My game design teacher said something pretty inspiring today. If you want a little context, he's a lead game designer at a AAA studio in Montreal (not Ubisoft). He was doing a talk about how the studio and his team evolved during the last couple of years and he was comparing the comments that people wrote on Neogaf when they announced a certain spinoff, to the comments they got once the game actually came out. He concluded the talk by saying something like this: "Neogaf, if you don't know, is the fucking cesspool of the internet where people, including devs, go to complain to each other. If you don't wanna lose yourself, just take some time off the internet, go play some games and remember why you're doing this job. Especially with Gamergate going on right now. People on one side are saying that gamers are dead and sexists, while the other side is saying that it's the game journalists that are dead, so I just look around my desk, I see my colleagues play testing, modeling and coding with a smile on their faces and I just sit back and go 'nah'."

I've looked over the footage and it has less stuttering from me, the first GG video was actually scripted to some degree but I find I have a tendency to trip a lot when reading and talking. The video was a straight opinion piece so it doesn't rely on a lot of factual evidence, my main concern holding me back is on how it'll be received I'll throw the scraps in when needed but yeah, if I do manage to do it it'll be around ~11 minutes max, I appreciate the criticism and suggestions!

Such hate that has come out because of being in part civil in my experience brings forth such filth, but that's not in whole a bad thing because if they keep reaching more and more for that filth then they both drive themselves from sane common people and from that driving away suffer from seeing the world not as they see fit. I agree with Event. I know there's harrasement from our side and half the crap said really needs to be scrubbed out. I know not everyone is doing it but I've run into plenty of people who are using it as a pedestal to get more views.

TB acknowledged in that TwitLonger that wealth isn't the sole defining principle of privilege. He just used it as an example to show that race and gender aren't defining principles of privilege, either.
