wasnt the family from re7 actually really nice people (except the son) [editline]24th May 2017[/editline] i have a pretty keen interest in cults so this might actually interest me more than the last few far crys
You should maybe spoiler tag that first bit but yeah. The bakers weren't really racists, just psychopaths, [sp]mind controlled psychopaths[/sp]. I loved the shit out of FC3 and FC4. I just hope we get an antagonist on par with Vaas or Pagin Min. Hopefully they'll actually be present throughout the game.

I was hoping for Pagan-like antagonist, but crazy preacher is awesome too. I also really enjoyed the grey morality of Far Cry 4, where antagonist never did anything bad to you specifically and actually cares about you and both of your "allies" are actually dickbags who pursue their own goals.
so it's basically gonna be True Detective (season 1): the game count me the fuck in
I'm not even worried about the gameplay, I'm worried about how preachy/politicized and cartoony ubisoft's narrative shit is. This game will probably just shape up to be one giant lopsided quasi-revenge fantasy where you kill thousands of kooky religious rural backwards white strawmen as if a rural cop has the power to do something like that or as if something like that wouldn't attract immediate attention on a national scale. No doubt there will be plenty of ham-fisted Trump-related overtones in it as well just like Ubisoft couldn't help themselves with when they made WD2. I'd just rather Montana, which gets no media coverage, not be portrayed like this. Ubisoft doesn't know the meaning of the word "subtlety".
its a vidya gaem
Key art just got released:
I suspect this'll be like 4, fun as fuck but no interest in the plot Lemme guess another crazy eccentric villain and a few rattles about how the protagonist and villain arent really that different and then a crap ending
Since the painting is obviously based on Leonardo's Last Supper, does that mean the guy above the person with Sinner scrapped into his skin would be their "Judas" and betray the group portrayed?
Definitely down for the setting but not for playing another Far Cry 3 reskin. Change up the gameplay too please Ubisoft.
this is actually the sequel to this classic game: [t]http://www.hardcoregamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/91NBMt5kfhL.jpg[/t]

"haha you think you can judge me after all the people you've shot??" "well uh yeah actually"
wouldn't it be great if the protagonist was just a completely balanced and heroic small-town cop who wants to save people and avoid violence? "haha you think you can judge me after all the people you've shot??" "well uh yeah actually"
Well, considering you'll apparently be zooming around in what I swear to God looks like a BF109 or some shit napalming townsfolk by the thousands in a part of the country where many towns barely dip over the low hundreds in population, and the federal government doesn't give a single slightest shit that this is happening on their soil, I highly doubt that.
So not only cultists, but hipster cultists.
It's a game made by french canadians, what did you expect?
i think ghost recon wildlands infected this game it looks like we're fighting some druglord hillbilly in the countryside
I hope that P-51 Mustang(?) is flyable
So what was this?
IIRC it's an in-development game called Pioneer that was having some development hurdles within Ubi that delayed it a bit around the time WD2 came out.
Key art just got released:
I cannot take that art seriously, but then again, 3 and 4 didn't have great art either
Key art just got released:
Hold up, is that Willis's yellow plane? Will we see that patriotic son of a bitch again?
Key art just got released:
They really are going full hillbilly
i'm hoping you play as a game warden or county sherrif who stumbles into them doing some fucked up shit but can't do anything about it because of private property laws, when you decide to take the law into your own hands
Hold up, is that Willis's yellow plane? Will we see that patriotic son of a bitch again?
Nah, his wasn't outfitted for water landings
They really are going full hillbilly
I really don't know what you mean, I wouldn't be surprised to find any one of those people other than maybe one of them working on their queer theory dissertation at a starbucks on their brand new imac. [editline]24th May 2017[/editline] All they need is thick black-rimmed glasses.
I hoped for a western. Shame
I love the premise. Setting it in rural U.S. is fucking great, a christian cult enemy is great, the rumors of being a local sheriff pushed to the limit are great. But Ubisoft's track record is terrifying. I've afraid they're going to include stupid things like the weird mystical segments that serve no purpose and make no sense, the weird drug trip missions that serve no purpose and make no sense, the stale radio tower viewpoints, your ally group going full dipshit at the end and turning against you. Their track record leads me to believe it'll be a completely lackluster experience with tired gameplay, horrible story cohesion, terrible writing trying to force drama, and predictable plot "twists".
I assume the locale for the next far cry game will be the fyre festival
Although at least with this setting it'll make some sense why your game ends when you kill more than two civilians. As opposed to somehow the whole world ending because you killed a handful in a firefight or while driving around or while just fucking around in the middle of a rebellion torn under-developed country. I find Ubisoft's "No civilian deaths at all." thing funny.

Time to neck myself.
They haven't even shown the fucking game yet and we have people already shitting themselves I have disdain for like everything Ubisoft does but this is just hilariously assumptious
