I've run in to a teacher like this before. Guy was using his class to just to fuck the students. In my case, it was the French teacher who would invite the, underage, students back to his apartment at night for "personal tutoring."
Eyup, one of the reasons I cannot stand most teachers in art classes. You either get the absurdly rare teacher that loves their job and craft and is willing to teach you on any level needed to get you up to there level... Or you get this type of asshat.
Literally every single crafts teacher / instructor in my community of schools (Pre-K - Highschool) was a huge stick in the ass control freak, even over kids. And some other people I talk to from different areas all share somewhat similar experiences, something about teaching arts and crafts draws the worst kind of people.
The disgruntled artist-now-teacher made up the majority of my arts teachers.
Strangely, I didn't have any asshole art teachers. In highschool I had one teacher who had to do a lesson on every art form he could in a semester. Drawing, painting, water color, charcoal, ink, collages, a few other things I'm forgetting. In college, I had this wonderful drawing/painting teacher, and I regret not being able to take his drawing 2 and painting 2 classes. Both of the teachers had amazing personalities and just had classes that were great to go to, regardless of how skilled you were, because they were always willing to help. Music teachers, on the other hand, were the tough ones in my experience. I could go on about a few, but that would stray too far from the topic.
