Sorry for so late late reply, but I may excuse me because I do have a 5 months old baby. I may explain this as some one already explained because of cleaning and washing, that is true. But if you smell other babies, they don't smell any special. The explanation for this is the baby is your own creation which gives the hormonal bond with your child.
To put it more non-baby way, it's like your own shit/fart, it does feel comfortable if it's your own, but go to toilet where someone else just had made the release, it feels just too bad.

Do you mean like the smell? What if you and someone else happened to fart at the same time in the sense that the your fart was audible but didn't produce a smell and the other person's was silent but produced a smell. Would you still be ok with the smell or would you be able to realize it's another person's?
