So most likely it may have been an aircraft? Possibly a helicopter or a plane coming in for landing.
I dont see him mention the light flashing green and red or something like plane strobe lights so it cant be a helo or plane either.
I dont see him mention the light flashing green and red or something like plane strobe lights so it cant be a helo or plane either.
It still could be. Just not as likely without the strobes.
Mine is a bit harder to explain as a plane.
Single witness, me- overcast day, outside in back yard, looking towards the east, when a large light zips across the sky. And I didn't see a light-light, like it looked like a light cast against the cloud cover. The speed and the maneuvering (moving to the west, right left right in fluid motion, very fast and over a large area) make it unlikely it was a plane unless it was a military aircraft at very low altitude, which even then doesn't account for size or lack of noise.
So the first thing I suspected was ball lightning, because that's an explanation alot of UFO sightings get, but that's very rare and it doesn't fit very well. The second thing I thought of was a showlight (y'know, one of those big beam lights they cast into the sky and wave around for events and stuff) but considering that I lived in the middle of nowhere, there would be no place or reason to have showlights, and showlights would have persisted for a while and would have been seen again.
So Iunno. That's my only personal experience, and I'm not saying it's aliens or flying saucers. My acceptance of the UFOs thing is mostly based off "I want to believe" and some somewhat interesting evidence in certain cases.
It was a lot like a flare from a flare gun. There were three things that made it different, though:
1. It floated VERY slowly rather than going at a considerable speed for a flare.
2. It was floating horizontal. When people shoot flares, they generally shoot them vertically, not to mention the area my family and I witnessed the UFO was literally surrounded by a bunch of trees. Also, even if a flare was to be shot horizontally, it would drop slowly to the ground. This did not happen.
3. When a flare goes off, generally it takes a few seconds for the light to die off. That didn't happen either. This one is a little sketchy in my mind, honestly. The first two are the ones I can definitely remember.
Edit: To help you understand, here's a video of someone shooting a flare at night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzpS9ZXZPq8
You and your family see something extremely comparable to a flare and you jump to the conclusion that it is alien?
Dude, who are we to say that bigfoot does or does not exist. I mean, is it not possible that some guy had passionate intercourse with a gorilla and then they gave birth to a herd of bigfeet?
I mean, if you can prove that wrong, then you're right.

What the hell is this?
Humans and gorillas are different species that can't interbreed.
Elementary stuff, man.
I believe there is a chance something like Bigfoot could still be alive.
I also believe that the reason we haven't found one is because of a "Hermit" style of living.
The animal has to have some sort of intelligence going by reported sightings, so maybe it is intelligent enough to cover its own droppings with leaves and dirt to mask its scent from other animals.
As for finding a dead one, maybe they dispose of it in an unorthodox way?
We are always finding some crazy looking animals or ancient supposedly extinct ones, like the Coelacanth;
[IMG_thumb]http://www.mnh.si.edu/highlight/coelacanth/images/image_1_lg.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
I have a feeling that we will one day find Bigfoot, or whatever animal it is.

The big difference between that fish and bigfoot, is that much physical evidence in the form of fossils for example has been found of the fish. Bigfoot however has left no fossils or bones at all.

Trust me, it wasn't. The light was too large to even be considered a modern-day aircraft.
Why do we have not HAVE A SINGLE FUCKING FOSSIL OF ANY CREATURE REMOTELY RESEMBLING BIGFOOT OR POSSIBLE ANCESTORS OF IT ANYWHERE IN THE ENTIRETY OF THE NEW WORLD?
South Asia is NOT the New World. Plus, why have no fossils or bones of said creature been found anywhere between there and where it supposedly lives?

I see the names Bigfoot and Yeti as interchangable, big deal?
This thread is about the modern-day bigfoot idea, around North America. You don't get to say that it is about other creatures because you feel like it.

Numbskull:

The fossils quoted were found IN SOUTH ASIA, not IN THE AMERICAS.
UFOs / Bigfoot - a link?
Here is a very interesting podcast.
http://www.binnallofamerica.com/boaa032811.html
It's about the Bigfoot / UFO wave that took place in Pennsylvania 1973-74. What's noteworthy is that there were an extraordinary amount of sightings during that time (like 3 a day!). There were also several UFO sightings, and sometimes BOTH (people saw several bigfoot-like creatures hanging around a UFO). It brings a very interesting angle to the whole subject, and suggests that Bigfoot might not be an ordinary ape, but maybe something else.
There were several reports of people shooting at these creatures - which typically resulted into the creatures instantaneously vanishing in a flash of light! Many tracks were found that just abrupted, as if the creature had vanished into thin air. What's interesting about this is that this would explain the lack of sightings and the complete lack of physical evidence of these creatures.
I mean, SOMETHING was going on during that time. Reports were coming in left and right and there were several independant eye witnesses to the same events etc. One witness even said that government people came to his house and showed him clear pictures of said "bigfoot".
The question remains - what the hell was going on in Pennsylvania during "73-"74?
Could bigfoot be a supernatural phenomenom? Is it linked to UFOs and ETs?
Would it explain the lack of physical remains from these creatures?

