I really don't like short shotguns. Then again i don't like short any gun so it's just my thing. It also has a slight bit to do with mag capacity but it's most just looks. But yeah, i already want to get that upgrade and get an external HPA line to hook up to some HPA tanks i have lying around.
I have to ask though, what's so special about the short shotguns? I really don't like the look or understand the craze at all.
It has nothing to do with looks. My fullsize wood shotgun is pretty much the showpiece.
Mag capacity is not very important with shotguns, since you can reload at any point and fire at any point. I've never been in a situation where 3+1 is not enough.
What you have to realize is that your shotgun is not a good primary weapon. No effective moving and firing, minimal range, magazine suppression by anything including a pistol, and due to the spread you have to factor in luck on longer shots. And considering that the M870 has far less power than the M1100, your range will be considerably lower than you are likely to need.
It is by far the most effective when you combine it with an AEG primary, or at least a pistol secondary.
Now that I've established the need for another weapon while skirmishing, imagine what that means.
Multiple magazines, additional weight, weapon slinging, etc, and that's all in addition to carrying the shells and HPA tank.
Your gear will get heavy fast and will slow you down, which is really bad if you're trying to be a doorkicker.
Another equally important point is that if you need to reload your shotgun, you probably aren't in a guaranteed safe area, which means you need to have a weapon up at all times. It is quite the challenge to hold up your long heavy shotgun at a corner with one hand while you fumble and reload your shells. And with the longer magazine, you're much more likely to fire more before reloading, which makes your reloading longer. This means you're going to be very vulnerable, and for a decent period of time.
Now if you have a shorty at the same scenario, life is much simpler. Pistol grip aids pointability, skeleton stock will cut weight while still allowing accuracy, and a 3+1 magazine is very fast on the reload, as the magazine spring is much weaker. I frequently reload while moving with my shorties because its a very easy thing to do. Most importantly, the weight is far lighter, so carrying a reliable primary is not nearly as big of a hassle.
I can totally understand wanting to show something off, but if you're going to spend this much money on something, and you're not going to bother with making it as effective as possible, why bother at all?
And that is why, when I build this SPAS, I think am going to build the hook for the stock. Using it one-handed and reloading will be a lot easier if I can hook my arm into it, and the first OP I intend to use it at will involve a lot of carrying things in my off hand.
I got a package.

Kath is awesome, somehow he managed to fit my CVC helmet liner in a tiny box and sent it to me.
On a related subject, question to anyone here with a CVC helmet: How the shit do you take the headphones out of the liner? I want to swap them from my old liner to this new one, but can't see any easy way to remove them.

RopaDope do you even play Airsoft? In the time you've been here I haven't seen you post a single thing Airsoft related.
Instead it's been all of this mind-numbingly retarded, off topic bullshit.

As Felix said, M1100's have no need for the power upgrade, they're good to go from the start.
Also, you don't need to give up on stuff, keep your options open. The full size M1100 can be converted into a much shorter gun, just by adding a new magazine spring, magazine tube cap, and folding stock/pistol grip.
Similarly, swapping the stocks on a full size M870 is easy to do and will save a lot of weight. If you really wanted, you could even convert a full stock into a sawed off, although I wouldn't want to destroy that beautiful wood stock.
Also, its best to remember that the M870 is very durable, while the M1100 is more likely to have problems.
If you have access to basic machining stuff, you can probably perform the extractor mod as detailed here:

Both of the M1100's in the package Catbarf and I are splitting have this modded extractor, so I'll be able to give you guys some pictures and stuff of it.
But yeah, look around at M870's, CA870's, and M1100's and try to find either a short or midlength design you like, and I can probably source parts for it.

If you live in Whiteville, Texas yeah.
its funny because white people are a minority in texas
your attempt
failed
Shotguns purchased.
I've also just remembered that M870 receivers can be made to work for the M1100, so I might build a semi auto masterkey.
Alternatively I'm probably gonna attach a revision to one of my other shotties as an impromptu double barreled masterkey.
What if you
Put a Semi Auto Masterkey
On your
Semi Auto Shotgun
Huh? Right? I mean -this- guy right?

I've always wondered if people in Europe have problems with their neighbors' people or if Mexicans invading everything is genuinely annoying.
We have lots of polish people over here in the UK, Poland must be a MASSIVE shithole if they think things are going to be better over here.
Rabies or Catbarf, which one of you is getting the shell catcher? I would like to purchase it from one of you fine gentlemen.
Its gonna be Catbarf's but he's gonna need it for the outdoor games he plays at. Lemme see if I can find you an affordable/decent one.
Also, you don't have a charging handle on your's right?

Well the Polish government really loves to suck up to the Catholics. So I'd say it's a shithole.
