It's not the destination, it's the trip. If you find bliss and fullfillment when you're religious, then you're either a La Veyan satanist, or just bad at being religious, because most joys are against the rules. Fixed so people don't confuse it with Theistic satanism which is pants on head retarded.

The only probable thing that will happen when you die is the chemical being released from your brain and you either hallucinating, or dreaming for that last few minutes that your brain functions after death.

that is, if you're dying from something over a time span
that is, if you're dying from something over a time span
Like old age. Which hopefully that's what will take me away.
I don't guess people understand the words "Nobody knows." we don't know if we meet God or Allah or Shiva or Vishnu or whatever. We don't know if we are being born into this world again. We don't know if we end up in Heaven or Hell. We don't know if we cease to exist. But one way or another eventually we'll find out.
But one way or another eventually we'll find out.
nope, because if you're dead you will be just that, dead, you won't know if your belief was right because there will be nothing to compare beliefs with
I don't think the human mind is capable of comprehending life after death.
Just don't bother thinking about it, waste of time.
nope, because if you're dead you will be just that, dead, you won't know if your belief was right because there will be nothing to compare beliefs with
well it all depends if on whichever religion was "right." If we wind up in Heaven or Hell Christians are correct. If we wind up in, (sorry I'm not too keen on Indian culture) wherever Shiva and Vishnu are chillin' the Indians are right, etc. But if we enter the never-waking stage which is what Athiests say will happen, then no we won't ever find out which belief is correct.
Nobody knows and anybody who says otherwise is a liar and a fool.

You don't die of old age.

So we live forever?
Seeing this thread angers me of what facepunch is. Someone states their beliefs and hundreds of underage kids rate them funny and or box.
It would help if those beliefs would have a shred of proof.
So we live forever?
No, you die because shit breaks down opening you up for other diseases. It's not the old age that kills you, its something else like cancer, the flu, pneumonia, or some other stupid disease.
There is a reason most young people dont die from the ridiculous diseases old people get.
So we live forever?
No, you die of _______ during old age. You don't die of old age.
You don't die of old age.
not old age, exactly, but things caused by living a long time, such as organs breaking down, cancer, diseases etc

I personally think that something happens after we die. I also believe that there is a God, or some higher power. I'm no Saint, but I try to be as kind to everyone as I can, even if they don't deserve it.
Also, some Baaawww material.

Friggin awesome

Also, I read an article in some magazine that says there is a gene in DNA that forces cells to age, so aging actually is something that kills you

Thats idiocy, age is not programmed into people, we age from DNA being damaged over time and not replicating properly, as the damage happens our bodies repair it but over time the repair mechanisms cant keep up with the damage and we become susceptible to more diseases.
Haha shit didn't think of that
I should find the magazine. I remember it saying things about telomeres, which is what I'm sure you're referring to by DNA degrading

Nope even FPS doug clearly stated that there is no respawn points in rl D;
What we want to believe: Heaven and Hell
What is most logical: Lose all brain functions and cease to think or feel
Don't think of it as a bad thing, death is something that everything must go through. When you are dead, you are resting for eternity, which is a very peaceful thing. You might think of it as scary, but when you are dead, you will not have any fear at all.
Mabye I should insert a Video Game Reference
[1 Cookie for anyone to guess what game this is]
Every time you dream or die, your spirit slips into a realm called "The Fade"(Which explains the release of chemicals)
The Fade itself contains Spirits and demons. The Maker created the golden city (located in the Fade)for His Mortal children when they die.
People slipped into the golden city without being dead, the Maker being enraged, he punished the people by turning them pure evil, blighting the land.
His Believers, though are by His side until the Maker rebuilds the city.

Thats why I look forward to death after life, I think of it as the perfect sleep.
Your conscience ceases to exist because your brain is no longer firing electrical transmissions. So in short nothing at all. You die and cease to exist entirely.
