I liked it the first year. Our AI left and after that the place started to go to shit. Hypocrites and laziness was all over the place and we had a new AI every month (Navy, Airforce, two National Guardsmen and our retired Colonel who was getting too old for the job, as much as I like him). I was a Platoon Sergeant my second year, and I wasn't all the great because I was trying to teach them things I was never taught myself. Generally, I just felt bad because I wasn't giving them the proper training they'd need so I resigned. Not even a week after I quit my post I was PROMOTED to Master Sergeant and Platoon Leader. At that point I kind of lost faith in the system and just didn't reapply after that.
AI came back last year, I kind of wanted to reapply but I had other obligations. I miss the uniform and program. There wasn't enough discipline for me I guess. If I had stayed in the program I'd be a Company Commander or something by now. Maybe it was because I was the only guy with his shit together that year.
