Did they at least interview someone on the GG side?
Nope. They went to PAX and asked a bunch of randoms there what they thought.
So, the report on Gamergate aired...
They interviewed Wu, and says that Quinn was falsely accused, which started the whole thing, and that the FBI is involved because of evil gamers.
Jesus Christ, ABC. You're not supposed to be biased.

Some tweets from one of the ABC's tech writers.
And thanks for the link, also. Tried finding it on the 7:30 website, but it wasn't there yet.
jesus. most of that video is very easily provable misinformation or straight up lies
Ryulong removed the neutrality POV tag on wikipedia again
his reasoning:
Because the community at large, and not the vocal minority of editors on this talk page who believe the content of the page is biased, came to the conclusion that it was against Wikipedia's policies and guidelines to have this article persistently tagged as being "biased". Four separate editors who had never edited this article or its talk page before removed the tag and have been reverted time and time again by users heavily involved in editing the article rather than anyone who as any actual points as to how this article is biased (outside of Masem's arguments that it needs to treat both "sides" of the "debate" equally).—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 08:54, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
It is up on the iview section now but I found that one under their Vodcast area. I thought the ABC would be more open to viewing both sides of the story rather than just jumping on the 'its a harassment campaign!' bandwagon.

If I happened to hold bureaucrat status on Wikipedia I'd just block the fuck out of him and strip his administrative rights, even if that meant that I lost my status in the process.

Keep in mind that their job isn't to pick up the media's trash but to point it out. so if they do report on it, all they will say is there is clear bias in the interview, and not go into any details.

I hope so because MediaWatch releases each episode for free online, I can use it along with this:

These are unbiased sources showing how anti-gamergate parties have lied and made up stuff.
Holy shit, that ABC video was pretty disgusting.
It's quite evident that liberal media is just as biased as the conservative one. Most FP users just never noticed because its bias confirmed their opinions. Now that our demographic is suddenly on the "wrong" side, video games and gamers can be smeared with great gusto.
The same media that defended games and gamers from the "oh no violence" claims now happily gobbles up and repeats the "games and gamers are misogynists" statements because they never actually cared about videogames, or violence, or anything. The chief reason Jack Thompson and his ilk were ridiculed back then was because they were conservatives. If, say, Sarkeesian or Fish or Burch or whoever else happens to be the convenient mouthpiece came out with the same arguments against violent videogames verbatim as Thompson did back then, you can be fucking sure it would be treated with serious concern by the same media outlets that did their best to prove Thompson's arguments as incorrect back in the day, all you have to do is replace the reasoning with a liberal one.
As you can tell I'm quite disillusioned with the American flavour of liberalism.

Yeah. Instead of everything being the jews fault, it's the white capitalists.

I wouldn't call them unbiased per se, but they are intellectually honest so it doesn't matter.
According to Wikipedia the Gamergate controversy page is now from a neutral point of view.

And what does the cheerdance competition have to do with this? I'm genuinely confused.
McIntosh is trying to play the "I'm actually poor guys!" card, which is hilarious since he lives in San Franciso and has shown no signs of financial dififculty. He lives in the Mission District, so I checked the costs for a renting an apartment in there. The absolute lowest price I found was $2,100. To live there for a year, it would cost $25200, which is higher than the amount of money some people make in a goddamn year.
I dont know how to read into these things very well. not sure what this means for the future of twitter "harassment"
http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2014/11/one-small-but-important-effort-to-make-twitter-safe-for-women/382484/
they say "superpowers" but all I can tell is that they can point to "harassment" tweets and tell twitter mods to look at them right away.
Went around letting arbitration members know what is going on and laying out facts that support both article reliability or source reliability. They outlined a couple of additional facts for me while they were viewing the article and editors : (Each paragraph a different person)
WP:INVOLVED
In general, editors should not act as administrators in disputed cases in which they have been involved. This is because involved administrators may have, or may be seen as having, a conflict of interest in disputes they have been a party to or have strong feelings about. Involvement is generally construed very broadly by the community, to include current or past conflicts with an editor (or editors), and disputes on topics, regardless of the nature, age, or outcome of the dispute.
There is also a conflict of interest and administrators with clear political goals, which source-reliable group claimed article reliable people were doing :
(Proof)
Statistics disagree : Source-reliable claim that pro-gamersgate are a minority and therefore have no claim on the article.
Jimbo Wales (From arbitration request):
I wrote an opinion/admonishment about a particular incident of hostility towards another user more than two years ago. While I fully stand by the remarks I made then, I think that the passage of time means that more recent behavior is significantly more relevant. Speaking about general principles rather than the specifics of this case, I think that a generous and kind spirit should encourage us to both firmly reject such behavior, but also to warmly welcome change over time. I have no idea what the application of this would be in this case, because I have not reviewed the recent complaints and so have no comment about them.--Jimbo Wales
Reasons for sending it to arbitration
Both sides have no concept of neutrality and have clear goals. The article requires outside help, or should be deleted in it's entirety.

