Fuck yeah.
You do realize they'll find out eventually that Santa isn't real, just let them have their time to make-believe, imagination is just as important as logic.
There are many ways to reach imagination to use the most often taken will lead to traffic jams.
Why did this become the "Archonet becomes needlessly defensive" thread after just a few minutes?
There are many ways to reach imagination.
Such as drugs. Or alcohol.
And there you go again taking something I say and turning it back around. Learn to insult correctly before you go and insult people.
I'm obviously getting you angry, which by the way was the objective of my comment.

Defensive of WHAT?
Why did this become the "Archonet becomes needlessly defensive" thread after just a few minutes?
I don't know, but now I'm on the defensive because I don't wanna lie to my kids about Santa Clause.

I'm more or less amused by your ongoing stupidity.

Because then they're not kids, they're just little adults.
Your children sound like they'd be dull people for my children to be around.
I'm more or less amused by your ongoing stupidity.
No, you're an idiot.
You said my insults were not working, and yet you are getting angry, AT MY INSULTS.
Hurp derp.

Holy motherfuck, do you EVER quit posting?!
Why not? Especially if its a trivial truth. Santa does not make a child hood.
The way it sounds is that you have bias towards the more "imaginative" parts of childhood. You said in your OP that you got "hurt" when you discovered the truth, and obviously you now have a negative disposition towards it.
You don't hate Santa Claus because he's fake, you hate him because he reminds you of when you discovered he was fake, and you apparently refuse to even let kids have the potential for enjoying these imaginative aspects of Christmas simply because of this bias.

From what I can recall, the most dull people I've ever met, were told about Santa.

I hate the whole idea behind it. Parents teach their children to not lie to them and go around a few years later and pull the bag off their head. And how is this just about Santa? So I don't lie about santa or anything like that. What about things like Pokemon, dragons, fantasy books. You make it sound like Santa is the only thing that produces a childhood.

You're assuming kids are stupid enough to think, "Hey, my mom and dad lied to me about Santa, those traitors, I can never trust them again!" By the time the parents tell them, the kids will have most likely figured it out. Do you think that a child, upon being told that Santa isn't real, will be irreparably damaged for life?
Also, do you really think Pokemon, dragons, and fantasy books can be comparable to Santa and the Tooth Fairy? I can remember from my childhood that they gave very different vibes between each other.
Actually, I remember when we started to talk about this very thing back in Sociology Freshman year of University, the conclusion of it was that things such as Santa and the Tooth Fairy are meant to be facets of Western culture. By denying children a childhood of these holiday icons, you are depriving them of aspects of the culture they're growing up in.

It's just the start of the pathway to knowing everything you once knew is basically a lie.
EG what happens first semester in almost every science course (and you have to learn all these new rules)

Where as my own class finished up our entire semester on this discussion before we left for winter break. Half the class came to your conclusion while the half I was part of came to the conclusion that the idea of giving was more important than the figure head, we didn't see a negative because that meant the child would look else where delving into other cultures making them more interesting as a whole by adding something different that other were not growing up in.
And last time I checked, dragons, chivalry and knights in shining armor were was a was just as important as Santa clause and the Tooth fairy.
to me, childhood is anything before your first blowjob.

So, you just have a thing against Western culture.
Kids that age are sponges for this kind of stuff, it's not like if you're feeding them Western culture then they'll be immune to anything else unless they're never exposed to it, cultural relativism (which is exactly what you're arguing in your last sentence) isn't something that requires you to sacrifice your own culture in order to achieve.

Well it's certainly a good start, however I still fail to see why selectively removing parts you don't like help.

Of course, because my childhood of DBZ and Pokemon was soooooo Western. Just about the only thing I grew up with that was really western were the original Looney Toons, Monty Python and bunch of Cartoon Network cartoons like Dexter and Johnny Bravo. Above all else Santa really is the last on my list since I was (And most likely still am) spoiled little shit that only wanted to the gifts.
