future of storytelling, period. By 2050 movies and video games are going to be the same thing, completely under the users' control. I understand his sentiment, and it's flat ass wrong. The politicization of movies took 6 decades to recover from, and comics [I]never[/I] recovered. So while he's right in the sense it's one issue amongst many, and there are certainly many other more important things to worry about with greater gravity, this bullshit is a little more serious than he makes it out to be; someone should email him that. His thesis also brings a rather salient point about SJW; there are people all over the world in deep shit and SJW literally has jack shit to say about the plight of these people or others under [I]actual[/I] authoritarian rule; all I've seen is militant narcissism, unless I'm simply not looking in the right places, kazerad and reimu aren't exactly a populous list.

Which is fine by itself but you can't trivialize something just because it's not the most important thing in the world. Why fight for gay rights, gender equality when there's wars raging in the world? Why talk about politics and economy when milions of childrens die every year in developing countries? I honestly expected something better from him. Like, anything but "it's just videogames I don't really care about any of this". I mean come on, what kind of opinion piece is that? Why even go there? He was rather vague due the rest of the video so I didn't really find it particularly interesting, just that part kinda ticked me off
