Those dreads look really slick. I sure wouldn't mind having those, but again, how the hell do you wash your hair?!
Do you have to undo 'em, wash your hair and do 'em all over again, or what?
nope, you wash it like normal hair but you gotta use a certain shampoo, or none at all, since ordinary champoo tends to stick around in form of chemicals and shit that will fuck your scalp up, creating dandruff. the certain shampoo is residue free and leaves no chemicals but you still needs to make sure to wash it all out really well.
And then you gotta make sure everything dries up well. no one likes sunky dreadlocks. I usually takes a bike run right after shower to dry it up.
cleaning and maintaining dreadlocks means more work than normal long hair, fuck me i probably don't do it as well as i should, but it is absolutely possible to work it out! I'm sure thar any other person would have pretty darn shitty hair if they didn't take care of it.
There was a guy with dreads doing a windmill at a concert I was at and bunch of people where getting pissed because he was hitting them with his dirty ass dreads all the time so they tackled him. Was fun.
Brian Fair indeed has epic dreads, but personally I think that this thread can't go without the guy who has dreads that make me want dreads: Tomi Joutsen.

At the moment I'm planning to get dreadlocks when my hair gets a bit longer.
I'm surprised by the amount of Swedes in this thread.
I swear facepunch is 80% swedish, I see no end of them.

Wherever I go
I have a white friend with dreads and he pulls them off okay

It never ceases to amaze me how uninformed people are about dreadlocks.
You HAVE to wash dreads or they come apart. You use a special shampoo made for dreads that gets rid of all the slippery gunk that normal shampoo and conditioner leave behind which unlock dreads.
Also if you don't wash them, they stink..

I know it seems hard homie, but washing dreads isn't all that different. It requires a lot more maintenance, but in the end its just watching out for dandruff and applying dread wax on and on.
I had braids done in my life,
Made the black girls wet themselves.

You look like a nerd who was trying to look cool.
I have nothing against nerds, but don't try to be someone you're not.
It makes you look like an idiot.

now now, alot of people seriously doesn't care if they look like idiots! for all i know there's people who will do things to themselves just to look like actual idiots. which is to express their crazy personality. and i have nothing against that.
I like dreads, the people that have them are usually hippie, stoner festival kinda people which I like.
A girl with dreads tells me she is outgoning and likes to stand in the front row of a heavy metal concert (like me)
Going for a Kurt Cobain look myself.
i think dreads are pretty awesome, most of the people i've met whove had dreads have been really cool as well.
My babies, nearly 7 months old...

Before anyone asks.. yes I do wash them
Wow, a lot of people here seem to hate dreadlocks, but I suppose most facepunchers got a good reason to, since they're all so good at fashion/style. Oh wait..
you can tell me whatever you want but dreadlocks nowadays don't belong in mainstream fashion, so i don't know what you're talking about. I don't like them because they look dirty, no matter how much you wash them, some people wear them nice, but they never really look taken care of.
Personally as a Asian, I don't think it will look good on me. Any opinions?

Really depends on your hair, don't worry about race. Anyways, dreadlocks were not just popular in African culture, but also in Buddhism. I'd suggest going for the wool hat technique (its easy to comb out if you don't like it) and if you like it, you can maybe try backcombing or twisting.
Most people I seen with dreadlocks are either calm and level headed, or full out rockers, I actually fit both descriptions, When I had long hair I was thinking of it, but I had to cut it for school.
White guys
Please don't do this.

i think that would look hilarious, i have never seen an asian with dreadlocks, i just can't imagine it.
best dreads in my opinion,

why not its their decision on what they can do with their hair so don't be racist because a different race is doing it

i was talking about the hair
I was once standing behind this dude with awesome dreads in an escalator, and I have always had a weak spot for guys with dreads, so I look down and I see my own arm extending in front of me to touch his hair.
Luckily I managed to stop myself, but I was only inches away from doing it.