Despite the fact this is taken from a dubious website, and no reputable sources seem to record much at all about this event, I shall ask some logical flaws still present.
1: Why would aliens bring bigfoot to earth?
2: Why would they conveniently vanish when shot at?
3: Why they seem immortal/leave no physical evidence
4: There is no such thing as supernatural, only the natural not yet unexplained.
5: Why does the federal government not have really anything to say about it?
On the Bigfoot front, Stan details some specific cases which were particularly intriguing, including one where the footprints seem to disappear out of thin air and another which was so strange that his colleague who investigated it decided to stop researching the paranormal.
Probably because he realised it was a waste of time to document and research a load of bullshit using pseudo-science.
Stan also shares the strange detail about mysterious, unknown investigators who interviewed and hypnotized the primary witness of the event.
Well clearly this seems perfectly sane and not questionable.
We also find out if Stan has to deal with many prank callers or hoaxed cases on his UFO hotline.
Bahahahahahaha.
Since 1965, Stan Gordon has been conducting on scene investigations of mysterious encounters in Pennsylvania.
Despite working for over half a century, he has yet to use the scientific method when it leads to results he disagrees with.

This is what's so strange about it. And nobody knows obviously...
1) Nobody has claimed this is the case. For all we know, the UFOs could be curious themselves and wanted to see the bigfoot.
2) Very strange. Maybe they're extradimensional. Maybe they're holograms. Maybe they're images induced telepathically somehow.
3) See above.
4) Ok. Paranormal then. Happy?
5) Because the governemt always tells the truth and discloses everthing they know... yeah right. Maybe they know exactly what it all is about and, naturally, choses not to go out with it. Maybe they are just as perplexed as us.

He's not a scientist. He's just a reporter/investigator. He collected eye witness reports. He's not jumping to any conclusions. He's merely retelling what people said they witnessed.
If you have 2 hours to waste, listen to the podcast. Even if you don't believe in any of that, it's very interesting stuff.

1. Oh, yes they have.
2. Extradimensional? telepathy?
I'll just sum it up in a line- Argument from ignorance, Begging the question
I've yet to see evidence for the means of extradimensional travel, telepathy, or holograms being used in the woods of the americas, or UFOs being alien and intelligent life.

It's a reporter's responsibility to accurately convey the truth.

Hold on a minute here. You are saying that aliens would rather interact with a semi-legendary creature (With as much evidence to support it exists as there is evidence for a man called Brutus founding London and capturing 2 giants called Gog and Magog to guard the gates 1000 years before the Romans arrived, and that Brutus was a Trojan.) that the educated of this planet knows does not exist. That they would rather search for a creature in the dense and dark woods than interact with, well you know...
HUMAN CIVILISATION, WHICH IS EVERYWHERE AND PERHAPS MORE INTERESTING THAN A MISIDENTIFIED BEAR?

Maybe if you could try expand your mind, just a little bit , and think. It's just one of many alternatives.
You obviously won't accept a "don't know".
What??
:/
In two years, I really hope the people arguing for Bigfoot's existence look back at this and realize JUST WHAT YOU TYPED.
The argument that bigfoot exists because we can't disprove it is a textbook example of ad ignorantiam. This is a logical fallacy that goes like this:
"You can't disprove X because you have no evidence against it!"
This is fallacious because you can use this to claim anything.
"You can't disprove the fact that you killed every single dinosaur in a time travelling machine because you have no evidence against it!"
What??
They're two common fallacies, meaning errors in logic. The last line is an expansion upon the second fallacy

Stop it, nobody is saying that.
It's you who are being ignorant here. You are ignoring all the witness reports and sweep it under the rub like it doesn't exist.

No, we are saying that witness reports are unreliable; this was already fully discussed.
That's like saying that extraterrestrials don't share our sense of math.

This does not matter.
And now you are assuming that these UFOs are extraterrestrials. Why?
