Airsoft Chat Thread V.7 Shimano gears are the best

Yes and no. The issue is that you need constant access to the charging handle, in case of a jam, and you need to make sure the catcher doesn't interfere with the mechanism. The best solutions are basically just DIY.
My plan is to have a cardboard frame around the top and sides of the port, and staple a mesh bag onto that. Then, I can easily cock it from the bottom, and see through the mesh bag. Basically all duck tape and staples.
Extractor and shell lifters are definitely being sold as separate components though, and I'm helping him come up with the prices individually. Best part of the modification is that the extractor will be removable from the shell door with a simple allen key, so in 30 seconds you can change it out to a fresh one. He estimates about 500 shots of perfect performance per extractor, at like $3 each, but I estimate a fair amount more than that, he's always selling his skills short.

Okay, pictures are worth a thousand words time.
Comparison with original design on the top:

Also, as you can see, the new extractor sits farther back, so it starts the extraction process sooner and lowers the chances of a jam in more ways than one.
Very cool. One last thing, is modification necessary for it to be safe with propane, and if so, is it a modification I can perform myself? I'm a little wary about paying $150 on RedWolf just for some guy to stick on a couple of hose clamps and replace seals.
The 400fps upgrade is not needed for green gas on either shotgun. It helps the M870's power a lot, but does next to nothing for the M1100, as its already quite powerful. The only thing that goes wrong are the gas storage tanks themselves, which like to leak after a while on green. You can fill leaks with some silicone sealant, or simply switch over to external air/CO2.
If you do switch to external, your life will be a lot better, but you should definitely stick to 150PSI to avoid any kinds of mishaps.
Yeah I think a safe bet is maybe five or six people total will be wearing gear and camo at my field.
And the other ten or fifteen are little kids wearing sweatshirts and crossdraws.
Sounds like a typical CQB game here. Look at them as being more easy targets (unless they cheat).

May be a tl;dr kind of post but I feel I simply must share my experiences. Summary below for you impatient folk.
At the night game yesterday, I had a blast and ended up getting a huge ego boost like a boss. We were assigned some kind of strange scenario that involved running an ammo can prop along a series of waypoints. Our force of about ten guys split in half, five of us going along the road immediately to the south of the central rubble piles and the other half going along the north road into the trenches and bushes of the northeastern part of the field. My group worked it's way towards the pistol/CQB area at the eastern end of the field. We sneaked into this U-shaped dirt mound facing said area and several of our number climbed up part of the way to get a view. The opfor had moved out of the pistol area into the fields, presumably expecting an attack from that direction or having spotted our guys or something. We began to cross the top of the mound. I sat back and observed from out of threatening range while the rest of our guys picked their way over the rubble on the other side and worked their way down stealthily. Eventually I was completely alone observing the action while safely hidden.
Call me a coward, but I knew better than to walk out onto the open road where I'd be seen as long as I had a range and concealment advantage from the height I was at (this was some 20 feet over the road at least). The rest of my group moved up and entered the bushes, frequently exchanging fire with our elitist foes in the dark. I observed that they're pretty much incapable of fighting without tac lights. Most of them didn't seem to fire without using their lights, which of course marked their positions. Using my advantageous spot I picked off one of them unseen, not even bothering with my taclight, when he drew too near to me. Eventually the action moved far enough away that I was no longer useful, and our north squad almost lit me up by mistake assuming I was an enemy for not being with the others. Near the end of this stint a guy from my own squad down below mistook me for an enemy and I had to team kill him in self defense (he also lit me up with his taclight and nearly blew my cover).
So I went the long way back down and around, taking to the south road and following it past the CQB area. I met this cool new guy in MARPAT with a stereotypical paintball mask, railed MP5, and some kind of inexpensive LBV wandering around looking for friendlies. While passing by one of the CQB area's dirt mounds on our way to the fields, we heard chatter nearby. Upon taking cover behind the mound and peeping, I spotted something like three or four silhouettes wandering into the area from out of the fields, clearly opfor. I brought my AEG to bear and opened fire. Pretty sure I hit at least one of them, then my mag seemed to go empty on me.
Cue lots of shouting of "GET OVER HERE, MOVE UP" as the survivors realized they were under attack. Drawing my pistol in anticipation of them rushing me, I had the kid watch the opposite side of the hill for anyone attempting to flank as I went the way I'd seen them. Sure enough, one of the elitists came stalking my way and caught a few rounds to the chest and promptly called himself out. They basically didn't see me. Next guy fell similarly, walking out with his light on only to pretty much beacon himself and get shot by yours truly. The third guy may or may not have been brushing on his hits, as we had several extremely close (figurative and literally) exchanges of fire that should've hit him every time, but I got him too even though I was shaking like a blender from shot nerves. Pulling back to the opposite side of the hill with the kid, I spotted the last guy moving in to medic one of the dead opfor back in and I took him down with my AEG. We waited a moment, and when we heard no more movement and saw nothing we elected to move up to join our comrades out in the field. Then someone called "game over" and we ended up heading back home.
Didn't even need my taclight the entire time FTW.

tl;dr I morphed into a ninja and assassinated multiple elistist scum like a boss. Six confirmed kills, including one blue-on-blue encounter with a confused teammate.
When will i be able to get my hands on the kit to make a m1100 into an m1014 because, i held off on getting a shotgun becasue theres not a good semi auto benelli m4.

