That cheered me up.
They ran out. Like, with all comedians and funny people. They eventually hit this brick wall where they start re-using material. If you're a good comedian you can usually run with this for a whole career and expand it out.
Cracked writers didn't do that and now they've hit a point where they can only be sarcastically assholish.
I used to enjoy cracked before they started delving into that shit, not to mention one of their regular artists is basically the biggest strawman factory ever when it comes to his illustrations
I've noticed a trend that "progressive" game developers and journalists that actually turn out to be patronizing assholes in disguise.
Good grief, I just scrolled through to see what was being talked about (Eldritch), and I'm surprised this is even listed.
As far as I can tell he is NOT censoring or taking anything of value away by making that decision, unlike many of the other examples listed.
The only thing I got was that someone made a minor artistic decision made because "why not" and "it might make things better in some way", with very little reason not to make it and it doesn't actively work against anyone.
It also doesn't imply any kind of meaningful association with the "harmful" parties being discussed and is well which is well within what would be expected of the average with positive intentions and a passing understanding of the topic.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but last time I checked trying to diversify the pool of protagonists was a "good" thing.
I thought this was supposed to be fighting censorship and favoritism, not demonizing otherwise positive intentions because they may be somewhat related. If we're going to start criticizing people because their intentions seem vaguely related to those misbehaving and because they're using the "wrong" terminology that is already out there, then things may be veering off-track pretty badly.
If this has become the sort of thing worth criticizing at this point then perhaps this has turned into witch-hunt I don't want to touch with a hundred meter pole.
It's hilarious to imagine that Redditors are now claiming 4chan is a good place because of all of this.
I remember not too long ago both sites absolutely hated each other more than /pol/ hates ethnic minorities and circumcision.

Its more the fact that it wasn't needed, and the game itself you make your own character.
There was literally no reason for that change and it literally does nothing except provide a shallow good will gesture that ultimately comes up empty with any analysis.

Reddit has always been a shitshow of censorship and agenda bs, its only now that its actually cropping up though

Most Redditors didn't know about it before I'm fairly certain. Hell, most people in general.
I know I sure as fuck didn't (then again I only ever visited r/Dota).

I know that if this corruption is ever fixed I will certainly come to respect Reddit as a site considering how their users have been playing this out.

Most subs will ban for contradicting opinions I've found. there was a short outrage on /r/runescape of people getting banned for saying the added microtransactions were shit, but they kept banning till everyone shut up about it.
I'm really, REALLY glad that Assange of all people had taken a dump on redidt over their shitty censorship. At this point i'm livid at reddit.
They beg for donations to "keep the servers running" yet never publicize their server costs. One minute they are a dying grassroots company in need of donations, the next day they are hiring 9 people. All while running ads and selling front-page space to the highest bidder.
Now they're banning people for upvoting/commenting on stuff that goes against the narrative, yet circlejerking about how anti censorship they are. I really hope reddit goes under.

A reminder that r/creepshots and r/picsofdeadkids is freedom of speech according to Reddit

So what? It does nothing, and it might have a slim chance of being positive, so why not do it?
If we need to start justifying otherwise benign decisions because they make you feel some wrong or because you think they are "shallow" to then I fear for the future of creative works.
Are we supposed to have "anti-political-correctness" now that's just as bad as "political-correctness"? I hope not.
A reminder that r/creepshots and r/picsofdeadkids is freedom of speech according to Reddit
But don't talk about celebrity nudes or gamergate!
Where did the shortfatotaku video of him describing indiecade go? I know it was taken down but wasn't it reuploaded?
A reminder that r/creepshots and r/picsofdeadkids is freedom of speech according to Reddit
r/creepshots perhaps not so much because of privacy invasion, but r/picsofdeadkids, as sick as it is, should be covered.
A healthy reminder that Freedom of Speech only makes sure the government won't censor you. It's up to the community and owners of whatever land or domain is being used at that moment to decide what is allowed to be talked about.

Legally, Reddit is in no wrongs. Morally, however, they are in the deep red in my opinion.

I'm not defending or otherwise, I'm just stating the fact its rather pointless from both sides.

I'm aware of that and r/picsofdeadkids might not have been the best example, but my point is how hypocritical Reddit is. They claim freedom of speech but censor #GamerGate.
To quote Babylon 5.
"Understanding is a 3 edged sword, your side, their side and the truth"
Hell, the whole scene in that episode is pretty applicable to the extremists on either side (Although I hate to say that because the extremists really aren't interested in the side any more than what they can get out of being in it and being inflamatory towards the other)
I don't agree with this, but currently can't find the English words and sentence structure to properly express it :v:.
I know that feeling. It'll come back to you in the middle of the night before you go to bed, don't worry :v:
Goddamn 4chan right now is being censored because of that cracked article
Seems Zoe has taken her lies to Cracked.
Goddamn 4chan right now is being censored because of that cracked article
Yeah, it seems the shills are spamming the article all over /v/. One of the mods, most likely the corrupt one, told people not to report people who posted the link despite 4chan rule 11
Advertising (all forms) is not welcome—this includes any type of referral linking, "offers", soliciting, begging, stream threads, etc.
What's starting to scare me about this in general is some people's eagerness to cast such a wide net in branding people as "part of the problem" or the "opposition".
Just because someone is promoting "equality", expressing frustration at "sexism", "trying not to offend people", or using the term "cisgender" doesn't mean they are in any way related to the supposedly "harmful" parties involved.
The last thing you'd want is a bunch of angry people trying to drag in and merge their petty frustrations and objections in hopes that they can get the "movement" to resolve them.
I can only hope those people are in the minority, because it would be really disappointing if in the end we just have yet another group of angry people you're supposed to try not to piss off.
Never really understood cis as a curse word.
Cis was created to make a catch all label.
[editline]16th September 2014[/editline]
Like I've said, for a movement trying to stop labeling, they love their labels.
Cis as an insult mostly started from people being offended by it tbh
Never really understood cis as a curse word.
I never seen it as such
Cis as an insult mostly started from people being offended by it tbh
As with every insult ever.
I never seen it as such
Tumblr. Jesus Fucking Christ, Tumblr.

I'm afraid of this as well, I don't want this to become a giant fucking split in the community where developers are even more compressed by the trash compactors of vocal minorities.

Cracked ultimately means fuck all.
The whole Eldritch thing as someone trying to congratulate themselves for doing a good job fighting for equality. Its akin to a small child who did something they're proud of so they constantly point it out to other people looking for someone to complement them on it.
Its mostly irrelevant considering its just a dev with maybe a bit of an ego problem.
wtf i can't unlike cracked on facebook help
like I did used to like their lists and shit, but this was honestly the last straw.
