Yeah, no.

"Devs/Publishers shouldn't be pressured or forced to do something or change just because the masses don't like it."
"That game SJWs don't like got rejected from being published? Damn the publisher for it! Fuck their choice in how they wish to be represented, they should do it because I feel thats what they should do."
This is the first time I have legitimately seen an indication of a mass of people not giving a damn about anything more than just getting back at SJWs and looking to spite them.
You have it completely backwards. Divinity original sin was in a way censored by being pressured by journalists to change it's promotional art.
GTA V, pressured into not being sold by Target.
How exactly is being annoyed that yet another game is being forced out because it offends different from anything prior?
I am kind of baffled as to what you are trying to claim. "Gamergate claims devs shouldn't be pressured to censor their work, now Gamergate is angry that devs are being pressured to censor their work"?
for all we know the hatred game was taken down for a ToS violation, so just because a game is surrounded by controversy doesn't necessarily mean it was taken down because of said controversy.
until i see any info that says otherwise, i don't think we should be treating the removal of hatred as an act of censorship.

Gamergate hasn't called for a game to be censored or removed.
It is calling for a studio to change its actions to fit its views, instead of simply letting the studio do its own things. Trying to pressure them in to do something they obviously don't want to.

Frankly I don't see what you are refering to.
Either way this should probably be kept to the Hatred thread. The connection to GG is tenuous at best.

"...having my own opinion..."
next tweet
"I offered a reasonable critique..."
Really how confused do you have to be with yourself to forget what you said 3 minutes ago. I'm surprised the devs didn't point that out and not bother trying to argue it.
Frankly I don't see what you are refering to.

The point he is trying to make is that Valve acted on their own accord without ANY outside pressure.
He's saying that since we want devs to do exactly that, we shouldn't go up in arms being angry at Valve and try to PRESSURE them into changing their decision.
I neither agree or disagree since I don't know fully whats going on.
If Hatred gets removed so should The Binding of Isaac, that game is violent, filled with literal shit, filled with depictions of parental abuse and neglect, and above all it's filled to the brim with blasphemy and could be seen as horribly offensive to Christians. It depicts Isaac's Mom as a cold abuser led by her fucking going crazy over her own religion.
Valve is being two-faced about this, that's why people are mad, Zedacon.
Anyways, like someone said, this is hardly related to GG. No point whining right now.
If Hatred gets removed so should The Binding of Isaac, that game is violent, filled with literal shit, filled with depictions of parental abuse and neglect, and above all it's filled to the brim with blasphemy and could be seen as horribly offensive to Christians. Valve is being two-faced about this, that's why people are mad, Zedacon. That's all that needs to be said.
Theres nothing two faced from Valve, its all from the people in this thread. Again, its this manipulation of context that I take umbrage with. The devs have said since the beginning the game is solely about mass murder. They've never put up any pretext about it being anything other than glorification of said acts.
And they do not have to endorse it. When a game is so solely focused on such a message, they don't want to be repeating that message.
People talk about AGG double-think, Hatred has brought it out in full force for most people here.
today has been one hell of a day. i get a huge email from my former boss (not former now!!!!!1) with all these fowarded over. thank you guys for showing your support and thank you for sticking up for me.
for the record though, i want everybody to know: what happened last week was not some big, horrible asshole decision from my job. and those last 3 emails that were sent (today, apparently?) are really not the way to go about showing support. i told you guys that the decision to leave was based on mutual interest. threatening the company doesnt help me any and its not something id ever ask anyone to do.
anyway im ready to put all this shit behind and move on with life. lessons learned etc etc
still gonna be a while before more comics happen
Sure sounds like it was taken down based on the controversy and content.
That game is going to be massive success solely based on the controversy surrounding it. I think that's what they are aiming for, though.

Valve does not want Hatred game on steam for violence and controversy surrounding it, despite equally violent games being on steam already

I kind of feel a little more ok with this. They were warned, for what it's worth. I'm not sure what would've changed Valve's mind though.
there is a definite difference between offering critique and calling some racist, sexist, ect without an ounce of truth.
It seems members of the media dont get this,a good example of it would be Nancy Grace who after calling the Duke Lacross team rapists for months never apologized while its leagues apart in impact its still the same behavior.

not to mention John Carmack himself said he doesn't give a single fuck about picking women or minorities or people in general. if you have the skills and dedication to work on the team, then you're in. Hes not going to let people in for equality, he wants to hire people for quality.

Chernovich left his home for a while while that one SJW publicly promoted filing false police reports against him, trying to SWAT him. The details are on his personal/lawyering blog.
Otherwise... I think one guy was (allegedly) assaulted by his ex and her friends over misrepresentation of him, but I have no idea what the precise context was and he asked people not to make a big deal of it.

At some point its reaches a level of ridiculousness where you cannot argue with their stupidity.
Workplace doesn't hire you? Oh its because they're sexist/racist not because there were better candidates
Workplace does hire you and you quit because its too hard? Oh its because of the "toxic" environment
Workplaces fires you for failing to meet standards? they were *targeting* you because of your gender/race

I voted for Bayonetta 2 because as far as I'm concerned I'd like the game more.
(I'm not terribly partial to Dragon Age's genre.)
Spite-voting is stupid, but I suppose it's a nice bonus if you were going to do it anyway :v:
(I also already have an account, I wouldn't have made one just to vote.)
This is what Steam is trying to be. Valve want the community to manage the storefronts. Blame the community for being fucking terrible and letting the shovelware in.
[editline]15th December 2014[/editline]
Terrible examples. Neither of those games promote the mindless mass murder of civilians. Yes you can kill everyone you come across in GTA, but there are consequences, same with the Payday series, you lose quite a bit of money for killing civilians.
Hatred so far has shown nothing that tells us it's a satire or anything, as far as we know and the devs will tell us, it's just promoting mass murder for vague "fuck tumblr" reasons.
The problem is the idea that games have a responsibility of moral conformism, which you seem to accept. It doesn't matter whether game penalizes bad deeds or not, it's enough that people disagree with the content.
GTA removal proves this because it's not mechanically misogynistic in any way but still came under fire because of "promoting misogynism".

Seriously though, this kind of bait-and-switch backfires horribly/terrifically easily when done in writing.
Why anyone would ever do it this way is beyond me.

Ah right, I forgot about that part of the response.
Any news about corruption and such?
I know Gamergate at this point has moved beyond its original scope but I'm curious. And yes I have been reading and I'm trying to steer this wild ride.
Hard to find any NEW corruption when Gamergate is sitting there waiting to choke and strangle any journalist who dares pulls any new bullcrap.
