Shit like this really fucking discredits the anti-gamergate side and shows how much of a bunch of grubby cunts they are.
The fact they use minorities to push their point, but then fuck over ones that go against what they say just about boils my blood.
This video needs more coverage and views.
Corruption in the gaming industry is an understatement ,its bloody rotten to the core.
This highlights the extreme dangers of social media ,you dont have to be right or logical and as far as I can tell anywhere close to sane and there will be people out there that will follow you and do your bidding because they are incapable of logic or self thought.
Glad I came across this I have avoided anything on reddit dealing with this due to what people you can expect in those threads.Nice seeing stuff discussed in a sane environment.
God, I just want to see this facade of the poor "progressive" beset on all sides by dastardly woman-hating neckbeards collapse so badly. To see all these hypocritical, sanctimonious phonies be forced to either be dragged down with the scumbags they defend or backpedal and admit they stood for nothing would just be the purest form of poetic justice and one could ever see.

I've seen some of the pictures of that fest posted on the internet. It reminded me of 1984.
You know what the sad thing is? A lot of the hardcore SJ folks are going to double down on this. They're going to defend whatever bullshit is going on to the death, because they vehemently believe "the ends justify the means."
No, doesn't work like that folks. Proper activism needs to work the other way around: the means to creating representation and inclusivity in gaming should always justify the ends. If your means utilize force against others, what do you think the end result will be? Hint: it has to do with a lot of gatekeeping.
This whole entire thing has been a Grade A example of how NOT to go about social change. Actually, I learned through my TW activism that this crap doesn't work at all and often sets your entire movement back. Why? Because you make others feel like they don't have a choice in change. You make them feel like they have to go along with the ride or face getting kicked out. This really upsets them, and often makes people counter-rally against your cause.
That's why I promote social and cultural change via education and understanding, now. I don't trust institutions, I believe they inherently cause these power dynamics to appear, so I always work outside of institutions in order to get people to collectively understand the importance of these initiatives. After all, it's much easier to get TW's in the classroom if we can come to the table and find a middle ground to talk about it, in which we all agree and know how to police their usage and etc. I wish these same devs and journos were also willing to come to the table, instead of trying to jump into the industry, change things around, and then throw a fit when they realize that they've fucked up on getting the masses to actually support what they're doing.
I was wondering, you know that "This is Phil Fish" video, is it even still relevant at this point? like should it ever watched again or even posted.
I didn't want to post it as I really hate it now. It kind of glorifies him or defends him.

If the IGF/Indiecade news develops further (and I think it will, someone is investigating further into it & the news has been handed off to the feds) then I think Fish is going to quickly get his reputation completely obliterated.
That Fish is fried.

I never had anything against you to start with, but I've also come to respect you a lot, even though I presonally don't agree with some of the things you stand for. I think it means something, and also, funnily enough, it proves you right, common ground with no preconceptions does wonders, and should always be the way for positive* social changes to move forward. Start from the stuff both agree with, and move from there.
*[sp]I used "positive instead of "progressive" because I don't like the word. For example, stuff like accepting gay marriage is not progressive. It's just not regressive[/sp]
I actually found that LISTEN and BELIEVE thing from Anita's presentation pretty funny. The implication that people aren't listening and believing their experiences, I'm not sure whether it comes from condescension to just believe what they say, not realising that experiences are subjective and that what you feel isn't necessarily truth, or just flat out arrogance that people couldn't possibly understand and disagree, they must just not be listening to what is said.
Worst of all though is that listening and believing doesn't include discussing. A debate is between peers, each have their own arguments and make their case on equal grounds as adults, but this along with her history of not addressing any criticism shows she's not really interested in that. Funny for someone about equality to set up that kind of dynamic with the public.

Thanks for sharing the info. What else did they touch on?
They talked about what their favorite games were and what got them into games, and their jobs and what they do. They didn't really go in depth about GG because it was towards the end of the panel.

The whole thing looked like a cult.
The whole thing looked like a cult.
It did from the start. The SJW leakage into the indie dev and media behaved like a cult all along - you don't believe in our prophet and savior? That's because you are a sinner, get out you heretic.
And they demand all your money to show that you are a true follower.

Boogie getting threats because he's supporting Gamergate.
Also the post he replied to was "how deep does the rabbit hole go".

Personally I'd post the threats on sites like 4chan to show what the little pricks want to do, preferably with someone's name on it so it can be traced. The best way to expose conspiracies like this is to put 'em out in the open. Cowards like these people hate being exposed.
If I were in that kind of workplace I'd just start recording every conversation I have. Set up a hotkey on my phone or something.

and, like a cult, the reason the lower down people on the 'SJW' hierarchy will defend these people so aggressively is because they've invested so much importance in it that to admit their worldview is incorrect would make them feel like life has lost all meaning.
Cults attract people who feel they don't fit in, who are typically not happy in life and struggle to connect with others. This stuff has cult written all over it
Holy shit, @TheBestGamers are spitting out some fucking tight words on twitter right now about Tim Schafer and this whole thing. He's even dropped his persona for a little bit to be full on about what he's saying.
I would make a image showing it all but it's a tonne of tweets and he's still tweeting about it.

The thing is people dont realize. People that went to see that and cheer her on were already going to it. Its a circlejerk type thing, its like if she went on SRS and got praise. It really means fuckall and is childish as fuck.
Obviously not progressive if you think rallying people up for some "war" is how you go about educating people about feminism, equality, humanism, etc... Pretty fucking sad how up front they can be with being fucking idiots and hypocrits yet people follow.
There isnt some War, you email these PR and advertisers and we win regardless. In the end, the only reason these people exist is because they have $$ to support the means. If that wasnt the case Anita wouldnt have done a kickstarter for a video series. These fucking idiots thinking its some political movie game type shit I dont even know, its like make pretend and quite pretentious and hilarious as fuck. These people are trash and mean nothing when it comes to the grand scheme of things.

I'm not too opposed to her ideas, but I really hope that this doesn't encourage a "Comics Code Authority" for videogames. Comics were considered to be brainwashing to the youth, this made sellers prohibited comics based on their themes. Respectable artists stuck to general themes in order to make sales. Many stores had that policy for 50 years. Although the comics were more inclusive, American comics lagged behind greatly in variety in comparison to the Franco-Belgian and Manga genre.

I think its chicken-shit that she throws herself into this. She's tangentially related through Silverstring Media but she has at least never claimed to be a journalist. She literally has nothing to do with this and whining about "misogyny" shows how out of touch she is, unless she's pushing an agenda to get paid.

I kind of see what you mean. She's not too familiar with the medium to judge it entirely.
I'm all for inclusiveness, but I also think that it shouldn't become a quota that creators have to follow. Especially if that quota is enforced by a person who is unfamiliar with the medium.
Wanna bet she gets paid to hold talks?
Which pushes her obvious agenda? Obviously I know she gets money for talks.

I think he's done. And what he's said is 100% truth.
So I've started sending letters to publishers and the like about not visiting sites like Kotaku, RPS and the others.
I've instead stated that I use youtubers like Totalbiscuit for my source of reviews.
BTW anyone know what happened to phil fish in all this? So much has been going on all at once its hard to keep track of it all.

Choked on it and closed his twitter.
After re-tweeting a lot of GG stuff from VARIOUS people, Indiecade starts following me. I think they got it wrong.
