which is why i recommend it, it has very little positive emotional feedback in it. it isn't "oh i don't enjoy it because it is bad" it is "i don't enjoy it because playing it makes me feel paranoid, hopeless, anxious, and afraid". i consider this a good thing and it is why i highly recommend it. even though they're working on a remastered version with not fucked up translations and better graphics, i say you should still play the original since the messed up translations and the shitty graphics add to the oppressive atmosphere so much

Linking fun to mass slaughter as a game mechanic is like linking enjoying music to Nickelback, and then stating that we need to enjoy music less. It's a retarded statement that makes no sense. Do people not read books because they think it's fun? Is fun supposed to be some nonsensical [i]'tumbling around my room in my underwear tossing confetti everywhere'[/i] emotion? Of course not. Fun isn't an emotion. Fun is a state of mind. You can have fun reading the most sad and dramatic story ever. You can enjoy being scared off your chair by watching the most frightening horror movie. People can have fun watching documentaries and learning new things about topics that interest them. If watching those movies and sitting through those experiences wasn't fun, people wouldn't be doing them. McIntosh's entire argument can be summed up with "stop liking the things I don't like".
