Hey kids, Let's do some drugs 'Kay??
it would make sense with the memorizaton this is a lot to put in your head and play in order.
lol
I'm sure it's very relaxing and helpful with stress, but it's not some spiritual experience where your head and gooch chakra's get aligned. I also don't see why this type of thing is necessary, I suffer through the bullshit I'm given and I'm pretty sure that I'm stronger for it, I don't puss out and expect sitting down and lazing about to help me, I roll up my fucking sleeves.
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/2174763/qigong_master_boils_water_with_his_hands_pyrokinesis/ Now tell me eastern science is bullshit.
Eastern "science" is bullshit.
No it's not, you're being a racist ignorant because you're close minded. GTFO plzkthxbai
Yeah, it's close minded for him not to accept your made up bullshit at face value, on the other hand, your mind is so open you wont even listen to anyone else.
some of this type of shit is good for stress and muscles i got my heart rate so low that i was freezing cold when i stopped
I'm not sure that that's a good thing.
You may have noticed that the Chakra's follow the spectrum of the rainbow, or visible light, this is of course absolutely no coincedince. It is possible, with practice and meditation, to see one's aura. Around each chakra, the colour of the chakra will dominate (Auras are scientifically proven, no shitstorm needed thx). *a-a-a-fucking-hem* Auras are fucking bullshit, find me a single scientific study that says anything about the mystical auras you're talking about. You may at some point begin to feel any of several side effects of this (not bad ones, of course). Muscles twitching - This is the release of blocks of your energy. Chi, Ka, Life Energy, Prana, etc. It is a scientifically proven electromagnetic energy around each of us. Through life, without acknowledging this energy, it can become blocked and stop flowing in spots. Do not be alarmed if this happens, it will probably feel very good anyway. Electromagnetic energy? Do you mean in one of the forms found in the Electromagnetic Spectrum, because you'd be hard pressed to find something that doesn't give off electromagnetic energy. You may feel as though you have begun to float. This is because conciousness is literally raised, and your Spirit/Awareness/Soul is beginning to expand and become fully aware, radiating outwards. It should not be expected every time you meditate, though it can. I don't know that I can say anything to this, other than the fact that it's made up bullshit. Visuals may occur, from colours swirling, to full on visions. Make whatever you wish of these, what I've said already is probably controversial enough for FP. I see weird shit when I close my eyes too, do I get a medal? Wether you meditate to relax, or for spiritual/religious purposes, there is no downside. Beginners might like to start at 15 minutes every other day. I recommend meditation in the morning. If you don't "Have the time to", get up a few minutes earlier, it will benefit you the rest of the day. I effectively meditate for about 7 hours a day, I call it sleep. You will feel energized, relaxed, and positive.
some of this type of shit is good for stress and muscles i got my heart rate so low that i was freezing cold when i stopped it wasn't really eastern meditation though it involved tensing then relaxing each muscle one at a time for like 40 mins
You actually expect Facepunch to do this? Even I, king of all bullshit, see meditation as a dumb idea.

You have all right to be suspicious of these practices, but my experiences with Chinese herbology have proven to me that a lot of Chinese medical practices are valid and do work. Try going to a traditional Chinese doctor next time you have back pain or a headache, it's an experience you don't want to miss. I say this in the most sincere way possible. It's quite relaxing.

If I've got a headache, I'll take some paracetamol, co-codamol or ibuprofen I'm not going to shell out 50 quid for some mountebank to "solve it".

Wow spAnkey you're making yourself look like a cynical intolerant grade a faggot
Meditation should be relaxing because you are basically relaxing your muscles and thinking peaceful things. The reason Chinese herbology works is because medicine is based on using plants to produce medicine, most of the active ingredients of the drugs you use were originally isolated from plants and/or herbs. So Chinese medicine is not very different in that respect, but the problem is you cannot be sure that the herb you take is the one that contains the active ingredient you need, and mixing drugs can have serious consequences. Also on that note, while acupuncture seems silly, it is actually more based on science that any of the other alternative medicine practices. By at least manipulating and stimulating nerves in specific points you can alleviate pain, but this is more based on actual anatomy than all that aura and chakra crap.
Why so many dumb ratings?
I hate the closed mind of most people, that is because they refuse to just try something new for themselves. I hate how people just go single minded along and not fully experience the full potential of the human body. We only use 10% of our brain for God's sake, there is so much more to the human body that we have yet to find out.
The whole "we only use 10% of our brain" thing is a myth. Demanding evidence before accepting such amazing claims as this (magic chakra stuff in our bodies) is not being close minded. http://www.auraphoto.com/fundementals/interactive.shtml Proof of "Mystical Aura Bullshit". Also, to Sp00ks, a placebo makes it no less real if it has the same effects. For those of you saying this is BS, go try it. You may not believe the spirit/soul ascension, or chakras, but go try it. See what happens, you lazy pansies.
I should do this while high, I would be trippin bawls.

It might help, but it's not actually doing anything.

Lol placebo
Why don't you go try this, then say it's bullshit.
Only use 10% of your brain? Yeah it seems like YOU do. If you hadn't posted about that chakra magic people might have tried it.
Wow spAnkey you're making yourself look like a cynical intolerant grade a faggot
I'm intolerant of bullshit, I admitted that meditation calms you, but it doesn't do anything outside of that.
Why don't you go try this, then say it's bullshit.
Anecdotal evidence isn't proof of anything. Tell me, would you know that there was a specific effect if you hadn't studied this stuff in depth beforehand?
I'm intolerant of bullshit, I admitted that meditation calms you, but it doesn't do anything outside of that.
No it's the placebo stopping you from feeling anything. :rolleye:
No it's the placebo stopping you from feeling anything. :rolleye:
What do you mean? My mind dulls the areas of perception, that's like so meta. Maybe it's my problem with anything that's considered to be a "spiritual" activity, I prefer to have some logical reason to think something.
I've done this before when I was going through this whole "kickboxing" phase. It's really relaxing. :)
Shutup Ashely you're a man in disguise
Shutup Ashely you're a man in disguise
Real original.
Ok, that's neat. So if science hasn't figured out how the Venus Fly Trap closes it's mouth I'm probably imagining it right?
No, because we can demonstrate scientifically that the fly trap closes it's mouth. You're using a straw man. [editline]11:46PM[/editline]
I hate the closed mind of most people, that is because they refuse to just try something new for themselves.
