I can never read these. I always go through a few lines where something is just wrong, and then they try to justify or prove something on that line that has no basis and wonder how do people think any of that is true. Like do they just fill in the blanks themselves?

Hey, remember the last time something horrible was done in the name of the greater good?
I believe it was called the inquisition.
I don't get this whole Intel thing. They just said something incredibly generic good PR shit. Did they directly mention, or refer Gamergate, Sarkeesian or anyone? I'm not following CES2015, so unless they mentioned either of those, I don't get it. What probably happened is after they pulled out ads, their marketing department figured that doing this PR stunt would help them.
Diversity is a good thing guys, diversity quotas are dumb though. Hire people based on their skills and experiences, not because you have no black guys working currently at your company. People aren't pokemon, stop trying to get every minority in your company.

Gotta hire'em all!
I do agree with you though. Diversity is always nice, but diversity quotas are just fucking retarded. Especially in a field where you want the best person for the job, regardless of gender, race, or any other bullshit.
Yeah that quote was brought up before. You're not gonna hear much positivity about places like Japan, Korea, China, India, central asia, the middle east, or eastern europe from these guys. In spite of their sympathy for the perceived misfortunes of the people living in these places, their culture is just too incompatible to be considered worthy of their respect. You might see a kind remark made about africa, if only because lots of people aren't educated about africa at all. It's the exact opposite of places like San Francisco and Sweden, where the general willingness to "do the right thing" is applauded, but the perceived privilege of the people living there is considered a problem.
This is where the whole "cultural marxist" label certain people apply to SJWs falls apart. The way cultures are being handled here isn't marxist, it's extremely confused, inconsistent, and arbitrary.
Whoa there bro, slow down. The Swedish left is actually not as insane as SF left. It's not gone full circle yet.
I expect the "GAMERGATE IS DEAD" articles in a few hours, or at the very least "INTEL OPPOSES GAMERGATE"
Oh wait that was me woo
I love how no one is even slightly surprised, in fact someone predicted, that someone in the gaming media would try to spin Intel's decision into some grand gesture against Gamergate. It's not like Intel have even mentioned Gamergate at all right? Sadly it's just another example of how journalism these days often doesn't require any form of search for facts and is sometimes just someone's opinion dressed up as a news article.

Wouldn't that technically prove that he only made it non-charitable for malicious reasons?
article 13 and 14 of the Japanese constitution, which was set in place in 1946.
http://www.solon.org/Constitutions/Japan/English/english-Constitution.html
The US certainly destroyed a lot of their industrial and commercial capacity but we went in right after the war and helped put the country back together. This constitution was basically written by the United States and served as an attempt to "westernize" Japan after decades of traditionalist, military rule, a westernization that carried on to various aspects of Japanese life. Shows how little Sarkeesian knows about Japanese history.

This is what everyone thinks about 501(c)3's and lobbying in general. It's an attrocious degradation of democracy and freedom and the American way, right up until you get one that supports your policy ambitions.
It's like how Obama ran on taking money out of politics and "changing up Washington" then just opened up the rules for how much campaign donors can spend. Power corrupts.
My fucking god. Why are some of these people even allowed to exist? This just boils the piss in my brain.
My fucking god. Why are some of these people even allowed to exist? This just boils the piss in my brain.
Well I mean, if we didn't allow them to exist then you kinda get into engineering problems involving gassing huge portions of the population which can be pretty expensive and hurt productivity and ultimately GDP. Oh, and most people like to avoid being Nazis.
[editline]7th January 2015[/editline]
then again, if we just nuked san fran maybe nobody would notice.
nah, people would def notice, bad idea, forget i said anything.

I like the following quote from there:
[...], give it a retweet with the #CES2015 tag. We're literally fighting the world's spambots and clickbait journalism and still raking in ~%10 of the tag. How magical is that? [...]
Probably the same thing that goes through pro-life people's heads when they suddenly realise they need an abortion. They'll make an exception for themselves whilst still hating it. Doublethink at its prime.

They explicitly said they were funding Feminist Frequency and IGDA, among other organizations. Also to improve diversity.
Their support of FemFreq and IGDA is a legitimate issue, but the alleged opposition of GamerGate is a PR spin by the media.

At least there's some crowdfunded counter-lobbying too now. Not having it at all would still be better.

Why not support TFYC who at least proves they can put females in the game industry, apart from Femfreq that could only prove they're thiefs?
The slandering of TFYC stuck with it most likely, which is a shame. Wasn't it mostly people who supported FF that slandered it too?
This might be bullshit but if it's true Patreon just gained a lot of internet points for actually following though with enforcing their guidelines

@pixelgoth seems to want to drop the GamerGate/8chan issue, probably because she's fed up with Wu making so much money.
(Also possibly because /baphomet/ started going after her family. I hope this doesn't encourage them further, considering she half-credited them for it.)
(Also, wasn't she the one who wanted to bring down Patreon?
She has reactivated her page (linked in the archive), but it's probably set to private since it doesn't show up in the search.
In any case, if she stops being destructive that's good for everyone.)
I should probably check my emails more often but then again after over two months of nothing I wasn't expecting much.
Here is the response the CBC gave me.
It doesn't address much, never answered my question as to how David Pakman was considered "one of the first" to talk about Gamergate when it had been going on for over two months prior.
They also say that their report on Gamergate wasn't really a report on Gamergate.
That is almost a word for word repeat of the email I got from the CBC asking similar, but differently worded questions.
Wow, good job CBC, copy paste your replies.

They probably got half a ton of them, you can't really expect them to handle such a feedback spike normally.
[editline]8th January 2015[/editline]
Then again they are the CBC. No idea how much this was percentage-wise.

You guys should attach copies of both of your emails and responses, state your grievances, email the CBC again and CC your reps or whatever. Make a big stink about it and post the results. Don't let up and keep playing the war of attrition.
We're out here having a grand old time. Our jobs and reputations aren't on the line here.
They filled in the wrong Madlib .