Admins of the article have not been enforcing the article in a fair, balanced matter, and have sent out community sanctions biased in application.
The only outcomes
-Ban of all editors from a specific side from editing the article
-Outright deletion of the article
-Outsourcing editors from other sections to preform research and edits
I'll continue doing what I can for the Wikipedia article, I have to remain as neutral as I can be, it boils down to article reliability (also known as Personal Research) or source reliability. It's not looking great so far, even if there is a high chance of arbitration accepting it (see above for outcomes if it is.) I'd like to remind everyone the last time this happened on this particular scale was with Scientology, if you know about wikipedia history.
Continue sending emails about companies/contacting people you know in the press/spreading word about this. Continue with ethics.
Noticed this in the arbitration part of wikipedia for gamergate.
While Operation Disrespect Nod is still making great headwind, a new front needs to be opened and reach out to major players who should naturally be our allies in this who have been deathly silent. Game developers and publishers.
We all know why they're being quiet. The game journalists have a stranglehold on them and to speak out against the journalists now would be tantamount to career suicide. Also, the journalists are making us look like total monsters who developers shouldn't associate with. While publishers and developers have done many wrongs in the past, politics make strange bedfellows and let's face it, we have a common enemy that we need everyone on board to fight. Many of us have come from different boards or cultures and put aside our animosity for this, we need to do that again.
Thus we have Operation Rebuild, an olive branch to developers and publishers.
With Operation Rebuild, we will reach out to developers within the game industry contacting both individual publishers and developers, along with the Entertainment Software Association and the Entertainment Merchants Association to support gamers' fight against corrupt journalism. We NEED to show that game developers can speak out publicly about the current culture of corruption without fear of backlash.
While e-mails are good, using traditional mail is our main objective since a person can easily ignore 100,000 e-mails dumped into your inbox, but they can't ignore a 1000 letters sent to your office. We need to write to the developers and publishers to show that we still exist, and love the games they create.
Here are the key points
Operation Rebuild relies on individuals who love video games to step up to join a letter writing campaign to developers and publishers. This will not only include e-mails, but also sending actual letters. Be sure to go over the following in your letter (Being polite and not going full retard are givens.)
1. Talk about your experiences, how gaming has affected you personally and what it means to you.
2. Show solidarity towards the developers, whether they are indie or corporate, who feel separated from us, the gamers, because of game journalists.
3. What are your experiences with game journalists and how have they positively or negatively impacted your experience with gaming?

FAQ
1. Why the fuck should we do this and listen to you?
Because this is a massively untapped resource that has not been put into play. And should you follow this operation? It's your choice. This is just one idea put into the marketplace of ideas and it's up to everyone here to decide if it's worth following.
2. Why should we help them, when developers and publishers created this mess in the first place?
Because like it or not, Journalists are a parasite on developers and they now have them by the balls so they can't act without a lot of good developers getting caught in the cross-fire. Also be pragmatic, we help out developers and publishers, guess who's going to be more likely to listen to us in the future if we come to their rescue?
3. What if I want to send a letter to a dev not on the list?
Do it, the more the merrier. Also be sure to post the address here so other people can do it.
4. This developer isn't even in my country, how am I supposed to e-mail them?
Mail is international, or see if the publisher has a local or regional branch.
5. I fucking hate (Insert publisher here) you're gone full retard if you think I'm going to mail them.
No one's going to force you to e-mail publisher you hate, but the more developers and publishers we can contact, the better it will be for developers who want to go public. It's the big picture here.
That wiki article makes me sick, if it doesn't get sorted soon wiki's credibility is going down the drain
Like holy shit I quickly skimmed through it and they cite this article: http://boingboing.net/2014/11/03/gamergates-color-scheme-is-a.html
Let's pretend for just one split second that this isn't some ridiculous bullshit, they spent an entire PARAGRAPH talking about the ALLEGATION that the movement's mascot is linked to a 9 years old image because of nothing but COLORS.
Not even trying to be subtle, I can't believe this hasn't been sorted yet.
