Getting a high powered sniper rifle might as well get one that can set almost 2 mile long record kills.

Doesn't Jamie from Mythbusters own that gun, but in black?
I'm in a Tux, about to go to my Brother's Wedding.
Be ballsy, and do your brothers fiance/wife.
Be ballsy, and do your brothers fiance/wife.
But what if his brother's gay and getting married to a man?
Go for it anyway.
Remember: It's not rape if you yell surprise!
Why does ANYONE need explosives? Unless you have a reason, like some form of Law Enforcement why would anyone want explosives and why would anyone give them to you?
I believe the real question there is: Why would anyone NOT need explosives? Explosives are fucking awesome. Its just like owning a firearm, its almost impossible not to have fun with them unless you are using them in an unsafe manner.
Agreed Timebomb

We should meet.

I agree to agree.
I'd rather have airsoft than real firearms. To me shooting at stationary targets seems like it would get boring pretty fast.

Yeah same. Although having a few real guns would be kinda cool. Especially something like a K98k, SKS and Makarov because the airsoft versions aren't that great/don't exist.

Then mix it up a little. If you're feeling bored, go knock over a 7-11 for all it's cash and slurpees. If you're depressed or frustrated over girls, etc. Go to your local bank, hand the wonderful female teller a note, asking for all the cash, and her phone number if she's hot. On days you feel happy, head to the mall with an AK-47, and play hide and go seek. Only if you find them, they lose. For good.

Sounds like you've done that sort of thing before.

Nah, but when I was a bit younger, I managed to break into a church/school by climbing onto the second story, and scaling it. Imagine Sam Fisher climbing up a wall.
And all I got out of that, was a can of Mountain Dew.
Timebomb more like Da-bomb

My parents told my grandma that I had a lot of interest in Communism and it's history (USSR, Cuba, etc.). She grew up in East Germany and reminded me that it was those "Communists" that I'm so interested in that caused the deaths and suffering of many in my family. Made me kind of sad :frown:

Its too bad that communism has a shitty reputation due to its tenancy to spawns dictatorships, because its a nice system in theory. Sadly it will never work because of human nature.

I agree. It will never work completely, but I do believe to a certain degree it would.
In my opinion some capitalist elements are needed for society to function properly but everything essential should be government controlled.

Which parts exactly do you think would work? I like to hear peoples reasoning (I just went to a big socialist gathering at my college just to hear their thoughts actually :v:)

See now as a libertarian, I wholeheartedly disagree. I think the government should have a little power as possible. Their main job should be protect the people from harm (standing army), to enforce basic checks on capitalism (IE: Minimum wage, OSHA) to prevent abuse of workers, and to enforce laws decided by the people through democratic processes. There's way too much potential for corruption and abuse with big government (as there is currently).

Well it really depends on what you define as Communism, since it has been changed so much over time. The main problem with it is that power corrupts very easily. Once the proletariat takes control, you have to be very careful with power balance. There's various stages that Communism goes through, basically you start out with having the proletariat as the leader (but not a overpowerful dictator), then it fades into a large and very democratic government. After that the government fades away and it becomes an Anarchist state. I only believe that it would really work up to having the large, democratic government. I'm not completely convinced that anarchism would work very well.
Not much of that makes sense, I've been writing a paper on Joseph Stalin all day so I'm mentally exhausted from reading about Communism.

The problem with communism is that it largely requires an honest and uncorrupt group of people that genuinely care for the people they rule over, and a populus that understands that they individually might need to make sacrafices for the good of the whole.
In a perfect society full of smart, understanding people, this works excellently and everyone is as happy as they possibly can be. Sadly, that society doesn't exist, people are stupid, selfish, and corrupt, and thus, Communism never usually makes it past step one (as you describe it), and they just turn into violent dictatorships or military juntas.
I suppose it never hurts to be optimistic though :v:

I'm also going to go ahead and say that this is the least heated political discussion ever to go on on Facepunch EVER. :v:
Well, I think you all know what I have to say to this:

Yep I think you are right haha. I think that right now, Communism doesn't make sense for lots of people in first world countries because most people are living quite well. According to Marx though, once the ruling elite become so corrupt that the working people are almost treated as slaves, then there will be a revolution which will cause the country to become socialist, then communist. I think that under the right circumstances, Communism can do well. We just have to wait and see if Capitalism will fail as badly as Marx predicted.

It's because we're not in GD. If we were every retard would be calling Stupideye an angsty teen.
I'm slightly a fan of Marxism.

The thing is though, even after the revolution happens, who's to say the new breed of government officials aren't corrupted? Look at the USSR for example.
This would all be so much easier if dickheads didn't run for office :frown:
[editline]25th October 2010[/editline]
That's why I like Libertarianism, if the government is small, there's a smaller chance for corruption, and the corrupted ones are easier to weed out.
