Well done dreads can look good on anyone.
It's just so many people have shitty dreads. Two of my friends got them. One didn't look after his so they haven't locked properly and the other did his during his English classes at school.
I'm getting them next year when my hair grows longer.

Yeah, I personally think it's a sweet hairstyle
I'd love to have dreadlocks. But I also love being bald. And not having dandruff. And being cool in the summer. And not being singled out by the cops and employers as a potential marijuana user. So I'm sticking with bald.

I like dreads, but I think blonde dreads look awful.
Anyone seen fairly short dreads? Like 4" or so? I'd try it sometime if I thought they'd come out well, but I'm not really willing to grow my hair out long..

I know a girl who had ones around 4" before she cut them off for a dare.
They were really damn good. She looked better with them than with normal hair.
Yes. My circle of friends is hippy orientated.
For some people, dreadlocks can give character like any hairstyle.
I always thought the thinner looking ones were better, but I have blonde hair anyway.
It'd still be something i'd like to do at some point though.

I once saw someone with a huge 6 foot dreadlock thats about 10 inch diameter hanging from the back of his head.

Ye. She's hot, but her hair sure isn't. I'm definitely not a fan of dreads. I don't even particularly like long hair, unless it's really well-kept.

You're probably right. I think it's mostly because he has a high hair line though.
I have a friend who's had dreads two different times. The first time they looked pretty bad tbh, they were badly made, not even close to round or even in any way. They just looked like long ugly clumps of hair.
He later shaved them off, then after growing out his hair for a year or two he got new ones. They were so much more well made and looked way better.
I think it's all about how much effort you put into making them and taking care of them.
I've been thinking about getting dreads myself, but I'm not sure I'm ready for it since it puts a pretty clear label on you. I should also keep growing my hair out some more first.
