*warning if you have nothing nice to say about this idea then don't post your comment! However if you have a better idea or this one needs improvment then by all means, but keep it positive!
I have noticed how most requests get done only because it's an easy task or because the modder likes it. However in that process other requests do not get accomplished due to the reason peolpe think it's "stupid" or it's a "waste" of time. So i think facepunch should add a section for tutorials of how to make models, skins, etc.
So my question is; is it a good idea to set up a tutorial section to teach people how to use the devices needed to make their ideas come to life or is there a better idea?
I miss the videogame subforums though (For Call of Duty, etc)

Not a bad idea. There's tons of tutorials scattered around everywhere but they just get lost. Would be nice to keep them all in one area.
Wholeheartedly agree.

Funny that shows a tutorial place which is great, yet where are the ones to help make your own models and skins?
Someone made a website for this, Gmod School. The site appears mostly dead, though.
Using the poll system can be very beneficial! :science:
we should make a blogpunch section so we can herd all the douchebags into one spot
So you insist on making a section for yourself...
Edit:
I do think it is a good idea though...
nevermind i don't get the thread.
Of course you don't, you're a insane taco, my friend.
And mr.gestapo should do this. Would go smoothly.
Anyway i still think it's a great idea and they should follow up on it because it will make things a lot easier in the end.
What we really need are tutorial stickies. We used to have at least one in every section, but now there's none.
Eh no
totally. fucking yes.

Here's a custom forum on tutorials, not sure if anyone uses it though
10'er section for people like OP
Also google is your friend, there are guides on FPSbanana and other sites too, because you can't search we should open a new subforum, that would have over 300 topics with kids going THIS DON'T WORK, SOMEONE DO IT FOR ME.
So kind of like an "Info" thread? Sounds like a good idea.
At the very least, we need the sub section.
You have no idea how hard it is for members to actually find out the right search term for google, and then the right tools that work, and then figure out how to rig rag dolls for fingerposing, followed by faceposing flexes (or what ever order they try to learn it in).
I got lucky to save this tutorial here when it came around: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=542906
And if I'm not mistaken, the LUA section has their own wiki, Screenshots and Movies has the "Screenshots Rules, Museum, and Resources - READ THIS!" sticky, Garry's Mod Discussion has the Help & Support Sub-section, and the mapping section has their megathread sticky. Why doesn't the models section have anything like that? It would help with keeping the tutorial requests down and possibly getting more people who can start cleaning up the requests section.

Instantly knew this would be dumb.
Rated box.
Like posted before, there's already a tutorials section, it's just shit
What happened with the groups and stuff?
