Just as a heads up, the pin Daphne is wearing in the first pic is part of a campaign by Maya Kramer. I wouldn't say it's a definite link to Maya and Zoe on it's own, but considering her behavior, it's pretty suspicious.

I wouldn't say it was even suspicious, it's likely she just bought into the bullshit Maya Kramer was spewing. She would've joined the campaign same as any other person in it, not as a key plotter behind it. It shows her allegiances, but that was already obvious.

Her apology sounds as if the bad space she was in is a valid reason for her behavior. Good apologies find a way to acknowledge hurtful behavior; bad apologies find a way to excuse or explain it. I don't trust this person at ALL. These kind of half-apologies ("I'm a bad person I'm sorry," "I wasn't feeling good I'm such a shit person sorry," etc) are a lot like the same bullshit that Zoe would pull in the chat logs.

For those who are still defending this as a protest against corruption in gaming journalism: How do you reconcile this view with the fact that ~gamers~ knew gaming journalism was corrupt as hell for a long time. Jeff Gerstmann getting fired from gamespot for giving Kane&Lynch a bad rating. That was in 2007. It took a woman having sex for everybody to get up on their soapboxes.

I've always thought I hated most indie games, that maybe the genre would never warm up to me this whole catastrophe has made me realize something: the reason I don't hear about the good indie games is because all the trash is being artificially bounced to the top by asshats like the ones involved in all this [editline]7th September 2014[/editline] it also helps me validate my feelings that Gone Home was a piece of garbage with mediocre writing at best

Of course there have been scandals before, but they were actually dealt with in an appropriate manner rather than fanning the flames. I don't think it really matters any more what started it, everything has started snowballing and the years of pent up frustration with the corruption is boiling over. People might play up women getting shit, but pretty much everyone is a target and any show of corruption by men is just as bad as by women.

Unless he's drunk so much of the kool-aid, he won't deny Zoe has sexual urges that he can't sate. and have no problem with her sleeping with other people. I got this from a tweet, but the ultimate irony about the whole GamerGate thing is that "better-than-thou" nerds somehow thought they could get away with bullying other nerds, who have often been bullied in the past. Did they really think gamers would simply take this in the ass? I mean, they're nerds; they don't take bullying because of past experiences and the have the tools and know-how to punch holes in the anti-Gamergate people's stories. I guess when you're involved in a hipster circle jerk for several years you tend to forget about how people like you that aren't in your little group actually behave.

You know how on steam, there's a metacritic score? Valve should change that, only indie games that actively try and get press coverage actually have enough metacritic scores. It should be based on the steam reviews, there's so much more honesty in that I find.
