state obvious more
Just contradicting his statement.
I was talking to a retired army captain. He was saying camo is now obsolete as far as the US tactics are concerned. Because we travel in convoys, and when you are fired upon; you dismount and take a knee. I was like wtf. What about recon units and shit.
camo makes you harder to see, especially when the camo youre wearing looks like your surroundings.
I'm gonna elaborate a bit. Camouflage PATTERNS break the human contour and add color that are relative to your surroundings. These colors and contour breaking, at long ranges, make the enemies eyes not able to see the difference at long ranges. Color also plays key role since the colors of the human skin ( white/brownish/yellow ) are very notice able in a Dark Green to Brown vegetation.Notice that i didn't mention black.Black people have a naturally good skin color for a woodland environment. Also they need to do is put some OD face cam. on there face and they are good to go. Also shiny items are VERY bad if you wanna survive for more then 10 min without being seen. -Good reading for new people to military camo and yes i am stating the obvious-
ok sorry fiend
How about the fact that camo doesn't really matter in airsoft because engagement distances are usually not that far?
How about the fact that camo doesn't really matter in airsoft because engagement distances are usually not that far?
Well, in my fields it's very useful when you can dig in to an area and wait for someone to pass by. It's also very VERY good in any sense because it gives you time to react to your enemies action.
That's why i said it's into for more new people as an intro to camo or just information refreshing.
but what person looking for an intro into camouflage wander onto THIS thread? Edit: more importantly. this is a really stupid thing to argue about and warrants no further discussion. zero fucks to be given, not letting this go any further. highroad golden age and all that crap. cave johnson, we're done here. editedit: apologies all round for starting this in the first place
Are we even trying to argue ?
You're suppost to be in a area that has vegetation such as trees and bushes if you're gonna use a MARPAT or LATPAT. Using digicamos in a plain field is not what Camo is made for.Unless your using them in those vegetation situations and somehow being very detectable.I think then you're in a too lightish area for your specific camo.
I know how camouflage works. I'm not fucking retarded. I said that most Digicamos have too small of a pattern to be effective. The human eye does not see in extreme detail more than ~50 or so yards out. When the pattern is too small, all the colors just blend together and create a distinct silhouette. The reason large digipatterns work (LATPAT for example) is because their pattern is very crisp and large and the eye does some natural blending on it's own, therefore making you essentially invisible because the eye can't focus. It's the same reason M90 and other splinter patterns work so well
Are we even trying to argue ?
in my mind it felt as if something was starting and im really not in any sort of mood for that. just premptively ending the argument that only existed in my mind
What makes digital camos any more effective than splotch camos like M81 or choco-chip?
What makes digital camos any more effective than splotch camos like M81 or choco-chip?
Because the edges are sharp.
digital is more effective at close range than splotch-based patterns because of the noise and size of the pattern longer range as itsjustguy saids, the colors will kind of mix together and shit
just found these on redwolf. http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Gas_Pistols_SMGs_WE_WE_EBR_MK14_MOD_1_GBB.htm http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Accessories_Miscellaneous_TMC_dummy_M37_K_seal_pup_knife_BK.htm
So, a question for you guys- should I make this SPAS-12 function essentially like a standard semi-auto, but with the pump available to chamber the first round, or should I try to find a way to make it alternatively pump and semi?
Both
Hey, guys, who's the airsofter here that plays/lives in Central Florida and works at the field down by the Orlando Airport? I can't remember his name, but I gotta ask him something.

Fuck
What did you need to know? I'm friends with a lot of the regulars and employees
I was going to ask if he knew any places in the area that bought airsoft rifles/equipment, or if anyone in the area that he knew was in the market for an AK-47 airsoft rifle. I need to sell mine badly and Craigslist just isn't cutting it. I keep getting people offering me trades for other airsoft shit when I clearly stated in the ad that I was only looking for cash and didn't have time to play Airsoft.
Go on the Combat City forums and try the sales subforum there. I think you may be able to leave it at the shop there and they'll have it hanging up for you and send you the money. I don't know since I've never sold like that. I can ask Hula. combatcityusa.forummotion.com
Thanks will try the thread.
Since we can actually bring our guns back into Canada now if we have the right documentation and can prove it shoots between 366 and 500 FPS, I really want to go play airsoft in eastern Europe now.
My RRV hyrdration carrier came in today. turns out it was for H-Harness RRVs But it's easily jury rigged.
