Life doesn't have a fucking meaning.
Too live a rich and happy life. Collect good memories and loose bad ones.
i hate that fucking word chance doesn't have a thing to do with it, the universe has guiding laws and it acts by those laws god damn i hate the fuckers who are all "COULDN'T GET HERE BY CHANCE HURP DURP"
What about quantum mechanics and all of its (as far as I know) random magic?
If you think about the meaning of life for an extensive period of time, overlooking nihilistic principles you will go mental. The human brain cannot comprehend nothingness. Just as it cannot comprehend infinity and the fact that there could be an infinite number of meanings to life.
It might be impossible for a human brain to comprehend a physical notion of infinity but that's only one approach. Infinity and nothingness are easy enough to comprehend with a bit of abstraction. When talking about comprehending an "infinite number of meanings to life" you're basically saying "infinitely many of these abstract objects" which is hardly an impossible notion to grasp and work with rigorously.
May I point you towards Existentialism? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Existentialism
Why should life have a meaning
Oh boy, here we go.
The meaning of life? Yeah, I've had a team working on this over the past few weeks, and what we've come up with can be reduced to two fundamental concepts. One: People aren't wearing enough hats. Two: Matter is energy.
After skipping the last 10 posts, is god real?
To live. That's the meaning of it. We eat food to live, we get a job to make food to live, we buy houses so we can live in a protected area, and we raise kids so our legacy will live on when we die. That's the meaning of life. Living.
What every living organism lives for to reproduce..
If life is meaningless, everything is meaningless.
There's more to the universe than life so that's a huge logical leap. Any sort of meaning you think of is ultimately logically unjustified so at any analytical level the world is certainly meaningless. [editline]12th June 2011[/editline]
What every living organism lives for to reproduce..
Nah that's a mistake. Evolution has taught us the explanation for why life exists in such complex forms. It says nothing about us having any sort of purpose whatsoever, and lacks any modal tense. [editline]12th June 2011[/editline]
then i guess you could say that the meaning of rain is to fall humans and animals have the natural purpose of continuing their species
If you say the former you totally misunderstand the objective of modal sentences.
We are here to love.
Meaning, in this context, is a silly concept. Everything is meaningless in the end.
Meaning is all about personal interpretation of something, so the meaning of life is simply whatever you consider it to be.
The only reason most people find it so unacceptable that no meaning whatsoever exists is because humans have evolved to aggressively search for it in almost literally everything. Part of what we consider our intelligence. If you can set this aside, though, you'll find that the idea that life should have some "meaning" is kind of patently irrational. Given the evidence so far, we have no reason to think that humanity is more favored in a cosmic sense than any other collection of matter. We come from - and operate under - the same laws that created stars and hexagonal crystal systems. It's subtle and calming. If you can get used to it, I think it's better than assuming you live under some burden of "meaning."
Make your first step through school, live te adventures, get a wife, make a great career, get kids and buy a dog for them. Just having a great life untill the end arrives, but what i think about death is that you reborn again so just do it all over again, so many kids.
life is to find the definition for what life is
The meaning of life is to enjoy your life whilst also bringing joy to others lives. and sex and money. lots of sex and money.
Psychological meaning of life: To think about the meaning of life. It's a giant mindfuck. Biological meaning of life: Procreation.
I'd argue the meaning of life is not to think about the meaning of life. Live an animals life but nothing more.
The Meaning of Life is to LIVE IT!
No meaning... well by today's standards, or by your parent's expectations, goal of life is to become successful. But other than that, happiness is something everyone wants out of life, in one way or another. But let's put aside that individual bullshit, and focus on something bigger. Something pretty "funny" that I've noticed is that, many different sets of people have tried and failed, tried again and again, lived. And now here WE are, and not our precedents because they are gone, and sooner or later we will follow too. Our lives end quick, but humans still move on. And to what end? Maybe that's the ultimate goal of life. Or maybe it won't end. And in that case we would debate about the meaning of life endlessly. [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] My mind wanders..
The meaning of life is actually [(2*2) + 3]*{[(2*1.6) * 1.25] * 1.5} But you can simplify that down to 42 if you want.
the meaning of life is to create the ultimate porno that everyone can fap to at the same time
there is no actual meaning of life. you are only alive because you were lucky enough to be born. you have the ability to give your life meaning, but there is no real meaning. life is essentially whatever you want it to be.
The meaning of life is to live. Not sit on your ass wishing you could do things. In reality, In what really matters to us all, Life is all in the end, Just worth another moment.
that's not the meaning of life. all you're saying is that the meaning of life is what you can draw from your perception of the world
That's exactly what I'm saying Life isn't imbued with some objective meaning bro
I don't know about the meaning of life, but seriously The Hunting of the Snark was a fucking terrifying book when I was 5. IT MAKES PEOPLE VANISH, WHY IS THIS A KIDS BOOK?! [editline]13th June 2011[/editline]
We are here to love.
So would you say someone devoid of empathy is a pointless person who has no meaning in their life? Or someone who is kept isolated from everyone else for their whole life is worth nothing?
Trying to find a meaning to life is like trying to find meaning to an asteroid falling into orbit with a planet. Either one is an occurrence of pure chance.
I kinda feel the meaning of life is whatever you want it to be. For me the meaning of life is in music. It is the most important thing in the world to me and I don't know how I could live without it.
Life is probably the future of the universe.
