Help me convince my dad paying for the material and ill do my best to make a Dean V model
Why are you whining at him for making unoriginal designs, and then aspiring to create a flying v?
lolwut
Have you even read my posts?
Do a penis for laughs.
Sad thing is, that would actually work. The balls would be the body, he shaft would be the neck, and the head would be the headstock. Still, there's many reasons why I won't make that xD
Well fuck him then how about u stop defending him and gtfo too?

Also dont talk to me like i got no fucking idea how to make guitar, i work in a woodshop, dad's been working with wood since hes 15, we know our shit
Dude, chill the fuck out. hypno-toad wants to make his own guitar so let him. You have no right to bag him out for deciding to build a tele. Plus, you can't exactly talk because it's pretty obvious you have horrible taste in guitar designs. So why don't you get the fuck out? No one wants you here.
Well fuck him then how about u stop defending him and gtfo too?
You're the instigator of this argument, don't tell him not to defend him just because you're losing. [editline]01:29PM[/editline]
Help me convince my dad paying for the material and ill do my best to make a Dean V model
This is like internet tough-guyism but without the tough-guy part and more wood-work

I will not forgive you if you don't use that thermal paint.
It was a good Idea, but I got the nice wood for this one :saddowns: I'll buy that paint when I have time.
Also dont talk to me like i got no fucking idea how to make guitar, i work in a woodshop, dad's been working with wood since hes 15, we know our shit
You're a pretty big Asshole aren't you?
keep us updated! post some pics or something

100% of getting poon if you play this at a concert
keep us updated! post some pics or something
Not much to post yet. I still need to get a replacement tire for my bandsaw before I can start doing any real work. I hope to do that tomorrow. I may add some progress on one of my old guitars as some thread filler, gonna be doing a big repair on my strat.
Aw, nice, your guitars are always awesome. Nice pickups by the way. Also, a Floyd rose bridge will be a lot harder to install than an ordinary bridge, as it involves a lot more than just bolting it on.
And a lot harder to tune and restring. Trust me. But for anyone who has ever owned one that should be pretty obvious.
And a lot harder to tune and restring. Trust me. But for anyone who has ever owned one that should be pretty obvious.
Nice thing about them is you only have to tune them once, unless you break a string.
Nice thing about them is you only have to tune them once, unless you break a string.
Yeah, but you're also kinda stuck in that tuning form Only reason why I don't want a locking guitar is because of that. It's awesome if you have another guitar though (which you have three more of, at least).
would you ever be selling it? definetally put a floyd rose on it.
Here's a little thread filler (news on one of my older guitars) in the mean time.. I changed out the really crappy nameless pickup[s on my strat for some EMG selects. I mainly did it because the humbucker on my other one stopped working, but as it turns out, it seems to be the pickup selector that is broken. I did some interesting wiring this time around, I have it so rather than a: 1- 12 -2- 23 -3 sort of pickup combination, I've done it so its a 1- 12 -2- 13 -3 sort of thing. I lose out on the neck/center combo, but I made it so it has a bridge/neck combo instead, the EMGs are noiseless, so i don't have to worry about 60 cycle hum with my combinations. Unfortunately, it looks like I will have to change out the pickup selector soon :/
Nice thing about them is you only have to tune them once, unless you break a string.
Well. Slightly. I suppose. But If you use the whammy not really no.
4 day weekend coming up :v: you know what that means.
Comment, damnit.
Good on you for doing your own builds, but god damnit i fucking detest tele's
4 day weekend coming up :v: you know what that means.
Pimpage on your guitar? [editline]04:01PM[/editline]
Good on you for doing your own builds, but god damnit i fucking detest tele's
Same but it's still pretty cool what he's doing. Hypno, if you ever do this again make like a Les Paul :D
Pimpage on your guitar? [editline]04:01PM[/editline]
No, silly, gonna start building the new one.
Make an FP guitar.
Make an FP guitar.
lolno. ---- Kay, I planed my padauk lumber down to 1 - 3/4" so its the standard solid body thickness. Beautiful lumber, and smells like vanilla :v: The sawdust is blood red-ish, it looks like I put a small animal through my planer. and I glued the two pieces together with the best corresponding grain. It should look like one solid piece when the guitar is finished, even though it is laminated. Unfortunately, it may take weeks to get a bandsaw tire replacement, I went to a place way out away from where I live, but they may not have any replacement tires for at least a month. I may have to check elsewhere, and then buy some cheaper spare replacements from that store when they get them in. Hopefully I can exchange my bandsaw, or find some different tires somewhere else. I'll update the thread when I draw out the body on the blank wood.
I'm jealous. You in a band?
Nope, I've only actually been playing guitar for about 2 months now. I can play: Die Alright! Hate to say I told you so, Self Esteem, Drain You, God Save the Queen (SP) and a few other songs, mostly power chord stuff. Basically, I'm much better at making them than playing them ;)
Apparently lee valley sells bandsaw tires, so I'll pick one up tomorrow.. then I can cut out the body.
How much would a custom guitar cost me? Do you do hollowbodies? I'm interested in this sort of shape: http://www.makenmusic.com/productImg/PRS_HollowbodyII_McCartySB_147211_Frontbody.jpg Except in emerald green, with a maple top, spruce back, and mahogany sides.
I don't do hollowbodies yet. I don't have a whole lot of workspace, so I'm not formally for hire :p If, I do ever set up a workshop somewhere, I could do that kind of stuff.
