Any updates?
Probably won't get my hands on it til Friday. By the time I get out of college and back in town, my teacher has either left or is hiding in some other teachers room. I help teach his class on Friday's so I'll have it by then. I might try to get additional pics in class then post them while I'm there.
Awesome, cant wait to see it!
And here's what you've all been waiting for. The issue I'm having with the slide is the small tab I made that slides into the iron sight dovetail. I can get it to fit into both slides, but it's too high up preventing me from getting the screw to make contact with the blow back chamber of the gun. I might have to have a smaller one made, luckily that wouldn't take too long. That, or I got to redesign the slide. The front end was a bit hard to get on. I had to sand down the rails inside by a good amount to get it to fit on the pistol. Now it has a tight friction fit, no chance of it coming off unless I really want it too. Looks like I don't have to take out the slide release pin after all to replace it with a screw to hold the front now too. The light module slides onto the rail smoothly, it's the only part that didn't need any filing. But I did find 1 mistake. I made 2 pins that would hold it to the rail of the front part of the gun. Unfortunately, I realized the groove I made for the pin was only on 1 half of the light module and not the other side. I'll probably just dremel out the other side. Other than those issues it works and looks good. My main objective now is to get the slide working by using tools, or if that fails, a redesign of the slide.
-Awesome pictures and sad news-
Very awesome, shame the slide doesn't fit.
Almost goes back to my original idea of it being just the front end. Still, even without the slide it's pretty kickass. Once I figure out how to get the video of this new camera I'll put a video together.
But it's so awsome you can't go back now.
Sexy. Can't wait to see how it looks painted.
I've pretty much finished all the necessary changes, such as tolerance issues with the front fitting on the pistol's rail easily. List of Changes: -Rail tolerance. -Rounded Upper slide, new connector part made to hold the slide to the pistol slide. *Slide connectors made with 3 different sized cuts below them to make room for the pistols blow back chamber. -Extruded front plate in front of muzzle, added dimples to the corners. -Top Front has details added. -Bottom Details added (3 blocks) -Rear sight groove has been set at an angle, no longer parallel. -Front sight enlarged for better viewing. -Trigger guard extended to be flush with the pistol grip. -Light module no longer slides onto the rail, assembled around the rail. *Removable pins have been attached to the right half of the module. Now I don't have to worry about the pins falling out. Slide Intersection Slide Connectors 2 Piece Light Module Enlarged sight, top details, front plate. 3 blocks added under the gun, this was a detail I couldn't make before because they would get in the way of the light module sliding on. Sweet! Can't wait to see the results.
The pigs didn't make it this far.
lol sweet. Might be because I already chewed him out once in this thread. Anyways, I recently spray painted the Ver.1 prototype with silver metallic paint as the base coat. Next step is to add the black spray paint. Hopefully I'll get the effect of it looking like metal if it gets scratched. I'll try to get some quick pictures up tonight. Ver.2 is almost ready for printing. I just need to rotate the parts onto a 8x8 square so it fits on the printer. I might try to fit 2 of them on the same plate if I can, I've been talking with a member on the 405th forums who's willing to make the molds for the pistol. Sounds like he might be able to save the internal details too, making it a working kit (depending on the material of course).

Brought the file over to be printed today. Unfortunately the connection between the computer and the printer is acting up again. Supposedly it was working just fine yesterday, and now the computer is saying it can't find or connect to the printer. It also has a warning message about a missing file, telling us to reinstall it. So we had the district IT guy reinstall it, still no luck. My teacher is getting in contact with the company that makes the printer to either fix the problem or get some new software. So who knows when that will be done. At least the model doesn't have an errors though, we got to check that. Estimated build time was 36 hours though, due to having to put of the front of the gun on the plate vertically. It was just about half an inch too long to fit on the tray laying down. The original has been painted and it's final layer is drying right now. I didn't fully paint the slide, since I know it won't work, so I left it with the metallic paint for now. I painted the parts in 2 layers. The first being the metallic coat, then a black coat over that. Honestly though I think my spray painting sucks, it looks uneven and I missed a few spots. I tested the metallic spray paint on a clear plastic Desert Eagle pistol. The finish looked pretty good, so I then painted the parts. Spray paint still looks good, feels like it was worn in or has that kind of war-torn look to it.
I hate halo in every way, shape, and form, but this is the shit right here.
I hate halo in every way, shape, and form
There is something wrong with you.
I think you missed the last bit.
but this is the shit right here.

I think you missed the last bit.
Nah, I didnt. How could you hate Halo?
1. MLG Halo (I have it, but it does exist) 2. You're a genetically modified human in a powered exoskeleton. 3. Not a reason to hate a game. Plus, none of the guns are real, and the situation is fictional, so its not even SUPPOSED to be realistic. 4. CoD4: A .50 BMG round in the chest and still going strong! Thank God for Juggernaught! 5. See #4. And its called a "Sniper rifle". A Sniper is a person. Ender, I expect to see a full set of non-cardboard ODST armor. And an M7-S. :fuckyou:
Meh, I'll substitute the M7S with a KWA MP7 w/ silencer and a red dot. A function M7 would be more of a pain than it's worth right now. Perhaps later on once I get through my CNC classes.
All you'd really have to do is to slap on a new buttstock, mod the pistol grip a little, and make it so the vertical grip doesn't go 90 and still not pinch your thumb to go from an MP7 to an M7.
Only problem is, the way they designed the stock it would interfere with the actual barrel of the gun if you closed it.
Just got back from using the M6C at CQB City's night game. The pistol worked wonders, I can't even keep track of how many kills I got with it inside the killhouse. I think I took down more people with the pistol in the 3rd round than I did with my MP5A4. During that round they turned the lights off, and my helmet cam was acting up. I did get some footage of it during the 2nd round, but the low light conditions make it almost impossible to see. I'll try my best to get some footage out of it that will let you see it. The small LED light I have inside the pistol actually wasn't that bad. For up to 20 feet it was good at lighting someone up, about the range I was using that pistol. It's amazing how well it lights someone up wearing Army ACU, makes them look like a lightbulb. I also took out 2 of the special ops guys during the 4th round using nothing but the pistol. Once again the light really helped to clear that room in the pitch black of the warehouse. Overall I am very satisfied with the M6C kit. Despite not having the slide installed it was still great and was actually an improvement to my pistol. Only downside is it barely fits inside of my Tornado holster. If it was any larger I'd need to use a MP7 holster.
Here's some pictures of the final product. I'd take pictures outside, but it's sort of dark by the time I get out of school. I can try to get some tomorrow since class is canceled. With flash on. Notice the jagged side surface on the lower half. This is due to the 3D printer printing in layers. The gun took a hit the other night, got shot by another guy from less than 20 feet or so with a pistol. The silver layer of paint still remains, looks like my idea worked. Working light, it's not nearly as bright as it's shown here in the picture. Only good for up to 20 feet at most.
