The best thing to do to stop corruption in game journalism is to just not read it, or if you do read it don't make a fuss about it. That's what journalism is made to do, cause a reaction like the shitstorm that was produced by this whole Zoo Quorn bitch who banged a few guys or some shit.

While that may be true for a certain portion of them, specifically those who purposely go against the very values they defend, I think some are just uninformed and want to support someone they believe defends their cause.

They actually hate the minorities they support. They have an intricate and complex fear, which makes them see the minorities as something they need to protect. That minorities can't exist in the world without constant approval and help from their side. They do this so they can eventually say "look i helped x minority" even though they probably didn't do much to help, and are only in it for the ego-trip or personal profit.

If she cared about feminism she'd see that all she is achieving is making millions of people hate feminism, and she'd stop.
Anita is using the "gamer" scene to throw feminism under a bus to create controversy and shit that'll make her money.
Anita got really lucky the first time with the knee-jerk response she got over her project. Back then we didn't have a frame of reference to work with in order to approach the situation responsibly and as a result she got a ton of ammunition to use in order to entrench herself and bolster her influence.
Zoe Quinn tried the same thing but she just keeps failing to get the reaction she wants, and she'll only dig herself deeper every time she does. If Anita keeps this up, she's going to run out of luck; she'll eventually hit rock bottom once her support begins to pull back because there's no longer a demographic capable of being vilified.
This is basically the indie equivalent of the whole shitstorm that followed with the mass effect 3 ending; journalists defending EA and insulting their audience that eventually backfired immensely after they realized how much damage they were doing to themselves. Has Penny Arcade said anything about what's going been going on lately? I remember they were on EA's side during the ME3 fiasco.

I've been seeing people outside of this situation comment on "misogynist gamers" and now I don't know if they're referring to Zoe, Anita, or both. It's making me nervous about replying to them thinking about one thing and finding out they were talking about the other and now they think I'm being dumb (since the Anita thing has only a tangential relationship to the Zoe thing as far as I know). Hasn't happened yet (again, as far as I know), but still, it's just a though I've been having.

She's made connections with people in the gaming journalism industry and people believe (with credible evidence) that she's using those connections to get positive publicity for her game and censorship of any negative criticism, and investigations into this accusation revealed a whole lot more corrupt things these journalists have done. That's the simplest (and probably a little inaccurate) explanation I can give.
