So i think maybe I'll get an smg or carbine (still haven't decided) with maybe a sight attachment and a shotgun with a folding stock or a pistol

Don't buy sidearm to start off with, put that $100+ into a better primary. With airsoft guns being what they are, a carbine or SMG is really no worse than a full-length rifle performance-wise, so don't worry about what type of gun it is and pick something that is of good quality for the price (we can help you with this) and appeals to you.

Also look at any reviews on said gun. Most sites have them.

I'd take those with a grain of salt. You're best off checking forum reviews

This looks pretty good
Although I couldn't find a single forum review
It's a p. decent gun, but for the price you can do better
Meh ok I'll continue asking for help in the questions thread

Our game area. This is gonna be sweet.
Found an airsoft gun that people say is a very good and cheap gun

Damn right it is. The body is "plastic", but it's G&G plastic (polymer actually). Which is more sturdy than most chinashit "metal".
Cool
Now I'm gonna go find some gear

Also what would be a recommended attachment? Like what kind of sight? Was thinking holographic or cqb scope but really I have no idea what works better
Guys should I trade my 74u for AKS74? Its an echo 1 wolverine with the blowback disabled.

What kind of gameplay are you into/going to be doing?
For CQB if you use a mask you probably won't be able to use your sights anyway and won't need one after a bit of practice. Any red dot that costs more than $30 will probably serve you well enough, though beware of glare/strong light making it hard to see your red dot. I personally don't use it as my Eotech is better, but I got a bad, plastic red dot from a $10 springer package and it worked perfectly fine for airsoft. This stuff is imprecise, even with proper aim sometimes I miss completely anyway.
If you plan to do field play, unless it's at night or in bad lighting you won't really need a red dot. I got by without one for the longest time and only in the last few months did I actually have an optic worth using, my first few kills were with a terribad gun with iron sights from about 150 feet away and it didn't stop me from being useful.
Honestly I don't know anything about the fields here in Texas
If its cqb I might use a sight that works for cqb and middle range
If its a big field then I have no idea but if its night then i won't use any sights
[editline]27th April 2012[/editline]
Meh nevermind your right sights won't really matter, might get a foregrip instead
[editline]27th April 2012[/editline]
Crap wait the rifle I want doesn't even have rails
Don't worry about a verticle foregrip. They really don't do your aim any favors from what I can tell, and airsoft guns don't have recoil so...
Yeah guess your right
But there is one serious problem.......it says the rifle doesn't come with a battery and charger and I have no idea where to find one or what kind it uses :(

You don't really need attachments. And if you have no idea what the field you're going to be playing on is like, probably best to stick with iron sights. You don't want to spend $30+ on a decent sight only to find out you don't need it.

Search around Google and see if you can find a 7.4V lipo for a decent price. Higher mAh results in longer playing time, but also higher price. A 3000mAh lipo will run you about $30-40, and should last you a day on the field.

Why should he get a lipo with no experience in batteries
[QUOTE=JoonazL;35733136]Why should he get a lipo with no experience in batteries[/QUOTE]
Honestly I don't think I have experience in anything
But I found an 1600mah battery for 30$ but anytime I find an 3000mah it's friggin 100$

Unless you're getting a lipo, a 3000mAh battery will be so huge that it's not gonna fit. Link the gun again ok?
Combat Machine is a solid gun. But the battery is in the handguard which means you need a certain type of battery to make it fit.

Not expensive and will work perfectly, I and my friend have both owned Combat Machines.
Just get a smart charger so you're not throwing money away if you accidentally overcharge the battery.

What smart charger should he get? I don't know much of these, I just don't want him to use one of the temperature ones because they can still overcharge if your battery isn't empty.
I had a Super Brain but it's kinda pricey. Maybe he should just get one of those cheap blue Chinese smart chargers, but I have no idea what they're like.
Can someone put up a link to a not so pricey smart charger?

I have one and it works just fine, but I don't charge my batteries by temperature anymore since they usually have some power left when I'm done using them.
