Even if Gamergate was a hate group (not even 1 out of 2), that doesn't taint our money somehow. When the KKK was blockading the Westboro Baptist Church, should the 'progressive' people have just knocked away their part of the barricade to let the WBC through, just to spite them?

Accepting donations from controversial groups and accepting money that was acquired illegally/through harming others isn't the same thing.