Yeah, you now understand the concept of guerrilla warfare at night. Since you faced an enemy with superior weaponry and teamwork, you played by sacrificing your men so that you could win.
Also, what kind of elitist gearwhores use taclights? Its all about NOD's. However, NOD's ,ake sneaking up on people like 5x easier if you know what you're doing. Without them, night games turn into attempting to spot people at close range, but as soon as you throw on NOD's you can see everything, so it turns into squads pissing away their ammo at ranges where they hit nothing or almost nothing, as well as getting tunnel vision.

Uhh, it shouldn't be that much longer now, he's making a webstore for people to buy things. I'll let you know when its ready, and continue to post all the details here.
Might score a Galaxy MP5K for 20€. Fuck yeah.

Technically, I just abandoned my squad altogether as I felt it was unwise to move forward in the way that they were. It was unfortunately the only direct way to provoke the enemy into revealing themselves though, it doesn't make me feel too great that I let them walk into it (though they probably wouldn't listen to me if I told them not to anyhow). I basically capitalized on my teammate's progress and used it to my/our advantage. They didn't have a clue what stealth was unfortunately. Felt like something out of a movie/cowwadooty/splinter cell, all the lurking around in the dark and observing. They never successfully cued in on where I was to my knowledge.

Our elitists are actually mostly anti-geardo ~hispeed operators~, and spout misconceptions at every turn due to being senile/walled off from change for years. The gearwhores are some of the cooler people simply because they take pride in not looking like fruitcakes in minimalist win-at-all-costs getups.
As far as I know, only one or two people here possess proper NODs of some kind, scopes I think, and I don't believe any of them are from the elitists' groups. You're right about "pissing away" ammo, from my perch I saw people easily engaging at 250-300 feet without effect. Just spamming everywhere in the general direction of another guy's taclight. Some of them even narrowly avoided fragging me in the confusion, possibly only because they were too far to make a proper hit.
The main problem was the (team captain?) of the opfor had a gigantic taclight that was more or less like a downscaled lighthouse, and he could easily illuminate stuff most of the way from the north to the south end of the field. Might as well have had NODs, the guy was spotting for his team all over the ground level - part of the reason I didn't want to go down, it would've been too easy to be shot out.
Redwolf Airsoft replaced Arclight in their videos with some Afrikaans girl. Arclight was cool, now they're just using semi attractive girls to make people buy their guns. Not that I have a problem with this.
i love arclight but
fucking christ is she ever adorable

Wait you are cudlitz and luc?
Not trying to spam or anything but just refreshing my offer on the airsofting kit I have in Central Florida. Full wood/metal AK-47 (CM042) and a lot of other stuff (good beginner kit) for $275.
I've also got a nice 36" canvas rifle bag I'd consider throwing in to the kit and making it an even $300. I bought the bag for like $45 off of Amazon, plus $10 in shipping. I figure that's a good deal.

You guys should totally buy this so I can buy a real AK-47 :v:

Good, Arclight is the coolest airsoft host ever, just slightly more so than Tim from gi.

I don't know, I kind of like Matt from Evike and Bob from ASGI more. They both seem like they would be such bros. Also, Tim just seems like he's an elitist jerk to me. Imagine you just got into airsoft and had your only gun, a JG m4. But oh no! you trip and land on your gun in break it. Bob walks by, he helps you and and offers his MP9 for you to use for the rest of the day, giving you a consoling pat on the back. Tim walks by, looks at you and says," Should have bought a KWA," before walking away.
I have no idea how these people really are, but that's how I see their attitudes in the videos.
I feel the same way about bob and tim
bob was in playboy and taco bell comercial instant bro
I don't like Bob. He talks to me like I'm an idiot kid and every gun he reviews is THE BEST THING EVER
He should do reviews for Airsplat.
I met Bob... I was walking around in my Russian gear and he didn't believe my Cold War Soviet helmet felt more comfortable than a mich
Tim offered me potato chip bags to customers and shit but I politely refused

Have you ever been to Evike's store or met Matt?
if you read last page then you'd know he's talking about semi auto shotguns
KWA 1911 DS will be on sale at ASGI for $15 tonight, 8 PM Pacific time. They're only selling something like six, though.

What exactly is the story behind this? As far as I can tell you dressed up and climbed a rocky hill.
He can't talk about it, he's BTDT after classified black-ops operations in Kandahar, A-Stan. Remember, it's all under clearence.
