I understand where you're coming from, and for the record, I agree. All I'm saying is there is no point in something like that getting blown out of proportion, just to be turned around and used against GG as a "See, all they do is harass women!" thing. It's something that has nothing to do with GG, and honestly, it shouldn't. We shouldn't be in this for ad-hominem.
It's still worth starting an investigation because in my opinion, that bucket looks like acrylic paint, not dye. Dye is MUCH darker and the dogs fur looks like it just had paint washed out of it, not dyed. Properly dyed fur would be a solid color, not mixes of the original fur color and the color attempted. If you go to google images and search for pet dye or just regular dye, every image you're going to find is going to be an extremely dark version of the color. Dye isn't that thick either, its a very thin substance compared to latex or acrylic paint, which I'm almost POSITIVE is in that bucket. Should also note that dye is usually concentrated, a bucket that big is fucking OVERKILL if you're dying something.

If you want to pursue this as a concerned individual, that's fine. But gamergate as a group shouldn't push for it, because it has nothing to do with video games and will only give AGG fuel.

I don't even associate with GG.

That's a thing that happened. But it's about ethics in journalism, right?

Huge number of GamerGaters are grievously upset that I used animal-friendly dye on my dog before taking him to children's hospitals. Yup.
You would be correct. Stop grasping at straws, people. I would like to remind everyone of the thread title. [editline]a[/editline] Fuck this I am starting a consumers union. Ya'll can expect shit soon. Enough is enough.
You would be correct. Stop grasping at straws, people. I would like to remind everyone of the thread title.
But can those claims be proven? Trust and verify, right?
But can those claims be proven? Trust and verify, right?
It doesn't matter, it has first of all nothing to do with gamersgate, secondly we made the instantaneous assumption that she was doing something bad simply because shes a "batshit crazy feminist!" - Which makes us just as bad as them. Stop making assumptions and verify that your claims, not rumors - are correct. It could very well be paint - sure - but we have no proof of that and have no right to assume that, as they have no right to assume we are a hate group and they have no proof or right to assume that. We have no reason to give them attention or ammo, do something about it in your private life if you think they are guilty.
But can those claims be proven? Trust and verify, right?
The problem is that while I'm not going to assume that she's doing anything illegal because I can't prove it, the people who follow her will not ask for proof that it was GG who reported her. They will instead take her word for it without proving or verifying. Welcome to dealing with people who use heresay as proof.

[editline]a[/editline] In actual news, Patreon will be updating it's guidelines after complaints from multiple Anti-gger's This will be fun.

The bigger issue is that both sides are battling from an overly-emotional perspective. That makes the matter even more complex and more prone to harassment.
How about a Space Invader?
Copyrighted! [editline]a[/editline] P.S, I am serious. They want a union, they'll get a union. Somebody just has to step up and do it, guess that's gonna be me today.

play fair - fair play as for central symbology, shotgun, sword, key and a coin

If you want to setup something organized help start-up a union or organization - it doesn't need a website! It wouldn't make much sense to send a statement out as a random thread on FP. I'm sure lots of people would support a organization/union, since you seem to have the organizational skills to start one. (I might do it myself after I finish up with that Dota2FP league.) If you did; it would garner some support from skeptics as well.
I was thinking of a letter that is circulated about the internet and I would see it be completed democratically, but you do have a point. Even though starting an organization is tough I had experience with clubs and a little student government (I have a robert's rules of order book some. Was going to mention not having experience with a union, but if you want to push for it I'll join it. I don't know who to ask on union leadership positions, but I think it would be great to get some help and cement authority.
play fair - fair play as for central symbology, shotgun, sword, key and a coin
Tried a key instead and made a keyhole out of it... cool I guess. Since a union is democratic, we might as well have a democratic vote on a logo. So once I finish all of them we'll put um in a bunch and well, vote on a slogan and logo!
honestly I'm more interested in the work to get it going then a logo, logo's do give presence so I'm not coughing at that.
Here's the thing - I don't have the funds to host a website or anything special like that - so I am just writing dossiers and stuff. The logo is just the first step into making it real, gotta get others to notice it. Unions run on people - not money. (Well, most of em' anyways.)

So it seems like no actual corruption news has been found out for awhile, and the wind is kind of taken out of GG's sails. Honestly, in a way, it kind of makes me glad. We've already mostly accomplished what we set out to do, which was shine a huge spotlight on the shitty behaviour of Gawker and co., and they promptly tore themselves to pieces. We don't really have anything to do from here other than playing childish tit-for-tat with AGG. The things those in AGG did, they will never be able to live down, they're already on a downward spiral to irrelevance and the only thing we have to do is step away and watch them do it themselves. For now though I think I'm satisfied with where GG is now and don't really feel any need to continue to pursue it.

Gamersgate is a train that cannot stop rolling - it must at the very least form some sort of watchdog group to prevent this from happening again - remember, many companies and people are still craving to "gamers are dead." These people shouldn't represent us - We should represent us.

Gamergate has exploded past just ethical journalism like most movements evolve.
If GG has any more to do it will be to replace and overshadow the outlets who refuse to follow actual journalism and treat the community as a scapegoat and the industry as a whole a soapbox for them to stand on. If you break the journalistic clique that dictates what to and how to report on issues who in the past present and damn well we know future blacklisted people for differing opinion. If no more indie devs are faced with the issue of appeasing "gatekeepers" who hold more sway than they ought too that is the goals at this point. It would have been nice if this could be done without being labeled a monster and having mass media in general dogpile on us as they have done countless times in the past, but who here isnt used to not fitting in and being shunned ?

Journalists are the worst offenders - generating hatred and sensationalism for money, and that sort of action will not stand. [editline]20th December 2014[/editline] I am currently writing a call to action https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KY0UFSgcw31MYxuSx8ds1C4xNvyzyq5a1JbqZeKSMR4/edit?usp=sharing This will outline the unions goals, and why it's important for gaming consumers to become active in it. I want to be the absolute best it can be - Visit the article and comment on specific sentences while I am writing it, give suggestions and I will reply back as I write it. Just click Comments, then post your own comments on what you have currently selected. Please help write it up as the first step of starting to unionize democratically!
Im down for joining, gaming is one of the places I turn for normality in my life, along with other fringe subcultures.
