Metonymy. It's a nasty piece of rhetoric regularly used to (among benign applications) associate larger groups with the actions of a few. Though in this case it's probably at least in part accidental because the person who wrote that is evidently at least somewhat freaked out by the situation (which I would be too, but I pay close attention to targeting issues and not people). The default mode of the human brain seems to be to pattern-match a bit too much when in doubt, so it's important to make people aware of the issue when it happens. (This reminds me a bit of the #NotAllMen drama a while ago. Whatever that specific hashtag was about in the end, I think the complaint against overly broad language used by "feminists" is legitimate since that kind of thing [I]has[/I] a well documented history of inciting hatred. Though admittedly I don't know how effective it was. Looking at SJWs bouncing it back and forth now and taking it literally: Probably quite a bit. Twitters character limit is not excuse either, since it's perfectly possible to make an point accurately with a bit of effort.) 2. Wishing war crimes onto someone. That's too far no matter what. In any case, the first action when you read something like this should be to politely point out the issue (while packaging the complaint a bit more nicely than usual because this person here is definitely venting and won't be receptive to harsh criticism). If they seriously start defending it [I]then[/I] you can write them off as a crazy person. Otherwise it's likely they are probably "just" uninformed and slightly hateful, and may somewhat readily pay attention to it after being made aware of the issue.
