I always liked Tim Schafer, i really don't know how to feel about him after reading all the twitter shit.
I feel like everything i know is a lie.
I know how you feel, it really sucks, doesnt help he refuses to show progress on act 2 of broken age.
It's not like he can do Act 2 after spending all that 3.3 million on Act 1, plus backer shit. There needs to be another two kickstarters just for Act 2 to happen.

THen what the hell happened to that money made from the sales from act 1 then, were they used for costume quest 2?
So this guy is going off against journos at the moment. Not sure if it's legit or not, but he claims he was one and worked with them. https://twitter.com/RevueMage

You know that extension that automatically put certain sites through an archive service, or through a do not link service? Does such a thing exist for Firefox?

She used to HATE being called Trans (i cant remember the specific reason, but i think it was because where she lived it was dangerous to have a label like that) but the moment Gamergate/NYS happened she decided to call herself Trans.
She's also attacked allosaurus Rex on both sides, but considering how much of an egotistical prick he's been this year (including but not limited to trying to get me to shitpost his "funny" fat penguin inside joke/meme on /v/ and then having the balls to attack a twitter friend and me over VAPORWAVE) he absolutely deserves it
Has Schafer overtly said anything actually terrible so far regarding GamerGate? It seems to me that people came up to him to mess with him and talk about his $3.1 mil indie project (totally unrelated,) and he's fucking with them back.

it's a far cry from being a professional victim. he's a professional game maker who just happens to be getting publicity for his games from people raging at him on twitter. he's just telling us what we already know

threw together an imgur album real quick of the main stuff posted, in part because some people find it easier to digest that way and also in part because of the possibility that the important stuff might become drowned out later on for people who want to see it but were late to the party

No. Fuck off. Entire businesses have sprouted up and there are plenty of actual journalists who can follow these ethics and still critique things. Just because the 24 hour News Stations fail constantly at Journalistic Ethics doesn't meant you get to fail at it. If you're not willing to push yourself to follow those ethics, you are not a journalist. If you do not stride to follow those rules, you are not a journalist. If you insult, attacked or otherwise ignore the criticism being given by your public, you are not a journalist.
A journalist is not expected to follow guidelines like a fucking a paladin. A journalist is expected to make mistakes. A journalist is expected own up to those mistakes, recuse themselves when necessary and not write about loved ones, to not write about people they pay to make games via patreon, to not write about room mates, to not insult and generalize their audience. To not perform in wild witch hunts. You're supposed to inform.
If you are unwilling to do anything I listed above, you're a blogger. Not a Journalist. You do not deserve respect if you're just a blogger because that means you can say what you want, you can fill in facts that don't exist. You can take on issues in the most shallow way possible and feel good about yourself for five minutes. It means you're unable to be held accountable and also untrustworthy.

Super Bunnyhop has shown that it's possible to be a game journalist. His GamerGate video took a while to make since he was busy doing interviews with professors with degrees in journalism to discuss ethics instead of crying out that gamers are dead.
Okay, officially out of the small one serving cups of micro-wave mac and cheese.

Basically, I sent Kraft a message about advertising, since they fund Polygon. I went into graphic detail about the deliciously cheesy flavors while playing videogames. Explaining the amazing noise M&C makes when you stir it.
Two paragraphs.
Then in a sentence I told them that it won't be happening anymore because I cannot fund websites that insult me and friends. Told them I was sorry, and now I'm sad.

This is going to sound awful so I want this to sound as least awful as possible
I'd like to know where Leigh Alexander lives just so I can find out if she actually lives in "the ghetto", because she probably doesn't. I'm going to take a random stab and say California, probably San Francisco.
Just a note, after revisiting RCR(Regular Car Reviews, their stuff is crass but filled with literary references). It seems like the Car industry has the same damn issues that the gaming industry has, but worse.
Like to the point that you get handed pre-written reviews which you can switch around to make 'em sound different.
Jeez, seriously?

The thing is that just about any form of journalism has corruption within it. The issue is almost always being up front rather than remaining free from ties to people. Motor journalists have just as much an obligation to please fans as they do to please the companies. Most car manufacturers are big enough to where a bad review or bad press won't hurt them. (GM, for example, pretty much murdered 20 people and no one cares)

Paul Tassi can take his edgy-but-not-too-edgy faux hawk and pressed shirt and shove them up his ass.
I pointed the RCR thing only because if we allow shit like that to continue, we're gonna be headed in the direction.

Of 'journalism' being little more than a marketing branch for big companies? Yeap. Motoring writers often tread the line between editorial as well. If you're read on it, most journalists are very up front about which cars they are a fan of and which they are not. That allows the readers to know something along the lines of 'Jeremy Clarkson likes Mercedes so if he likes x car it's likely similar to the positives of a Merc.' Then again a journalist saying that they like something and saying that something is objectively good are two different things. Then again I'm not a journalist, so what the hell do I know.
Pretty much.
Another press guy talking about his E3 2010 experience and the relationship between devs and journos.
