i want to know what went through a designers head when they made zofia arbitrarily take less stun from elas mines ontop of being able to self revive other than "lets make her unique" its just kind of baffling
It's for the same reason Dokkabi can't call Echo, even though Vigil is the one that is in her unit; they want interoperator interactions. Giving an op an extra edge over a specific other operator is a way to make counters easily. It's not because they're sisters that they take each others stun easily - it's because they take each others stun easily that they are sisters.
The only bad thing about Siege at the moment is Ela the "I'm a special snowflake with dyed anime hair tumblr grrl with a gun that has an extreme rate of fire, a huge magazine, high damage, laserbeam recoil to the point you can just hipfire, combined with gadget motion sensor mines that turn an enemy's keyboard and mouse into a clumsy controller, and the devs believe this is balanced, claiming her role is to take out multiple people in a firefight at the same time" ultra omegacancer """"""""""operator""""""""""
Siege is a great game but I just wish it didn't have Tom Clancy or Rainbow's name on it because it feels like a whole other game. IMO I think they could've released it as "Siege" or something similar and had the same success and maybe have a lot less arguing about operator designs. Ubisoft could've had a whole new IP from this.
I wish it didn't have Tom Clancy's name attached to it because it makes the title really fucking long
I just wish ttk wasn't measured in fucking microseconds. It can be very unfun when some dude with the best mouse aim on the planet is able to instantly kill you the moment he sees your head.
[editline]19th January 2018[/editline] Yeah except Echo and Dokka don't have anything to do with each other in the lore
Echo helped Dokka create her tech, but we all know Ubisoft didn't want to make an entirely new animation just for Echo :v: [editline]19th January 2018[/editline]
i want to know what went through a designers head when they made zofia arbitrarily take less stun from elas mines ontop of being able to self revive other than "lets make her unique" its just kind of baffling
They wanted to compensate for cutting the Polish season and map, but IMO they went overboard
I think its great that you gotta wait 2 fuckin' years for a ubisoft game to become good. Same shit happened with the Division.
The new review gives the game .6 more points than the initial review when the game launched. How much less good could it have been?
Another guy has a big chunk of plastic on his gun that can stop full size rifle rounds. Expecting anything to be even close to the real world is silly.
Know what else that character has? Plates and a chest rig. No where did I say I was expecting 100% real world adherence. Ying has robocop armor ffs but it fits within the world. Ela clearly stands out from all the other ops because she doesn't look like a character that would be in a tactical shooter. She looks like a watchdogs reject they slapped a shitty backstory on and gave her a game breaking loadout. [editline]19th January 2018[/editline]
The new review gives the game .6 more points than the initial review when the game launched. I feel like Siege is only as good as it is because it has no real competitors for what it is. If they modernized an old legit Tom Clancy game like Raven shield without the bullshit modern garbage like ~Loot crates~ and all that cosmetic bullshit that ruins the whole atmosphere of the game. I'd drop Siege in a heartbeat for that. I'm sure quite a few would too.

Alpha packs are actually a good thing because you can unlock cosmetics without having to buy them now. Worst thing to complain about when there's actual issues.
snip
you can buy them with real money as well im pretty sure or maybe not, I havent launched the game in a few days, let me check
you have never been able to buy them with real money.
I just wish ttk wasn't measured in fucking microseconds. It can be very unfun when some dude with the best mouse aim on the planet is able to instantly kill you the moment he sees your head.
But aiming is only a very small part of the equation in the game. It's far more about map knowledge, spacial awareness and understanding the situation you're in than just being able to line up shots. If you know your aim is not good enough to peak and shoot people perfectly there is an arsenal of tools at your disposal to allow you to get the drop on people in many different ways. [editline]20th January 2018[/editline]
It would be only a few. Siege isn't being played for the reasons the older games were.
This argument has always baffled me when you can take any given footage of the old Rainbow Six games and superpose them onto Siege and they have the same game flow. The only difference is that Siege has a predominantly multiplayer component when the older games would have AI controlled squadmates.
I just wish ttk wasn't measured in fucking microseconds.
lmao are you really trying to argue that better players with better aim don't deserve to win fights more often?
No?? Quit putting words in my mouth, goddamn. It's just frustrating when you're holding an angle or something and the very moment some dude's face appears in the tiny sliver of visible doorway or window or whatever and you instantly fall over and die. [editline]20th January 2018[/editline] Sorry I offended your platinum sensibilities by saying that getting bodied is frustrating.

