Yeah, the big ones cut through nails like butter. Dulls the blades, though. If I put a nail through this one, I'd be quite afraid of it exploding :P
Went to my favorite instrument store, they didn't have any telecaster bridges, so I picked up this vintage relic from the early 1980's :3: The shop keeper had it in a case in the back, and I bought it free of tax. I cleaned off all the crud buildup with some paint thinner at home, it looks brand spankin new now. Vintage kahler, very nice.
Yeah, it was a nice find. Apparently a guy came in with one on his Gibson SG, might have changed it out for a newer variant when Kahler started making them again.
Also, don't ruin the nice wood with paint.
Yeah, was thinking that now. A few patterns or decals couldn't hurt over top of the wood. Maybe like:
That looks pretty awesome, save for the scalloping I'd at least stain the body though.
You should design your own logo/get someone to design a logo for your guitars and then make a template for the logo and paint it onto your guitars. Or just print a bunch of stickers with your logo on it
Eh, less telecasters. They're fantastic, but you really need to go nuts.
Eh, less telecasters. They're fantastic, but you really need to go nuts.
This, go for some unique design
This, go for some unique design
Easier said than done.
Easier said than done.
Eh, dont build a guitar if ur not going to put some effort
This, go for some unique design
Most good ones are already taken and in case you didn't know, the shape of the body affects the sustain quite a bit. Guitars tend to look the same for a reason. [editline]04:20PM[/editline]
Eh, dont build a guitar if ur not going to put some effort
Sounds like you have no idea how much effort goes into building one from scratch. Especially if you make the neck yourself and so on.
It's his 4th guitar, he already knows how to build, time for a change and something new.
It's his 4th guitar, he already knows how to build, time for a change and something new.
It's not that easy to come up with a unique design. Further still, it's harder to come up with one that's practical and looks good.
I understand that it is very hard to come up with a unique design that works, but come on he's made 2 stratas and 2 teles. At least make something that you haven't done already! [editline]04:36PM[/editline] Here I made you a guitar shape

[editline]11:46AM[/editline] would be much better, but its his guitar and what if he likes strats?
Doesn't matter. He's still fuckin boring.
It doesn't matter what his personal preferences are as to how he spends his time and money, he's still fucking boring because his designs are similar to guitars that are sold today
lolwut
Make a kelly or a V
Make a kelly or a V
What if he doesn't like those metal guitars?
What if he doesn't like those metal guitars?
Well fuck him then how about u stop defending him and gtfo too?
If it were up to me, I wouldn't put any sort of paint or decals on that sexy wood.
Easier said than done.
Also dont talk to me like i got no fucking idea how to make guitar, i work in a woodshop, dad's been working with wood since hes 15, we know our shit
Also dont talk to me like i got no fucking idea how to make guitar, i work in a woodshop, dad's been working with wood since hes 15, we know our shit
Woah chill the fuck out man Maybe you should post some of your designs to help him then
Also dont talk to me like i got no fucking idea how to make guitar, i work in a woodshop, dad's been working with wood since hes 15, we know our shit
Avatar fits post. If you're Oh-so-talented with wood, make your own thread and prove how boring his designs are instead of filling the thread with shit :v: If he wants a traditional design, then let him make a traditional design.
Also dont talk to me like i got no fucking idea how to make guitar, i work in a woodshop, dad's been working with wood since hes 15, we know our shit
Easier said than done. Guitar building makes furniture and cabinet making look like a cakewalk. When I'm making a $100, 000 yearly salary, I'll go "nuts," but the parts so far have cost me $300, and you don't just go "nuts" with $300 worth of hardware and lumber. I want a guitar design that will give me results.
Easier said than done. Guitar building makes furniture and cabinet making look like a cakewalk.
Help me convince my dad paying for the material and ill do my best to make a Dean V model
Screw you, I had to do set building for a week to get part of my first guitar's parts subsidized (then paid the other 100 dollars with savings), go work for yours.
Help me convince my dad paying for the material and ill do my best to make a Dean V model
just have daddy buy you a whole new guitar.
