I think those tweets exemplify my biggest problem with this whole fiasco. These people will literally make up and spread horrible lies to justify their toxic behavior. EDIT: Talking about people calling TB a racist.

It's because of this worldview they craft that they feel justified in being complete shits, they believe the situation is extreme so their extreme actions are reasonable. It's the basis of any extremism. The real world is far too nebulous and doesn't have any satisfying vitriol, so you paint it all black and white where you are the good guy and everyone opposing you are awful. Real problems are difficult to work out, so paint everyone as sociopaths with no basis but some poorly done sociological papers and a lot of bias. The problems are massive and gamers are literally psychopaths, so you need to listen and believe very closely.

I really dont like the "are they actual gamers?" argument because gamers is such a loose definition,but these people seem to unilaterally hate the very industry itself they only seem to see people as ugly monsters if they dont share their world view and agree with everything they say. Someone should alert them to the fact that if that is their world view they shouldnt look in the mirror.

They were happy with the industry when they were trying to change it using gaming journalists. They hate that they got caught and that they can't have the control over the industry they want....

Im looking at crazy people these people hit disturbingly close to home. I had the unfortunate luck of growing up with someone who lacked any and all decency,whose means always justified their own narcissistic needs and too this day denies they did anything malevolent. leaving your house for two hours is not fearing for your safety or well being dragging the ordeal out into public is not fearing for safety or well being .Very few people know where I live ,my name appears on my buildings directory as only occupied,some members of my family are only given my phone number and no other info,I took a job working in the oilfields because the person I was avoiding said they were on their way to my city and they knew where I lived .So I call bullshit on them believing they think they have actionable threats.

Not saying that she deserves harassment not threats, but of course when you do something like that you're going to piss people off, and some of those people aren't going to be nice about it. Hell, if you made a block list that had people on it because, say, they followed prominent republicans or republican supporters, you'd get a similar result.