[editline]20th January 2018[/editline] Sorry I offended your platinum sensibilities by saying that getting bodied is frustrating.
You realize you are just saying it's frustrating when you die and that you think you should die slower instead. Regardless of how much you extend the ttk, if he gets the first shot on you you're still going to die. What are you trying to say
I mean what youre saying exactly what he said lol. Youre complaining that people better than you win.
No. It's just too jarring and sudden. When you die by ohko headshot, you don't hear anything, just that dumb droning bass noise. My reaction time isn't the greatest, I'll readily admit; but when some sanic motherfucker zips by the narrow two inches of two doorways I'm aiming through, only to take another pass, but this time with bullets, before I can even finish crouching/proning/moving anywhere? It gets tiring just having to say, "Oh, guess I'm dead now. Ok." And I am trying to leverage all the tools available to me. I try to use cameras to watch the rooms in front of me so I can see them coming before they find me, I try to drone out a room if I think the enemy is there, etc. But frequently my prep is just not good enough. I prefire if I see/hear them coming, but they just seemingly move between my bullets and hose me down. It certainly doesn't help that I frequently do get matched against people far outside my skill level. I'm mid silver at best, yet I'm constantly going up against platinums/high golds in casual; I don't enjoy only being in the match to be some dude's practice target. They presented, and still present, the game as some sort of methodical tactical game rather than some high-octane slaughterfest. They talk up the planning, tactics, and strategy at every turn on the game's page and each video, but it's hardly there. In short, it feels like every pound I put in trying to leverage tactics and gadgets gets eliminated with less than an ounce of aimsense, and I feel like the extremely low TTK is a contributing factor. Having the TTK raised even a little bit would allow disengaging from bad situations to take on from a different angle.

Honestly if you dont like 1hko's, then maybe siege aint for you.

Having the TTK raised even a little bit would allow disengaging from bad situations to take on from a different angle.
So... Just unlucky or not good enough or both then?... You want bullshit? Try Counter Strike, where you get motherfuckers that prefire corners and sometimes connect 2 shots from 2 hit weapons before you can even think about shooting. Heck, I'm one of those guys every now and then! You know what works great in Siege? Doing secondary routes and not peeking the objective the whole time. As an attacker, don't go through the shortest way to the objective. Take another path along with a teammate or even alone. Beware of Frost's traps though. A good Frost imo will randomly set her traps closeish to the objective but in random spots that MAYBE people would think about. As a defender, either take the room next to the objective in a corner you know people aren't gonna easily see you and that you aren't gonna easily see them, so that none can be seen by nobody, but the defender can always hear them coming. It also works, maybe even in a better way, to hide somewhere you'd think the attackers would come through, again, in a spot where you can't see but can hear them. The idea is to rely more on sound and opportunity of getting a shot at them by surprise, instead of getting right in their sights trying to take them out. Or else, you might get bullshit players that prefire every single corner looking for the one tap. Really, the best thing about FPS games like this, CSGO, and even fucking CoD (at least back in MW2 when you had footstep sound perks) is using sound against the enemy. It's almost as useful as actually seeing them. Why, its basicaly "seeing" them through walls even.

mag pouches for her ammo. I know what her role is, but nobody else in her role has yoga pants or neon green hair. Its just bad character design.

If you're dying that much maybe you should try to get some situational awareness.
I'm amazed at how effective of a strategy it is to place a shield at a doorway to the objective and placing a frost trap behind it.
I'm amazed at how effective of a strategy it is to place a shield at a doorway to the objective and placing a frost trap behind it.
I haven't played Siege in at least 8 months or so, but damn, I remember frost being so damn fun.
I'm amazed at how effective of a strategy it is to place a shield at a doorway to the objective and placing a frost trap behind it.
The new strat is to put a star of david of needles around the hostage or biohazard container as Lesion.
The new strat is to put a star of david of needles around the hostage or biohazard container as Lesion.
I lay Frost traps all around the hostage. Best case, I nab someone. Worst case, they make a bunch of noise destroying the traps, alerting us of them.
I'm amazed at how effective of a strategy it is to place a shield at a doorway to the objective and placing a frost trap behind it.
I just got a round winning kill because Zofia tried to snatch the hostage by jumping through the bedroom window. Little did she know I had my mousetrap there :v: Another great operator: Echo You know how drones are really useful to find people? Well imagine you get one at defense, and people all converge to you, and since you got your drone hidden near them and they have no idea of it, you just pop out of cover and bang them up. Bonus points for Bomb gamemode. Hide yourself and throw your drone. Now watch the attackers try and plant the bomb when you're constantly annoying them with your echo blast. People also don't really expect Hibana sometimes, so they'll peek over the destroyed fortified wall and get HSed from afar. This game is fantastic because of this. So many fun ways to play.
